I heard this life is just a play with no rehearsal I wonder will this be my final act tonight And tell me what's the price of fame? Am I a sinner with my skirt on the ground?"Q.U.E.E.N." was the lead single from Janelle Monae's 2nd album The Electric Lady. It's a reflection on various social themes such as religion, sex, the role of women and their treatment in society. It was widely acclaimed and reached #47 on the R&B chart. 14. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I thought I'd already revealed the song at #15 so I made a mistake. "Q.U.E.E.N." was actually #14 and this next one is the #15.

So tell me Slim what you wanna do? When you know I'm in love with you Every time that I turn around Look for you but you can't be foundProduced by 9th Wonder around a sample of Nancy Wilson's "I'm in Love," "Honey" was Erykah's lead single from New Amerykah Part One (4th World War). The song is amazing, but perhaps it's best known for its acclaimed music video, which won one of the VMAs it was nominated for (Best Direction) and was also up for a Grammy. In it, Erykah pays hommage to classic records and imagery from Diana Ross, Labelle, Rufus, Nas, Minnie Ripperton and Grace Jones to name a few. 12. WTF @ "Danger" not getting into Top 10. It's literally the best cut from Worldwide Underground.
"Honey"'s music video is iconic. I always wonder why it, being the lead single, was a bonus track of that album.

Still a solid Top 10. I'll trade "Love of My Life" and "Window Seat" for "Danger" and "Honey" though.

FLAWLESS, IF OBVIOUS, TOP 10!
Fun fact: I was playing the game when I ranked Danger so low. It's probably in my top 3 of Erykah songs LOL. I just assumed it wouldn't be popular and...I was right.

I'm scared to know what Soulsista and @antigonerising tanked. Is it one of two collaborations?

I'm scared to know what Soulsista and @antigonerising tanked. Is it one of two collaborations? Not a collab, not for me anyway. I don't dislike my #19, and I could be wrong about it being the same song Soulsista ranked at the bottom; it's just really surprising to me that it managed to make it past multiple other Erykah classics. I have two other non-top 10s remaining but those two making it this far don't surprise me at all; they were very close to being in my own top 10.

How the fuck is "Danger" below "Back in The Day (Puff)" AND not in the Top 10? Is it because she never got a music video together so you heauxs have less nostalgic attachment to it??

Yas @ my entire top 5 still in. My #20 really made the Top 10 huh 👀 Mine did too but with how good Erykah Badu's material is it was like still a solid B for me at worst, lol.

"Honey"'s music video is iconic. I always wonder why it, being the lead single, was a bonus track of that album. This has always bothered me too! Because it didn't fit the album's overall theme; she knew Motown would ask her about a "single" so she added it but insisted it be a hidden track to reinforce the notion that she don't give a fuck about singles. 13. Danger Points: 147 Average: 11,200 Standard deviation: 6,505Erykah sampled herself and wrote an uptempo sequel to the gorgeous "Otherside of the Game" for her 2003 album Worldwide Underground. It was actually part of a trilogy; Gone Baby, Don't Be Long was the third part (TIR it had a video, too).

If you don't worry 'bout where I been or who I saw or What club I went to with my homies Baby don't worry you know that you got me"You Got Me" was the first single released from The Roots' Things Fall Apart album. The song was co-written by Jill Scott and she initially sang the hook, but the label chose Erykha because they felt Jill wasn't as established or mainstream for radio appeal. It reached #39 on the Hot 100 and it's still one of the smoothest Rap songs from the 90s. Drake interpolated the hook on his song "6 Man." 10. You Got Me (The Roots feat. I did not know what to do with You Got Me (or Q.U.E.E.N.) and I don't think I would have been at peace with whatever decision I made. I LOVE both of those songs, but Erykah is only a feature on them so I didn't feel quite right giving them top five space over her own stuff. Didn't want to outright tank them and eventually settled on putting them in the upper-teens. Not at all mad to see one of them eke out a top 10 position, though.

I love The Roots but "You Got Me" has never been one of my favorites; something about it doesn't quite pop out compared to tracks like "In The Music", "The Next Movement", "Episodes", etc.
