Gabby Barrett officially has a second charting single, and somehow it isnβt The Good Ones (yet) but a cover of The First Noel. What even is this timeline?

I love how I'm looking at the top ten after having a dream that "I Hope" went number one out of nowhere. Thankfully that wasn't the actual case. I would LOVE that maan

I think Last Christmas has the most potential to dethrone AIWFCIY in the coming years

12 months of drops from #1A record that stood for 45 years has now been eclipsed 6 times overall and 5 to another rank in 12 months *All I Want For Christmas Is You, Mariah Carey OUT (2019 season) Willow, Taylor Swift 38 Trollz, 6ix9ine & Nicki Minaj 34 Life Goes On, BTS 28 Franchise, Travis Scott 25 Heartless, The Weeknd 17 Prior record from 1974: Nothing From Nothing, Billy Preston 15 Then Came You, Dionne Warwick,Spinners 15 I think AIWFCIY doesn't belong in this list.

Chuck Berry had another 5 top 10 songs on the best selling charts between 1955-1958 before the debut of the Hot 100.
Maybellene #5 1955
School Day (Ring! Ring! Goes the Bell) #5 1957
Rock and Roll Music #8 1957
Sweet Little Sixteen #2 1958
Johnny B. Goode #8 1958

Looking at this week's top 10 , I think the acts with the 6 longest gaps between consecutive top tens in Hot 100 history are all present: - George Michael/Wham! Almost 25 years from Fast Love to Last Christmas this week
- Chuck Berry 49 years between My Ding-A-Ling to Run Rudolph Run this week
- Dean Martin 55 years between I Will in 1965 to Let It Snow x3 this week
- Jose Feliciano 52 years between Light My Fire in 1968 and Feliz Navidad last week
- Brenda Lee 58 years between Losing You in 1963 and RATCT 2 years ago
- Burl Ives 59 years from Funny Way of Laughing in 1962 to A Holly Jolly Christmas last year.

I think AIWFCIY doesn't belong in this list. You aren't alone. Just Gary keeps including it. Why is it wrong? I get that it is Mariah and we want to fudge the math a bit because of who sings the song but that song has the biggest overall drop from #1. (In order to go 1 to OUT you have to drop at least 50 spots) I do agree though that it is not the biggest drop from #1 to another rank.

I think AIWFCIY doesn't belong in this list. You aren't alone. Just Gary keeps including it. Why doesn't it belong? People stopped playing and hearing it. It fell off. Billboard followed its Rules.

"This Christmas" is now Donny Hathaway's first solo Top 40 hit. His three Top 40 entries from the '70s were all duets with Roberta Flack. The highest he peaked solo before this was #44.

The Andrews Sisters finally make a Hot 100 appearance- that makes all the holiday clutter worth it. :) jeng, I had thought that was a possibility, too, in regard to holiday tracks reaching 52 weeks.
Also nice to see some other holiday classics entering, though I had hoped "Linus and Lucy" would make the cut. At least A Charlie Brown Christmas finally cracked the Billboard 200 top 10.

So happy for Last Christmas finally making it to the top 10
As for the talk on excluding Holiday songs on the chart but if Billboard did that this year and Mood will be #1, it will feel inaccurate to see it as as most popular/consumed song considering the streaming numbers suggest otherwise by a wide margin. It's like the time when Billboard 200 didn't include older/recurrent albums. I remember following Michael Jackson's death, his album was the best selling but #1 on Billboard was Demi Lovato with huge discrepancy in sales.
And it's just 3 weeks really, and those chart records are really just trivia that don't really mean that much in the grand scheme of things

I've never heard "Moonwalking in Calabasas" before, but I'm glad it finally charted on the Hot 100 considering its multiple weeks at number 1 on the Bubbling Under.

I'm with Gary on this one β AIWFCIY went below 50 that week, ergo it had a bigger drop than the others. It'd be more of an argument if the song fellow below 50, since the we wouldn't know where it'd place.

According to The Weeknd's chart history page on Billboard, I'm pretty sure that "Blinding Lights" fell off the this week after 55 weeks on the chart.
Does anyone know if it'll be able to re-enter next week even though it's surpassed 52 weeks?

My guess is that Blinding Lights is going to re-enter next week. It is gaining on all 3 metrics (#3 in iTunes, #8 on radio, and #15 on spotify). If eligible, BL could be as high as #3 on the Hot 100, behind only Mood and positions.

I'm pretty sure ROCKSTAR, WHATS POPPIN (both of which also went recurrent this week) and a number of other old 2020 hits will return too as the Christmas music subsides.

"Save Your Tears" is punching air rn now that Christimas is over, they really NEED to release the video ASAP. "Escape From LA" is next I think. "Save Your Tears" I'm pretty sure will be the next one after, with "Faith" closing out the era.
