I am real sick and tired of people assuming Shawn's sexuality. Just because this relationship didn't work out doesn't mean anything. I hope both of them are happy and there is no tension between them going forward.

Shawn is suffering from an authenticity problem. He’s trying to be Harry Styles. He’s just not that guy and it’s ok. People loved him for being the cute vanilla guy with catchy pop songs that he was prior to Wonder. He doesn’t need to be this deep artist that dress in woman’s clothes and only posts serious topics on his insta stories like climate change etc. Nothing wrong with being goofy and vanilla Shawn. Coming from a fellow goofy vanilla gay guy. It’s ok. |

I am surprised that they broke up now. It seemed like they doubled down HARD on being very, very visible with their relationship even when it seemed detrimental/people found them annoying. I didn't necessarily think they would last forever, but I thought they would stick it out for awhile and maybe get married.
I am (yes, this makes me terrible) happy that his next cd may be a bit more inspired? Give me some heartbreak songs, maybe some production risks, go a bit poppier or a bit harder or at least a bit more inspired.

Something is definitely going on with Shawn. You can tell he's lost a lot of weight the past 2 years, has openly talked about having a lot of anxiety, and altogether seems lost. Whether its his sexuality or whatever, I hope he figures it out and gets into a better place. He seems like a really sweet guy with a good heart.

The anxiety thing has been mentioned as far back as the release of "In My Blood". Save for that particular track though, he has failed to translate his struggles into interesting music in the way a lot of other musicians do. Regardless of how boring I think his current output is, I wish him well. The industry is a tough place and he seems almost too naive for it.
