They should’ve started at 400k tbh, the bundle rule changes doesn’t particularly effect them, combined with the fact that they actually having some streaming momentum with Dynamite.

Dynamite really just showed their fans actually know how to 'rig'/drive up the chart numbers, and they're more than ready to this time around. So yeah, any 'low balling' predictions should've at the very least be as much as their previous album. They're definitely doing more this time.

Ahhh! Another week of everyone on here being mad. Love it! Anyways, I’m curious to see if it will do better than MOTS7. They’re only releasing 1 album that’s $50. I’m excited. The pre-order number is around 2.6million, im excited to see what the sales will be like by the end of the year.

I;m no BTS fan, though I say, bring on those hefty numbers. Good or the industry.

Honestly I'm expecting 600-700k. So apparently this album only has one deluxe version which costs US$35 per album? You can do your multiplier from there and get 600-700k

HITS being annoying by doing a rather low prediction so they can keep increasing the numbers through the week to drive more traffic... no way this does lower than the previous album.

Since BTS is going to perform Dynamite once again at the AMAs on Sunday, the hype for them will be magnified even more after that. They definitely win the Favorite Social Artist and probably the Favorite Group or Duo - Pop/Rock as well.

I'm not sure how much everyone knows about South Korean culture, but I'll go ahead and educate everyone that doesn't, as it pertains to BTS.
While I am not the biggest fan of BTS and their music, I am happy that they are getting the spotlight they are right now as it won't last forever, but not because of people naturally losing interest in them over time. In South Korea, every male is required by law to be conscripted into the army for 2+ years due to the conflict with North Korea. This happens most of the time before they reach the age of 30. As you can imagine, whether they want to or not, they have no choice but to go, regardless of whether they are famous actors, young CEO's, or, in this case, GIGANTIC worldwide pop stars. Jin, a member of the group, is 28 years old, thus he will have to be conscripted within the next 2 years.
Now, sometimes in Korea, if you're successful enough by spreading Korean culture to the world or represent Korea in the highest way possible, you can can get a special exemption from the government saying you don't have to go into the military. For example, when South Korea won the Asian Games (soccer tournament) in 2018, the government excluded the whole team from doing compulsory national service. Even though I think everyone on here can say that BTS has done a lot for Korea by representing them, maybe even more than the National Soccer Team, the culture minister here said that all 7 members will have to take part in the military. (I don't really understand it myself, cause out of everyone possible, I think they should be exempt, but it's whatever.)
The age range of BTS is 22-28, so they be will be participating in the army at different times. This can be bad for the future of BTS, as there will be no timetable for when they will all be together again. Therefore, the careers of male KPOP groups, not just BTS, but in general, can be derailed and sometimes can be fatal as well. For example, BIGBANG, who was the biggest and most influential boy band in Korea in the early 2010's, had one of their members be conscripted a couple years ago and they have never been able to regain what they had, especially cause after that happened, BTS blew up.
BTS may not be getting the same success in a couple years time and could soon become irrelevant with other members being drafted soon as well. So while I don't like the sales tactics of releasing 10 different remixes to the same song, I am happy for them and their success cause it won't last forever.
So if they get close to 500k on their first week, I will be really excited they were able to do something like that and I feel everyone else should too.

Isn't army going to focus on getting all songs top 8 or whatever? I don't see the album doing 700k if they plan on splitting the cost between album tracks and the album itself

Not sure if it’s possible but we’re going to try. Also, I doubt the sales will reach 700k. In KPop it’s pretty common for there there to be more than one version of an album but this album is only one and it’s pretty expensive. If it does 400k I’ll be super surprised but also super happy.

The one thing that I find admirable is how educated army is about album sales. Them trying to chart all 8 tracks doesn’t mean just buying 8 tracks. They’ll be 8+ 2 or more in order to convert that into an album unit too.
I actually think this Hits number is probably close with the cost of the album. There’s just 1 version and that’s it.

Listen y’all, I know many of you don’t like them but I’m half way through the album and it’s one of my favorite theyve ever released.

My issue with BTS this week is that I'm a much bigger fan of Megan Thee Stallion. (But she knew BTS would be releasing today when she announced her album, so I'm not gonna beat myself up over it.)
BTS should try to sell as much as they can this week, as I don't think the album will have much longevity. Doing numbers that challenge people like The Weeknd and Taylor Swift would be iconic for them, but I will be more conservative (for once in my life, lol) and say they'll probably end up with a figure just south of 500k. I'm thinking 470-490k range.

The Korean charts are reporting that it’s the fasted album to reach 1million sales (30 minutes) on their charts. Now I’m wondering if they can actually break the 500k sales mark in the US.

D2C is where bulk of their sales came from usually, so that's probably what they're referring to. don't know how much this will change things (plus they can always "limited edition" stuff throughout the week)

Last non-music related quote but it’s funny you brought this up because news just broke regarding this. So the oldest member was technically supposed to enlist at the end of this year / beginning of next year due to his age (28) but the government sector in charge of military enlistments just voted to approve them to postpone it for two years due to their contributions of spreading national pride. Good for them!

This new album is probably some of their best work and it’s only 7 songs + their “skit”

If they can get people to drop $46 for 7 songs available for free on Youtube I say go for it.
