Rihanna, Taylor, Ariana (& Britney) are obvious picks here but I only see one of them doing the show and that’s Ariana. I would love to see Carrie co-headline with another country singer (or Kelly of course). But hear me out: Pink. She would absolutely smash it

I can't see Ariana Grande headlining the Halftime show on her own. She's a very talented singer, and has the hits, but she's never been an engaging perfomer for a stadium/arena setting, and her stage presence leaves much to be desired - Speaking as a fan here.
Now, I can definitely see her co-headlining or being a special guest alongside a more dynamic performer like Nicki Minaj. That would be fun.
It feels kind of disrespectful thinking about future performers when The Weeknd literally just performed (and I, for one, really enjoyed his show), but that's just the human nature of always looking forward to what's next. Anyway, Taylor Swift and Rihanna are long due to perform, and they would definitely deliver. Drake could likely perform in the future as well, and while I don't have much hopes for him on his own, he would likely bring some exciting guests.
And while I often forget he's still an A-lister, yeah, Justin Bieber is a likely contender as well. He's on the same position as Ariana for me, but at least if he gets the gig, we can expect Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, or Ariana Grande as special guests, which will definitely make it more interesting. 😊

Maybe not Ed Sheeran, since some folks here have a weird hate-boner for guys with acoustic guitars (for me, Ed easily stands out among his peers, though, and I would love to see him joining in for "Love Yourself" and hell, even an acoustic version of "I Don't Care" + "Shape Of You" with Bieber).
Let me hide before they bring out the pitchforks to crucify me for the blasphemous suggestion
But Post Malone would definitely make it more interesting. He's not the most consistent live performer out there, I agree, but his catalogue would provide a nice contrast from Bieber's, especially with cuts like "Better Now", "Sunflower", and "Wow.". And they have such a nice bromance camaraderie onstage, which would provide for some lovely moments.

If the special guests are what make the primary performer's show interesting, that primary performer shouldn't be headlining.

She's a very talented singer, and has the hits, but she's never been an engaging perfomer for a stadium/arena setting, and her stage presence leaves much to be desired - Speaking as a fan here. That's funny, that's exactly how I would describe The Weeknd, yet he just did it. Drake would be so boring. He has the hits but what's he gonna do on stage for 15 minutes? Other than recreating the Hotline Bling video I can't recall anything else that could be memorable on a show of this scale. Kelly has the voice but can she put on a show? This is more about the fireworks and the choreo rather than the voices (Shakira and JLo mostly lipped and no one cared). I feel the same way about Adele, although she's such a huge superstar that maybe she could get away with it? Maybe with a lot of dancers? Carrie feels too local tbh. Post-Madonna they have moved into a poppier and more worldwide friendly show. (Especially more so now, after the numbers that JLo and Shakira pulled on Youtube). Post Malone could be cool. I really want Rihanna and Taylor to do it one day too. P!nk could be dope (she declined once already). I guess Bieber could do it? I don't really watch his live performances so I can't tell if he's still delivering in that aspect, but he's got the hits, and I seem to recall him having some good choreo during Purpose. Of our current new-ish hitmakers, I could see Harry Styles and Dua Lipa if they continue getting hits during the next decade or so; Harry has that stage presence already and Dua is slowly improving after a rocky start to the whole live performance thing. Lizzo could be fun, she brings an unexpected fun factor, but she'll need more than two hits to get a invitation. Doja is entirely premature right now, but if she keeps getting hits? maybe; she brings visuals and showmanship to her performances. Cardi is probably a bit too R rated for this show unless it's on a limited, guest capacity (she was apparently invited to M5's show). I was gonna say it's weird that Nicki is never even been a guest but then I remembered that hideous Madonna song. Let me block that from my mind again.

Choco Good assessment there. And yeah, I brought up Drake mostly because of the star power he could bring with his guests, but I am also against a solo show. Best case scenario would have him as a co-headliner, I believe. Or a guest for Rihanna to perform the "What's My Name"/"Work"/"Take Care" trifecta, but I'm not sure if they are on good terms. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on your reply, though, but I see where you're coming from. I do think The Weeknd benefitted from great elements surrounding his set, interactions with the camera, and this feeling of genuinely having fun throughout to make up for his solid but not excellent stage presence. Maybe the same could happen for Ariana if she ever gets the gig. But regardless, she's pretty low on my personal list of contenders. It's too early to tell for the rest, but I would live for a Lizzo guest appearance. Few current maistream performers are so charismatic and captivating as her. Doja Cat would also be a great pick for a future guest spot. As for Harry and Dua, I could see them participating on a collective show like those back in the early 2000s, but indeed, only time will tell how it goes for them.

