wasn't able to get any results posted last night, sorry about that. I will be back tonight to finish this rankdown so make your final predictions on how this is gonna go before tonight!
I'm gonna try and do some reveals before Survivor premieres and if I can finish it then I will, if not I'll finish it afterwards.

With this one reveal we are down to the final 3! With #5 & #4 tied this takes out Jon Pardi and Lauren Alaina's duet, as well as Mickey Guyton. This leaves us with a Top 3 that features all 3 receiving #1 ranks!
Oh and we still have another tie coming...

there you have it! #3 and #2 were tied with Parker McCollum receiving an additional #1 rank to break the tie!
That leaves Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood's duet "If I Didn't Love You" to take the top spot! This song ran away with this and won by a strong margin!
Thanks everyone for participating and look forward to ranking Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood again next month against the previous 10 winners...

I was out of town and off Pulse when the predictions phase was happening, but if I had done them I would have predicted a landslide victory for Jason & Carrie! “If I Didn’t Love You” has become quite a powerful rankdown competitor in its brief lifespan, finishing at #2 in New Releases, top 5 in Carrie’s Extras, and now proving that third time’s the charm with its first victory! I don’t think I expected Parker to be top 2, but otherwise this pretty much played out exactly how I expected it to.

"If I Didn't Love You" is the right winner here, considering how popular it has been since its release.
Run is an amazing song, definitely my fav from her album. Getting Over You was a good choice in terms of getting momentum on the chart (I can see it kinda struggling right now), but Run would have been my choice.

What will be #1? Hmm...I'm going to place my bets on either "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" or "Where Would You Be" What will make up the Top 3? "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me", "Where Would You Be", and hopefully "Hard Candy Christmas"!
What will be #11? "Crash and Burn" please What will make up the Bottom 3? "Crash and Burn"...and from there I have no idea! Maybe "Dead Flowers" and "These Days"?
Any thoughts/comments? Aside from Thomas Rhett being the black sheep amongst everything else, I'm expecting some upsets as each one of these songs are beloved. That said, "If I Didn't Love You" will likely be propelled by the fact that it's one of the newer offerings, so I hope we all ranked it accordingly given that context. And I wouldn't be mad at all if "Hard Candy Christmas" won the whole thing!

What will be #1? I agree with tim - Poor Poor Pitiful Me Or Where Would You Be What will make up the Top 3? Those two above and probably If I Didn't Love You What will be #11? Please let it be Dead Flowers What will make up the Bottom 3? These Days, We Danced, Dead Flowers Any thoughts/comments? I hope Terri wins this but I usually do really bad in these Shuffles so watch Miranda take it (much to my chagrin)

What will be #1? I know better than to full-throatedly predict victory for one of Martina's screamers in a rankdown of this caliber... But I do legitimately think she stands a chance! I'll throw a little monkey wrench into the trend so far and predict The Chicks have a shot too What will make up the Top 3? "Where Would You Be", "The Long Way Around", and "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" What will be #11? "Crash and Burn" What will make up the Bottom 3? "Crash And Burn", "These Days", and "Hard Candy Christmas". Any thoughts/comments? I really should revive BotB/RotB!! Trying to make predictions for this incredibly strong list of winners is reminding me how much more unpredictable it can be to rank lists like this! Maybe that can be my project for 2022 :)

"Crash and Burn" is the least favorite former winner. Thomas Rhett was able to beat out Chris Stapleton, Lauren Alaina, and Carrie Underwood to name a few to win the 8th Shuffle! This was Thomas Rhett's only appearance in the first year of the Shuffle rankdown!

Thank goodness! Phew. "Crash and Burn" really stood out as the black sheep amongst everything else.

recency bias did not come through for Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood's current chart topper "If I Didn't Love You"! Also our most recent winner, beating out "Hell Of A Year", "Run", and "Don't Blame It On Whiskey". Jason and Carrie got their first win in the Shuffle series! This also happened to be the first appearance for Jason Aldean but for Carrie this was already her 3rd appearance.
In Shuffle #1 Carrie landed at #5 with her hit "Cowboy Casanova"! She returned in Shuffle #8 to land a spot higher with "Cry Pretty" (losing to our #11 finisher "Crash and Burn").
I think running a Shuffle based on my current favs playlist was a fun one because we saw some recent songs show up. I do wonder if this song was too recent to be included but it was still fun to see how it was received as a newer song compared to a lot of the other songs in that and this list.
I'll be back tomorrow evening to reveal our #9 song, what song will be rounding out our bottom 5?

I was kind of two minds about "If I Didn't Love You" whereas there were going to be two extremes for this. On one hand, I thought it might do well if only because it has that "newish" factor tied to it (and it's a well-liked song). But on the other hand, I thought that also might be its achilles heel as it's always a bit harder to rank newer songs against others that we have a certain nostalgia for. That is the only reason for my low ranking as I'm just not comfortable enough yet to rank it above anything else (with "Crash and Burn" being the one exception lol).

Our 4th winner is next to fall. Brad Paisley won the 4th Shuffle rankdown, beating out the likes of Patty Loveless ("High On Love"), LeAnn Rimes ("Some People"), and Josh Turner's "Angels Fall Sometimes". This also happened to be our Valentines Shuffle!
I think "We Danced" is a beautiful song and was happy to see it do so well in the 4th Shuffle, even if it wasn't my favorite amongst those songs. It ended up being my least favorite of this group of songs though as it is likely the song I've revisited the least.
I'm gonna do some reveals for Patty Loveless before revealing the next three together! We've got a three way tie!!!

and just like that we are down to our Top 5! Tomorrow night is Survivor night so I cannot promise I'll be able to finish this then but I'm gonna try. If this doesn't get wrapped up tomorrow night it'll get wrapped up on Thursday for sure!
Ironically the 3 songs that were part of this 3 way tie happened to be the first 3 winners in reverse order! At #8 sees Jo Dee Messina's album track "Let It Go" hold its own against smash hit singles both originally and in this rankdown. She was able to come ahead of the likes of LeAnn Rimes ("Commitment"), Patty Loveless ("I Don't Want To Feel Like That"), and surprisingly Sammy Kershaw's "Third Rate Romance"!
For Dolly Parton she won our first ever Christmas Shuffle and proves just how popular this song is by landing ahead of 4 non-holiday songs! "Hard Candy Christmas" is just one of those songs that seems to be destined to do well no matter what rankdown it is. Which Christmas songs will vie to win the second Christmas Shuffle? Find out later this month!
and lastly Rascal Flatts, the original Shuffle winner, with "These Days" just misses the Top 5! They surprised everyone when they came up ahead of Lee Ann Womack ("One's A Couple"), Carolyn Dawn Johnson ("Simple Life"), The Chicks ("Everybody Knows"), and probably most surprisingly Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova", which seemed to be the odds on favorite to win and then landed at #5.

(Hopefully Sydney or DeShawn goes)
