I honestly can't remember the last time I heard Trace's "Rough and Ready", but suffice to say it's a bit of a guilty pleasure even if it isn't something I ever seek out.
Martina's rendition of "At Last", on the other hand, is just meh.

No shame here in putting "Who's Your Daddy" in my top 3. Again this is another mindless guilty pleasure that isn't meant to be taken serioulsy.

I knew "At Last" wouldn't do too great. This song is just sooooooo dreary, regardless of who sings it. Martina's version is well-sung, as is to be expected. But not even she could take a song like this and make it stand out positively in a list like this.
This song is easily the most noteworthy example of me being disappointed by a Martina song on first listen. When it was released, I had never heard "At Last" before, so hers was my first exposure to it. I had no idea it was a cover of this super slow jazzy ballad. So when it started I was immediately like "wtf is this!!" 😂
To make matters worse, this one and "Together Again" were both newly released for the first time on a project that was only available at Hallmark stores. So I found a Hallmark store just to find this album. I was SO excited! Fortunately I wasn't as disappointed with "Together Again" as I was with "At Last", although I was still not in love with it.
I now realize they were both probably part of the Timeless recording sessions, as they all came out around the same time. So it makes sense that they would be covers of old songs with sparse production and old-sounding arrangements. But I was NOT expecting it the first time I heard "At Last" 😂
The song has grown on me through the years. It's still not a favorite from Martina, but her version is at least the best version of the song imo! But in a rankdown like this, there is just no comparison.

before I do anymore reveals I need to talk about the first 3 reveals.
"Rough and Ready" kinda surprised me when this song came up because I didn't realize I had added it to that playlist lol. This song came out at a time when I was a fan of Trace Adkins but now I've soured on him so much so it is hard for me to enjoy most of his music now. This one is probably one of those I don't think about anymore and I had actually forgot how it went until I listened to it for this lol. Happy it was #10
"At Last" is such a classic song and I love the original and always have. I remember when Martina started advertising the My Heart album for Hallmark and hearing that she covered this song made me so excited to get this album. I love her cover and I think she sounds incredible. Sad she is out so early but not surprised at all
lastly "Who's Your Daddy" is a guilty pleasure for me. I've always loved this song and I remember the first time I watched the video but overplay has definitely ruined my enjoyment of the song, hence my ranking.
Alright up next a couple people should be prepared to lose their #1!

I absolutely LOVE "Before She Does" and am disappointed to see it below "Rough and Ready" for some people tbh. Eric Church's first album is so good and this is a great lead off song for the album. I struggled with what to have as my #1 between my top 3, they were all so close for me. Sad this is out before a couple other songs tbh but I'll continue to enjoy this one while others look elsewhere for something to enjoy.

That song from David Nail was a pleasant surprise; I thought it worked wonderfully.
Pleasantly surprised that Rascal Flatts is still in this.

I’m a pretty big David Nail fan, but “Looking for a Good Time” isn’t particularly one of my favorites. This does give me a good excuse to go back and revisit one or two of his albums though! Pleasantly surprised that Rascal Flatts is still in this. Really? I think it’s the song most likely to win.

I mean they tend to have quite a few detractors here from what I've seen, so I was thinking they'd wind up being the ones to just miss out on the Top 5.

I’d very much consider him an underrated albums artist because through and through each one of his releases has been strong. My personal favorite happens to be I’m A Fire as there isn’t one bad song to be had on the album.

I haven't listened to his last two though or the EP he did unfortunately. I need to sit down and listen to them cause I'm sure I'll like them all a lot

David Nail is fantastic. One of the best male vocalists in country music, hands down. And he has the music to match -- his lyrics and the production job across his albums has always been totally top notch. I'm not surprised he never made it big, but I'm thankful that he at least had a handful of hits, though he honestly deserved way better.
Brett Young has kinda taken his place for me as far as current radio acts go, and he's been luckily much better received by radio and the general public.

when "Cowboy Casanova" came up during the shuffle I sighed because I was thinking this would be such a predictable winner. I had it at 8 because overplay has kinda done this song in for me but I do still love it, just love the other songs more. I expected to be the lowest rank for it so I was surprised it did as poorly as it did.
This means that our final four is:
"These Days" by Rascal Flatts "One's A Couple" by Lee Ann Womack "Everybody Knows" by The Chicks "Simple Life" by Carolyn Dawn Johnson
Which of these is gonna miss out on the top 3? Some more #1 ranks will be lost at #4...

as you all can see "These Days" was the #1 the entire time! I love this song and it has been nice to rediscover it recently.
Also absolutely loving "One's A Couple". Was recommended this song earlier this year for Lee Ann's singles rankdown and it just continues to grow on me. So happy it was able to do well.
also love "Simple Life" and "Everybody Knows", both keep growing on me more and more.
Shortly I will open a poll for everyone to help determine which theme I'll go with for the next Shuffle rankdown!

Lol @ the amount of #2 ranks for our #2 song. Guess that wound up fitting the results!
"These Days" is one of RF's all-time best. Great winner!
