Blackpink would need to make up 50k or maybe slightly less since I think 21 Savage & Metro Boomin's SEAs will probably be slightly lower in the end.

Sounds like a guess based on estimates. Just instead of using a range like always they were more specific

Blackpink has 4 differently packaged versions of their album plus a whole bunch of merch bundles, so we'll see what happens.

Do you think it's likely they could make up the difference by the end or that not all sales are counted rn? I mean selling 4 versions is practically 4x the sales right. is 21 savage most likely gonna take or what? 100k albums for a kpop group with 68 bundles and 4 versions of an album seems low to me tbh

^Well find out if Blackpink fans are rabid enough to make a push for that.

www.rollingstone.com/charts/albums/How does this pan out for the billboard charts? Did 21 savage's album underperform or did blackpinks? I thought 21 savage would get around 160m streams at least

^I doubt that is close to the numbers that HITS will have tomorrow for either. I think they probably underestimate the numbers for both by a fair amount. To note, Rolling Stones chart status is unofficial and posted before the tracking is done. So I would take it with a grain of salt as it currently is.

^It's 5 days of data, so you can multiply that by ~7/5.3 (depending on the frontloadedness) and get a decent estimate excluding YT Music audio streams. Multiply by ~1.04 to include those — but it also excludes YouTube video streams too, which the BB200 now includes.

YOUR EARLY TOP 20 IS BOOMIN With about 90% of the numbers in, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II (Boominati/Republic/Slaughter Gang/Epic) has a commanding lead at #1. Interscope’s BLACKPINK will debut at #2. Other new releases opening in the Top 10 are RCA’s Bryson Tiller and Def Jam’s YG. How high will these go? Will last week’s winner, Machine Gun Kelly, remain Top 5 when everything is counted? Check back for our final chart later this afternoon.

Shoots for the Stars Aim for the Moon seems have gotten a second wind. I guess the early numbers for it were too optimistic. Also, I do hope Folklore manages to hang on to the top 10 for another week and it seems that Rumours might be able to manage to return to the top 10 next week.

21 Savage & Metro Boomin’s collaboration album, Savage Mode II (Boominati/Republic/Slaughter Gang/Epic), opens at #1 on the HITS Top 50 with 173k. The duo racked up 200m+ streams for their highly anticipated sequel and posted the biggest first-week total ever for either act as a lead artist.
K-Pop sensations BLACKPINK follow at #2 with their debut full-length, THE ALBUM (YG/Interscope)—one of four IGA titles in the Top 10. The group earns the biggest first week ever for a female K-Pop act with 132k. Driven by their diehard fans, aka “Blinks,” sales accounted for 100k of the total.
Def Jam’s YG snags the #4 spot in late-breaking action with My Life 4Hunnid, which racked up nearly 63k, while RCA’s R&B breakthrough Bryson Tiller lands a Top 5 bow with A N N I V E R S A R Y, notching 59k, good for #5 . Last week’s #1, Machine Gun Kelly, slides to #6 with Tickets to My Downfall (Bad Boy/Interscope), while Interscope’s LANY cracks the Top 10.
12Tone has two acts in the Top 15: Joji, who moves to #13 in his second week with Nectar (88rising), and the iconic Dolly Parton with the yuletide set A Holly Dolly Christmas.
Following a viral TikTok video featuring “Dreams,” Ocean Spray and good vibes, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours (Warner) has returned to the upper reaches of the chart. It moves up to #16, a 41% spike.
With the music community and fans across the globe honoring guitar hero Eddie Van Halen's passing earlier this week, Van Halen's Best of, Vol. 1 (Warner) re-enters at #40 and their self-titled debut (also Warner) re-enters at #49.
Streeting this week are new projects from EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne, Interscope’s Blocboy JB and TDE’s REASON and special reissues from Sony Legacy’s Sade and Warner’s Linkin Park.
In election news, GOP candidates across the board have asked to have flies put on their heads.

I'm impressed 21 and Metro managed to rack 200m streams given that Spotify listeners really didn't seem to take to the album (and also there only being 13 real songs on the album). I was pulling for them to do 200k+, but I'm satisfied with 173k.

Impressive numbers for blackpink. Extremely rare for a kpop group to pull these kinds of numbers. Only 2nd to BTS

^^ Didn’t SuperM do 200k last year? I wonder how they’ll both do without bundles. Heck, I wonder that about any act who has used them
