I have not listened to the track yet, as I'm waiting to get the physical album. But- is this one even more country-sounding than "betty"? I've read it's the clear country track on the album, and that the "Cowboy" song is a little less so. Hope this one gets the video treatment. I mean "Cowboy Like Me" is probably "more country" (If that even is a thing that is quantifiable and comparable) but it would never get played on country radio because well.... it's just so country sounding

NBNC is definitely a far better choice on the standard edition. However the best song for country radio imo would've been Right Where You Left Me which is on the physical editions of the album, but this is a great choice too and far better than Betty. Hoping this does well.

And it would be pure tragedy to not get a video on this song. This could really be a crossover hit.

I definitely disagree with "Cowboy Like Me" being boring, I like it a fair amount more than "No Body, No Crime" (which is probably one of my least favorite tracks on the album) but sure CLM would not he a great choice for radio

I love this one and I think it's perfect for country radio, so fingers crossed it turns into a hit!

I think you’re overestimating this song’s success at the moment. I just hope it does as well as “betty”.

A radio edit was sent out on Monday. - Haim isn't credited.
- The opening (sirens, "He did it") is replaced with just a guitar and the harmonica.
- The cover artwork is a picture of Taylor standing on a pier, looking out into a lake.
I haven't heard it myself but if somebody could find it and share it, that'd be great! I'm pretty sure they mean that it's the #1 debut on the chart, not that it debuted at #1. Although, they knew what they were doing when they chose how to use their words lmao.

I like this song so much more than "New Year's Day" or "Betty," that's for sure. At the same time, I have a hard time thinking of this as a "country" song. I hope it does well anyway.

This is by far my favorite on the album. I hope this can do better than Betty.

I hope this does better than Betty. It would have sure smashed if it featured Carrie Underwood.

I do love this, but I wish they had done something slightly different in the chorus so that it was less repetitive. Excited to see what it can do at Country radio though!

I'm praying she actually does some decent promotion for this one; a radio-bait remix with Carrie Underwood or even Kelsea Ballerini would be incredible and a couple of performances wouldn't hurt either.
EDIT: Also, something about the production on the radio edit really strengthens the song? I'm not sure what it is, but it just sounds more refined and lively.

This the song is just not that good. I love a good country murder ballad, this was just cookie cutter and boring. Not that country either. From the music to the story being told here, its just poorly done. The murder story in this song is elementary at best, not that creative at all. Bad all around for me. But thats me.

I will say I don't mind this song, but this is certainly a bold choice for radio and my gut instinct tells me this will probably do about as good as "Betty", this feels like a song that would burn out fast with listeners.

It's an alright song but I liked "Betty" much better and that one didn't do as well as I thought. I reckon we'll have to wait and see.

I'm here to kill your dreams because Carrie has a strictly anti-remix stance regarding her own career. She stood up to her label at the time when she was just starting her career to stop Before He Cheats from being remixed. If Carrie wouldn't remix her own music, why should she be involved in a remix for someone else? It's just not happening.

Regardless, it's not gonna happen.

3rd most added this week with 24 adds on add week with 25 total stations on add week. Not bad by any means but pretty middle of the road, I will be interested to see how the followup weeks go for this song and adds.

I love this but don't think it'll be a big success or anything. In a perfect world it would be.... but we're talking 'bout country radio.
I predict this will do a bit better than "Betty" on radio.

Hmm that's a bit lower than I was expecting. Although "betty" didn't exactly light the charts on fire so maybe it is to be expected, like raylatch said I think we'll have to see how many stations add this in the following weeks. "Tequila Little Time" is the only song going for adds next week as of right now, so maybe it can pull some decent numbers next week too at least.

Must've missed that one since I was looking at the going for adds section on this week's Country Aircheck which only had Jon Pardi's song on it. Thanks!
