Yes Taylor! Coming for that back to back AOTY Grammy win. Hoping "Willow" can debut at #1 on the Hot 100. I wonder what the sales would be like? Perhaps she could flirt with 1 million again given how close we are to Xmas? Perhaps Christmas week if physicals/vinyls etc are available then. Adele is dropping next year so this is going to be their 3rd back to back AOTY win

Iβm not as certain that willow can debut at number one. I think it could have a strong debut but even if it wasnβt the holidays, I feel like people kind of have an idea of what to expect with willow where cardigan was more of a novel thing.
As for promo, I think we can fuse the albums together as a continued era. As far as live performances (like the Grammys), I think sheβll do what makes sense (something from folklore at the Grammys, something from evermore on a SNL, talk show-type setting), but as far as singles and possible videos, Iβd say the focus will move to evermore.

I would be concerned about the amount of money they have generated but Willow will probably debut at no. 3 at best anyway so I am like whatever. i think ''willow'' has a chance TBT to when debuting at #1 was actually a rare & extremely difficult feat. How many #1 debuts have we seen in the last year alone?

I don't see a number 1 debut for "Willow". The novelty factor isn't there this go around so I doubt the figures will be as big. #1 album debut is in the bag however. Without bundling and again, without the novelty factor, I could see the abum selling north of 400-450k.
I see evermore as a continuation of the folklore era. Like two halves of a whole as someone said before, especially since Taylor referenced it as a sister album. Same writers/people working on this (with a few new additions) and likely songs similar in production and tone where you could play both back to back and the vibe would remain intact.

The album that never ends... I mean 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY' out now!

All I know is based on the new rules and the way Taylor basically owns the music industry, whatever she debuts with will be the highest sales figures for the future (sans Adele). Nobody ever sells as much as they do and if the numbers for Taylor dwindle (let's say 500,000) that means absolutely nobody will ever go over that again (again sans Adele).

Interesting perspective which Iβm sure is true but goes to show how secretive it really was.

She is releasing this right when Grammy voters will be submitting their ballots. Sheβs brilliant.

I know she said it's a continuation of folklore but I think she's way too intelligent to make an album that sounds too much like it. What if it has the same themes but from a different perspective aka different sound?
I don't know if it would have fit thematically but if the cover had a house burning down in the background instead of that grove it'd hit way harder. Or even the trees themselves but I guess we don't want Green Peace up in her ass with the Grammy's right around the corner. Still like it though.

The reputation era was delayed at least 2 months because of her trial. That's why the rollout was so compressed and messy. do we have a reliable source for this? her album rollouts before that always started around that time. The video was filmed in May, but the trial got underway and didn't conclude until early August. Obviously, she had to hold the release for a couple of weeks after the verdict. The reason why it makes sense is that ...RFI was released about 10 days later because of the tie-in with ABC's Saturday Night Football promotional campaign/pre-order. I suspect the original timing was late-July to give LWYMMD 5-6 weeks before RFI/pre-order. Everything was so rushed and compressed for LWYMMD.

Interesting perspective which Iβm sure is true but goes to show how secretive it really was. Wah fucking wah. A lot of people donβt have the money (or job) this year to even go Xmas shopping. And I bet you a lot of people who donβt, are looking to the simple pleasures and surprises in life to distract them from this years chaos, Taylorβs surprise album drops being one of them.

Lol his tweet reeks of privilege. Oh sorry, Taylor is trying to uplift millions of people during a global pandemic. She literally brings joy through her music and helps people through rough times. But no, Taylor should wait until it fits into his schedule, until he can get first dibs at a review to garner more hits to his jobβs website... itβs two weeks from Christmas, why is he even bitching about this? Better yet, why doesnβt he just finish his shopping trip and review it tomorrow? Itβs his decision on whether he wants to benefit from dropping his review first. Swear to god if this factors into his review negatively, Swifties better go in on him. Like you said, he should be grateful he has a job and expendable money for gifts. So many people are suffering right now, for him to even post that was pretentious. Music can exist without critics or reviews... he isnβt a necessity, he should just be grateful artists are giving him material to write about right now or he may very well be out of the job.

:O
I'm crying. I'm excited. I'm overwhelmed. I'm shocked. I don't even. Words can't express. I feel like one of Oprah's audience members. You get more Folklore! You get more Folklore! I'm dumb. But I... I wasnt expecting this. And for this to be the sister album to my favorite Taylor Swift album... I'm dead. This girl has me so hyped. My mascara is running. We are being blessed. I can't.

Agreed! This is the best Christmas gift ever. I hope she drops some signed albums soon because I desperately need it to match folklores signed copy.

Welcome back, lustiline! I've missed you, sugar boo!!
Also, that critic's post HAS to be a joke. Otherwise, it is one of the dumbest things I have read all year, which...says a lot.

I mean, it's just a tweet about his job and a mild inconvenience. We all have them when we work. I don't think it was any more than that. Might help to relax a bit. I just thought it was interesting because I've often wondered how critics and people who write about new music do it and how their schedules work for things like this.

Itβs like a firefighter tweeting that heβs inconvenienced by a fire. Or a plumber that he has to go fix a pipe on a holiday. If your job is considered βon-callβ or βtime sensitiveβ itβs pointless and so tone deaf to tweet about it when there are people losing their jobs or homes or sick right now...

I think you're reading too much into it. I think the reviewer was trying to be funny. And it's no more tone deaf than people complaining about their "In The Weeds," or whatever vinyl not being delivered yet. People can say the same thing. "People are losing their jobs, people are sick and dying. And you're complaining about not receiving a record of a certain color?" Neither bother me.

It's not that serious. We complain about our jobs all the time. The reviewer is allowed to feel frustrated; I'm sure he's aware that this issue is not a world-ending trauma.

Again, not that serious. Writers like this likely have a more regular schedule and probably aren't "on call" since new music tends to have a ton of lead time so when something unexpected happens when you're not on the clock, it can be an inconvenience. Anyway, we can agree to disagree. I can see how it can be a bit tone deaf but your analogies are hardly the same.

This is nuts! I'm excited because Folklore is amazing, but I've grown tired of listening to it everyday.

Although maybe not if there aren't any phyicals/bundles.
