Acts with the most weeks in the Hot 100 top 10 in 2020 (so far): This is definitely interesting because it shows to an extent who actually had hits that stuck. I see artists who had 'multiple #1 hits' this year that don't even have 5 weeks top 10. Quantity over quality (at least as far as chart runs go) seems to be the mantra of many acts this year. Release a new single, get a high debut, let it freefall and repeat with the next release. Not a great move for career longevity.

Acts with the most weeks in the Hot 100 top 10 in 2020 (so far):Ariana Grande - 5 weeks Grande could potentially have three number one-singles in 2020 and would have only spent 10 weeks or so in the top 10 by December? 💀💀💀 Depends. Her album's lead single debuting in the top 10 will give her 6 weeks. If she manages to debut 4 songs in the top 10 with her album bomb, that'll be 11 weeks (4 new entries in the top 10 with her lead single spending a second week in the top 10). 3 top 10 debuts with her album bomb will give her 10 weeks. It'll all depend on the longevity her single has.

m450n counting from the first week of January till this week. It doesn't look like you counted songs like Memories, Good As Hell, LYTLM, everything i wanted, Someone You Loved, Dance Monkey, Roxanne and other big hits at the start of the year.

Now that I think about it, I did leave out hits that weren't released this year. Ugh. I may have to revise the list.

Omg 19 singles that have been at #1 this year! Could this be the year with the most #1s since 1991 or in the Soundscan era?

Right now it's tied with 2010 for having the same amount of new number ones in a given year with 17. If I'm not mistaken, 2006 has had the most amount of new number one hits in a single year since SoundScan with 18.

? i dont get what's the problem. billboard has been consistent with remixes, if one week was credited as the remix, every week afterwards, the remix would be credited regardless of the points split between the remix vs original.

To recap the last 2 pages: A number one is a number one..... unless it doesn't have longevity in the top 10. Then we can drag it all day long.
Got it.

And to think 27 out of Justin Bieber's 30 weeks on the top 10 came from the two lowest peaking songs of the bunch...
Pity they were all incredibly subpar regardless, but still a testament that longevity should be more appreciated than peaks.

She was credited on Say So for 21 weeks tho A success. 👏🏿 That was a mistake. Say So spent 16 weeks in the top 10. Nicki was credited in 2 of those weeks. TROLLZ spent 1 week in the top 10, bringing her total to 3 weeks. Soundcl🕤ck deleted their post.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about "10,000 Hours" from earlier this year... 💀 My point still stands. Despite having songs peaking at #1, #2, and #3, the #4 and #5-peaking songs were the only two to have any proper longevity in the top 10.

It's not even the record this year, since "The Scotts" and "Franchise" only managed two weeks between them, dropping 1-12 and 1-25 respectively. Prior to this year there had never been a number one single that spent only a single week in the top ten (The Weeknd's "Heartless" was the first to do it last November, but it ultimately got a second week this year when the album dropped). Previous record holders were Taylor Hicks and Fantasia getting two weeks each with their 'Idol' coronation songs and John Lennon's "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night", which tallied only 3 top ten weeks in 1974 (moving 12-6-3-1-12 in a chart year as bizarre as this one).

The shortest top ten runs for a number one single in the late 80s/early 90s were "Dirty Diana" by Michael Jackson and "Black Cat" by Janet, both of which spent a short but respectable for the time 5 weeks each.
