Two massively successful male popstars who are both heavily inspired by The King of Pop, which one is better? I like both artists, FTR.

I think The Weeknd is a great recording artist, but he never excites me beyond that...
Bruno, apart from also being a great recording artist, has tons of charisma and is a true showman... I've seen him on tour and the guy is an amazing performer!

Bruno is a good showman but that's about it. He's makes good kid music.
The Weeknd is a good performer, has made tons of great songs and albums, and has personality

Bland Bruno is by far one of the past decade's most overrated artists.

Bruno has some jams: Locked Out Of Heaven, Uptown Funk, It Will Rain..
but overall, they are not even close.

Bruno is a good showman but that's about it. He makes good kid music. Yeah, I don't think that's exactly kids music.

I absolutely love both Bruno Mars and The Weeknd but I gave my vote to Bruno since I like all 3 of his albums but mainly prefer just 2 of The Weeknd's albums (Starboy and After Hours)...I do like the singles from BBTM

Depends on what you're looking for. I personally will take Pete all day every day but I can't entirely knock Abel in this scenario.
Bruno has the far superior vocal ability and range, and he's much more consistent live. However, Bruno draws so much from his musical influences that he borders on feeling like a tribute act; this will always be his biggest Achilles heel. But it helps that he seems acutely self-aware and light-hearted about his place in music and simply focuses on being the best he can be at what he chooses to do. He has said that he purposely stays away from political or social-movement type songs because he knows he's never going to write the next What's Going On and joked on Carpool Karaoke that if he doesn't end up becoming fat Elvis, "I didn't make it." I can't hate on a man who knows his lane and says in it.
There is some controversy from Weeknd's early mixtape days re: him lifting someone else's aesthetic, but that aside I can objectively say that Weeknd's music has been more innovative and immediately influential on his peers than anything Bruno has done. That's more so for the urban songs than the obvious pop bait (Weeknd bites the 80s as much as Bruno bites anything when it's time to get in a radio hit), but still, the point stands. The whole atmospheric r&b sound can be directly traced almost 100% back to The Weeknd. I would never pay to see a live Weeknd show, though; I just don't think he's an interesting performer, and his vocals are less hit and more miss (even on wax he's not exactly a powerhouse). And neither guy is setting the world on fire with earth-shattering lyricism so they break even there lol.

I prefer Abel. Don't really have anything against Bruno Mars, though. Most of his singles are decent.

Bruno is a good showman but that's about it. He makes good kid music. Yeah, I don't think that's exactly kids music. I said what I said. If Bruno Mars performed at the Kids Choice Awards, he'd change little about his songs except for a few swear words.

Outside of the singles, I have never been able to get into The Weeknd's music so this one's pretty easy

I only know both by their singles, so currently I give Bruno a slight edge. However, if The Weeknd keeps up their hot streak and Bruno stays as quiet as he has, my vote could change in the future.

I think Bruno is more talented but I haven't been really into his music since "Treasure," which is a shame because I was obsessed with Unorthodox Jukebox. Now whenever I think of Bruno Mars I think of "Uptown Funk" and...blech.
The Weeknd's musical output has been more consistent and better, especially in the last few years, so he's gonna get my vote.

The Weeknd and it's not even close. Anytime you collaborate with Daft Punk you automatically get my vote.

This is a hard question, both singers are amazing. I'll go with Bruno Mars.

Bruno probably has the stronger skills but I don’t like anything about him, apart from a couple of his songs.
It’s Abel.

These two are literally my favorite artists so it's hard. Although in the end I have to give it to Abel because of the tragic melancholic delivery that's he able to do. Check out the tracks "The Knowing" and/or "Tears in the Rain" if you need some examples. That somber music really resonates with me and has helped me through a lot. Bruno though is amazing performer and nothing can quite replicate the experience that I had when I first listened to 'Unorthadox Jukebox' in its entirety for the first time when I was younger, "Gorilla", "Treasure" and "Locked Out of Heaven" just hit different with the nostalgia they give me.

Bruno, but I'm ready for him to give us a modern tea instead of the usual throwback (which is still great, but time to move on dahling).

Bruno. LOVE both though. I only know both by their singles, so currently I give Bruno a slight edge. Bruno, but I'm ready for him to give us a modern tea instead of the usual throwback (which is still great, but time to move on dahling). Yep.

I think it is a slight generational thing. The Weeknd is definitely creating a new sound with his vibe/mood/80's take on things. Bruno takes it to a more classic 90's throwback. Bruno EATS Abel in the vocal department, though. And while Abel provides a melodramatic song, Bruno just knows how to write and construct a solid melody and song - When I Was Your Man, Too Good to Say Goodbye, All I Ask, Talking to the Moon, Bruno crafts some beautiful music. Bruno can dance and play like every instrument. I'm a big fan of Amy Winehouse, and Bruno's tribute to her was one of the most successful and fitting homages to her I had ever seen. Abel is just not that kind of performer.
