Sis needs to release the vinyl for this ASAP. I will order that so fast. I don't even need to hear the album.

Omg generous queen keeping her fans fed 😭 Think it's her generous fans that are keeping TS well-fed. How many editions of folklore were released? Oh, and Taylor's marketing brilliance continues to impress. I truly thought it was a parody when I saw the click-bait on a mainstream news site. Good for her creating music she obviously loves.

I think this and folklore is ultimately what will elevate Taylor to new heights. Even if they aren’t huge hitmakers or lengthy eras, they’ve dominated the conversation and were delivered in different ways from the norm. If we remember when Beyoncé dropped her surprise album almost exactly 7 years ago, that was what seemed to cement her unreachable status.
For both, they were almost at a place in their career where they earned the hits and were beginning a decline but then both went the unexpected route with something unexpected, both promotional-wise and in their sound. Both had smashing first weeks, both had decent longevity album-wise with minimal singles-activity and promo for the eras was relatively short (Beyoncé extended hers with remixes and a few new songs) but they carried their relevance far beyond what a normal era promo would have. I think situations like these speak to the artists’ willingness to be innovative and do something different from the accepted norm, which is what makes it such a big deal.
But as we’ve seen with other surprise releases, not everyone can pull it off. I think an artist has to be a certain point in their career where people are still interested but at the point of possibly moving on. Like, I could see this strategy working well for Gaga or even the new releases for Bruno Mars or The Weeknd. (The Weeknd is arguably at or nearing his peak now so he could save this tactic for after his next album). In some ways, it’s almost a career saver, in others, it’s a career enhancer.

Apparently Dorothea and Marjorie is a story about two young sisters, one of whom went missing in the 1930's in Pennsylvania. I am extremely intrigued by this. It's likely she will tackle much darker subject matters on this album. Isn't Marjorie Taylor's grandmother? Is she the same Marjore who had a sister go missing? EDIT: My dumbass read this wrong. Marjorie is the one who went missing, so obviously this is not the same one as Taylor's grandma.

OMGGG i didnt even receive my Folklore vinyl yet Right?? To do my part to support Taylor, I ordered a digital copy to be sent to my friend Alyssa (I also ordered her the folklore CD, which she received), but I am going to hold off on a copy for myself until she at least puts the vinyl up for order with the digital download included like she did for folklore.

I wish she would have waited until January to release the album. It for some reason bothers me that it's in the same calendar year lol.

So I guess the Apple special is going to have performances from Evermore and not Folklore like we thought it would. Gagged. Curious to see how this does on the charts, especially with a Christmas top 10 on the Hot 100 and no more bundles. I'm guessing/hoping there's only the digital edition right now to encourage pre-orders of that, with physical editions coming later to maximize sales? (EDIT: her insta post mentions physical deluxe editions, so ya, guess they're coming later) Yeah, not sure about the Hot 100 but I think she'll be able to chart ahead of any Christmas albums on 2nd week right? And then 3rd week, the Christmas albums only have one day (the 25th) where they'll be streamed heavily.

I truly thought it was a parody when I saw the click-bait on a mainstream news site. Good for her creating music she obviously loves. At this point I truly doubt she’s making it for the money. That's what makes Taylor so unique - she's an extremely talented musician AND a savvy businessperson. Her ability to sell music (digital, CD, vinyl, multiple deluxe versions, etc.) and merchandise/tickets provides her artistic freedom and the ability to choose her business partners. The bottom line is that commercial music is a business. If Taylor's master were simply art.... But Taylor has proven that she will sacrifice coin for a more important cause. The reputation era was delayed at least 2 months because of her trial. That's why the rollout was so compressed and messy.

I don't feel like folklore is over with this album release. She said evermore is a sister album, so I kind of see them coexisting to some degree, and regardless folklore is still pulling big numbers and will get a big boost from this album release. The Grammy's are still coming up for folklore, and if she performs at the Grammy's, it will probably be a folklore song and not an evermore song as she has previously said she likes to perform songs that are nominated (or from the nominated album). I think folklore and evermore are kind of one big era with two albums.

I think folklore and evermore are kind of one big era with two albums. I mean Folklore has pretty much done its job. It re-established her sound and improved her image, spent 8 weeks at no. 1 and should do 20 weeks in the top ten, had a no. 1 hit, has over a billion Spotify streams, is eligible for 2× platinum, was widely acclaimed, and is likely to earn many Grammy's. I wouldn't mind her shifting focus completely to Evermore, though I think she'll move on to the rerecordings.

I would be concerned about the amount of money they have generated but Willow will probably debut at no. 3 at best anyway so I am like whatever.

She took me to the lakes where all the poets went to die and we never left. Really excited for this, especially as a sister album and extension of folklore.

‘willow’ definitely has a chance to debut at #1. The song is the first on the tracklist and is bound to have a very strong start on streaming because of that and usual promo. It will also be serviced to Pop radio immediately after the release which makes me think the song is a little more poppy than the rest of the record (like ‘the 1’).
Also, if the race ends up being extremely close her team will definitely pull something like the discounted version of ‘cardigan’. I just hope it’s a song that sticks to be honest.

I love this “I do what I want, when I want” Taylor that’s happening.
Wondering how similar it’ll be - hoping for a nice alternative sound but a few more catchy melodies (august and seven)

Yes Taylor! Coming for that back to back AOTY Grammy win.
Hoping "Willow" can debut at #1 on the Hot 100. I wonder what the sales would be like? Perhaps she could flirt with 1 million again given how close we are to Xmas? Perhaps Christmas week if physicals/vinyls etc are available then.
