Wasn't expecting January for Drake, that's a pretty long gap between lead single and album drop.

Wasn't expecting January for Drake, that's a pretty long gap between lead single and album drop. That's similar to the gap between God's Plan and Scorpion, Started from the Bottom and Nothing Was the Same. Also similar to the gap between Hotline Bling and Views, although that was never an intended lead. This is his usual timing.

I think that it isn't entirely impossible that the song with Abel could debut at #1 - with that being a possibility, was there ever such an occurrence where an artist replaced their #1 debut with another #1 debut? She hasn't yet debuted either at the top, but that would be a pretty interesting scenario imo. no. the closest was...Ariana ofc, with stuck with u (May 23) and Rain On Me (June 6). Overall, that situation only happened once (in 1995), when Mariah replaced Whitney. also, I'm pretty sure "positions" will be #1 next week, it will have an advantage because of the radio. idk, we'll see. Mariah debuted at #1, got replaced by Whitney who debuted at #1, who got replaced by Mariah who debuted at #1. Mariah nearly replaced herself there with 2 #1 debuts.

Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen will definitely get themselves a #1 next year Imagine if they ever collaborated, it would be huge. It's not even that much of a long shot, as they've made videos covering each other's songs before. Also, I can't imagine it wouldn't be good.

So Adele confirmed on SNL no new album yet because it is not finished but was so lovely to see her again and she had skit performing her hits, maybe a catalogue boost?
H.E.R's performances were good too, I hope one gets a boost.
I'm in the minority, I really like Positions

^How is a random country song beating Ariana grande ... If you had followed the album charts, you'd know that Luke Combs is far from a random country act. His debut, for instance, is almost top 20 after over three years.

If by some miracle Luke Combs beats Ariana Grande for the number one spot, that'll be a second time an underdog blocked a Scooter backed artist after Roddy Ricch blocked Yummy.
It's always nice to see an underdog story.

Didnβt know we degraded Ariana down to βscooter-backed artistβ lol. Either way I think they both deserve this #1, but I really hope Ariana pulls through just because itβs her lead single

I'm surprised "positions" got such a negative response at the beginning of this thread. Sure, it's not as grandiose as her previous lead singles, but it's a nice, lowkey pop R&B track with great melodies, a well-executed premise, and a fantastic music video accompanying it.
Coming after the cathartic "thank u, next" era, it seems fitting that she would opt for something simpler this time around. But it's such a catchy tune!
On another note, I'm so thrilled to see Luke Combs potentially debuting in the top 3. That was so unexpected, but highly deserved!

Pretty much the exact same way Morgan Wallen got 7 Summers to debut in the Top 10. Although fortunately for Luke Combs, the charts are a lot weaker now than they were when 7 Summers debuted and could only get #6. Forever After All is pretty much guaranteed at least a Top 3 spot.

Really hope Jack Harlow has a sustainable career from here. The only notable white rappers that got big in the 2010s were Macklemore, Iggy Azalea, and G-Eazy, plus Machine Gun Kelly who's not even making rap music right now.
