"Don't Make Me Beg" was released as the first single from Steve Holy's debut album Blue Moon and peaked at No. 29 on the country charts. Once this found itself in the bottom 10, it remained there for the rest of its run with it picking up four bottom 5 rankings including bboat11's last place.

"Run Away" was released as the third and final single from Shane McAnally's self-titled debut album. The song was a minor Top 50 hit in early 2000. This clocks in as our seventh least polarizing song with the majority of the group placing this at or near their top 100. And despite this not picking up any bottom 10 rankings, it remained locked in as such for the majority of its run.

"Grow Young with You" was released as the Coley's first single for RCA Records and was a minor Top 50 hit for her in 2000. The song was also included in the soundtrack to the 2000 film Where the Heart Is. A second single entitled "Who I Am to You" followed, but McCabe never released an album. She also co-wrote SHeDAISY's 2001 single "Lucky 4 You (Tonight I'm Just Me)." This would spend much of its time down near the bottom 5 and even briefly flirted with the bottom 2. It managed to finish as our final song in the bottom 10 as it picked up a pair of rankings in the top half from both .indulgecountry and toomuchboy. And in what has been a rough start for 🌺CountryLineDancer, he now also departs with a top 25 after already losing another top 30 and a near top 10.

Only Curb Records could come to the conclusion that "Don't Make Me Beg" made sense as a debut single for a new artist.

Only Curb Records could come to the conclusion that "Don't Make Me Beg" made sense as a debut single for a new artist. I remember when "Don't Make Me Beg" came out that it was not what Curb originally sent as the first single. I believe it might have been "Blue Moon" but they sent multiple songs to radio to introduce him or something like that and radio liked "Don't Make Me Beg" and pushed for that to be released. Remember listening to Steve in an interview talking about that and that it was similar to LeAnn Rimes with "Blue" not being the song initially sent as the first single. Wish I could remember where I heard this lol

Nah pretty bad start. I was not familiar with many of the songs in this list (yeah I was like 1 year old lol), but I definitely enjoyed "800 Pound Jesus", so not happy to see it leaving in the bottom 3. I can top that…I wasn’t even born until the tail end of this year!!!

I'm a big Steve Holy fan, but yeah that was a weird choice, especially considering the rest of the Blue Moon album. It's not bad, but very polarizing, even for back then. The only single of his I like less is "Men Buy the Drinks (Girls Call the Shots)."

I like Steve Holy too but "Don't Make Me Beg' is grating, specifically the chorus. Plus, the lyrics are atrocious. I actually thought this was a song I liked, and maybe I did back in the day, but re-listening to it for this I wasn't feeling it.

I've never liked Steve Holy. He has very few songs I can tolerate, and "Beg" was not one of them, lol.
This is off to a solid and expected start. The Coley McCabe song was a nice discovery, but the only thing we've lost so far that I wouldn't have mind seeing stay in longer. That said, it was still nothing to be upset about losing early, lol.

"Swimming In Champagne" is the title track to Eric Heatherly's debut album on Mercury Nashville which was produced by Keith Stegall. Released as the second single, it was a minor Top 50 hit in mid-2000. Due to a restructuring of Mercury Nashville's parent company, the album received minimal promotion which also saw the second album he recorded for the label not get released. Heatherly was dropped from the label by 2002 and signed to DreamWorks Records' Nashville division. His third album, to be titled Sometimes It's Just Your Time, was to have been released in late 2002. Its lead-off single ("The Last Man Committed") entered the country music chart; although promotional advance copies of the album, Sometimes It's Just Your Time, had been issued, it was ultimately unreleased as well. This reached its highest position of the rankdown at the very outset thanks to a near top 20 from Kanenrá:ke as well as a top 40 from myself. The majority of the group, though, would wind up placing this somewhere at or near their top 100. Four others lose a bottom 10 ranking including ccarter1023's last place.

"Goodbye Is The Wrong Way To Go" is... pretty, but it also falls flat for me. Idk it's boring lol. It's not bad tho.
