90’s country singer Doug Supernaw has passed away at age 60 after a battle with cancer. He’s well known for his #1 single “I Don’t Call Him Daddy” and top 10 singles “Reno” and “Not Enough Hours In The Night” (which was my favorite hit of his).

Even knowing this was coming it still sucks. Was disappointed when he disappeared years ago, but pleasantly surprised when he came back a few years ago and released an album with hits and a few new ones. But I will always remember him for letting LeAnn Rimes come back out and sing "Blue" at a show I went to years ago when her part of the show was cut short for whatever reason. Never did find out why she was cut short since weather was fine. But for him to do that for someone just getting started was class.

I remember getting the Tim McGraw Everywhere CD for Christmas and along with it in the wrapping was Doug Supernaw's CD. I felt it was so random because of how much I wanted Tim and this other man's album was wrapped with it, but I grew to love it and Reno has always been one of my favorites. ☹️ RIP.

He played the club my Dad played in the house band at. I loved him so I went and carried my CD cover to get signed. It being a club show, he was very laid back and stated asking what we wanted to hear. I yelled "Fire In the Rain!" He ask if I knew the words and I said yes so he ask me up in stage to help him! I sang harmony on the chorus and after the show we shot pool for a couple of hours. He signed my CD and thanked me for requesting a song that he had written that no one knew! Great guy!

Unless it’s a totally different song “ A Fire In The Rain” was not written by Doug. It was written by Rick Giles and Amanda Hunt Taylor. The song is found on his third album You Still Got Me.
