I guess radio is here for Two Dua songs considering "Levitating" has been getting +30 spins each day! Personally I have really grown to like this song a lot. It's stayed at the top of my playlist for the last two weeks or so and I've only grew to like it more and more. At the time it came out I don't think I was done with "Levitating" yet and if I was going to be getting another single it better be a dance bop. Well it wasn't and after the disappointment went away I grew to love "We're Good".
Just looked at it's callouts and there nothing to write home about. The burn rate is a little heavy for it's familiarity. It appears to be just about no ones favorite and is kind of in the middle for it's negative rating. As of now if it was at it's "pop potential" score's position it would be at num.12. It's num.16 out of 17 now.

Pay for play can only take you so far (see: "Yummy"). Which is why this song is struggling to go top 10 in spite of three huge prior hits.
If the intention is to make it seem like Dua is some sort of industry plant I would probably redirect you to the Spotify album charts where her year old album keeps slaying though.

It also should be considered that the Rolling Stone article is related to Hot AC and not Pop radio.

There are so many songs ahead of this that are plummeting. If it can hold on for another week or two it might just get sucked into the top 10.

#23 on iTunes #69 on Spotify #147 on Apple Music
Levitating still is definitely overshadowing this one to some extent though I also wouldn't be surprised if it just is not meshing so great with audiences I still enjoy the song though and its a welcomed change of pace

It also should be considered that the Rolling Stone article is related to Hot AC and not Pop radio. Not trying to be sassy, but do we really think the process of pay for play does not extend to other formats? That was just one leaked text chain from one indie promoter at one format, and it already implicates Dua www.digitalmusicnews.com/2019/08/08/radio-payola/It's rampant

The idea that something like "drivers license", "Peaches" or even "Blinding Lights" needed payola because nothing can get into Top 15 without payments is downright hilarious.

The idea that something like "drivers license", "Peaches" or even "Blinding Lights" needed payola because nothing can get into Top 15 without payments is downright hilarious. Is it really? Good Days was huge on streaming platforms and SZA is a name brand at this point. Pop didnt even take it top 30 and it was a top ten hit. Dont you think payola would have solved that if RCA wanted? RCA decided to invest in a twofer with Doja ft. SZA instead. I understand that you guys like to watch the charts, but what you're really watching is high priority artists whose labels have coordinated campaigns across spotify, youtube, apple, radio, and even tiktok to keep them at a high level of performance. Let's not be naive. Dua and almost every other top act use payola. It's just that their labels expect the payouts to outweigh the cost once they become A list.

SZA's team completely mishandled that song. They didn't even expect it to be a hit, the video was only greenlit after the track smashed and they had no intention of pushing it to radio. It hasn't even done well on other formats.
I understand your argument but I think that was a bad example.

Dua is not using payola for this song. This song is hanging around because there's some weak songs in the top 20. Not much movement happening.

This low selling, average streaming song, with poor callout scores has payola as do most songs near the top of the radio charts.
That’s the reality and how the industry works

...back on topic, how well did this song in callouts this week?? and I think Levitating (even in recurrentland) killed/overshadowed We're Good.