Yeah I don't see Rihanna collaborating with Drake anytime soon... (although she did do two more tracks with Chris after a much worse split so who knows).

As far as country is concerned, Chris Stapleton would be excellent for the Super Bowl.

As far as country is concerned, Chris Stapleton would be excellent for the Super Bowl. Agreed - but he couldn’t carry it alone for the same reason Carrie Underwood might not (even though she’s also a logical choice). But now that I think about it, I wonder how a Stapleton/Post Malone lineup would go? They’re different enough to attract a wide audience and while there’s little overlap in their sound, I could see them both sharing the stage for a song or two between their individual sets.

Yeah, I don't really think any one artist could go at it alone, unless their production was entirely massive - such as what Abel and Katy did. Chris is featured on Ed Sheeran's Song with Bruno Mars, that could be a good moment. Post Malone is a great suggestion too. Chris has collaborated with a lot of artists - I'm sure he could definitely deliver a solid show. He even has a song with P!nk!

Not these Chris Stapleton recommendations...you all really want another snoozefest.
Carrie will give us vocals, drama, visuals, legs....

The Weeknd Super Bowl Halftime Documentary Coming to Showtime By Gil Kaufman 2/12/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/news/9525275/the-weeknd-super-bowl-halftime-documentary-announcement/What goes into making one of the biggest musical productions of the year? Showtime is pulling back the curtain on the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show in an upcoming documentary. The Show, directed by Emmy nominee Nadia Hallgren (Becoming), will shed light on the tireless hours, days and months of collaboration that went into The Weeknd's hit-packed performance during an unpredictable and tumultuous year. “The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is undoubtedly the world’s biggest stage, producing the most viewed and talked about moment in music every single year,” said Todd Kaplan, vp of marketing at Pepsi in a press statement. "The pressure to deliver an iconic, memorable and entertaining performance is felt well beyond the artist, as there are a number of people – behind the scenes – who are vital to its success. With our new documentary coming to Showtime, we are taking fans on the emotional and thrilling journey of what it takes to make the biggest show of the year – with the added complexity of doing so amidst a global pandemic. With Jesse Collins and a number of super-talented creatives at the helm, The Show chronicles all the drama and hard work that goes into successfully pulling off a show of this magnitude.” This year marked the second collaboration between the NFL and Roc Nation on the the halftime show, with Collins becoming the first Black executive producer of the extravaganza. "We get a window into the process of a diverse team of executives and creatives working at the highest level, in front of and behind the camera," said Hallgren in the statement. "It’s fun to see these masters at work while they also uplift others. I hope this can inspire people to pursue big dreams.” The Show is produced by the Pepsi in-house content studio and Boardwalk Pictures (Cheer, Chef’s Table) and will premiere later this year.

Call me a stan, but I want P!nk. It's not just the stan in you. It's the perfect choice. Her shows are already big spectacles, I'd imagine she'd go a million percent all out on a Super Bowl show. The only other musician that has yet to do it that I could see matching P!nk's energy, visuals, and viewer-friendly setlist is Rihanna. Granted, there are plenty of very viable options: Taylor Swift, Usher (he's only been a guest so far, which is surprising tbh), Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber, Eminem, Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran, Green Day, Will Smith, Post Malone, Drake, etc. but P!nk and Rihanna really do feel like the most glaringly obvious at putting on the most widely appealing, visually spectacular shows. In a perfect world, I would have included Britney Spears in that S-tier with P!nk and Rihanna, but... well... that ain't happening anytime soon. Which reminds me, imagine if Britney was able to and we got P!nk and Beyoncé (yes, for a third time) to show up with her to recreate their iconic Super Bowl Pepsi commercial.

She is stiff. Rihanna isnt dynamic performer either but she has global songs and isnt too stiff and has improved her stage presence over the years so I'm good with her. Taylor has the songs people like but she isnt a entertainer so her show would be boring. Pink is my first choice, Rihanna and Drake headlining together would be iconic

I agree on Pink. I'd love if she had Miley as a special guest and they sung a rock song together.
Also fun would be "Lady Marmalade" with Ariana, Nicki Minaj and Mariah.
