Really? This sounds like Babyface track produced by Babyface. I wish they would have looked for some fresh new voices for their project. Babyface sounds so tired and out.

Competing with Raiche's "Pick A Side" for most added this week at Urban AC. This is currently #2 Taking Off and the second greatest gainer.

Lead single from their debut album Jam and Lewis Vol. 1
This is decent. It sounds like typical Babyface.
I'm sure an adds date for UAC is coming shortly

There's something always-appealing about anything babyface. I like it. That said, I feel like this is 100% Babyface, which isn't what I wanted.

Really? My measuring stick of if it sounds like true Jam & Lewis is whether I could hear Janet singing over the beat and production, which I absolutely can.
The VOCAL production and layering is 100% Babyface though.

The VOCAL production and layering is 100% Babyface though. I agree. I thought the same thing. The production sounds like Babyface but also has elements of early-to mid-00s Jimmy and Terry. I could see them doing a song like this for Janet or Usher around 2004 (sounds Confessions/ Damita Jo period JJ&TL to me).

I searched and couldn't find one anyway I'm just now noticing that the version I posted is shorter so it must be the radio edit. I could see something like this being recorded for use on Damita Jo.

Would have loved to hear Toni on this...maybe even as a duet. I really like Babyface (who doesn't?) but I prefer him as a songwriter/producer as opposed to a lead vocalist. Still, love the song!!

Jimmy and Terry have been doing interviews to promote the project, and Jimmy said on IG Live last night that people told them this sounds more like a Babyface record than what people expect from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis but that that’s the concept of the album. He said what they wanted to do with this project was produce a bunch of these classic acts in a style that would remind people of why they fell in love with the acts in the first place. So basically this sounds like a throwback Babyface record because that was exactly what they were aiming for with it.
