Tay's Hot 50: the 2020 Year-End Chart (REVEALED)

Hey everyone! Welcome to the countdown of the 100 biggest songs of my 2020 chart!

In February of this year, I decided it would be a nice way to spread my music taste around if I went ahead and created a personal chart. I've had a lot of fun ever since with it, and even though I still need to catch up, I know for a fact that by December 27th MAX, I'll have done so and will be ready to share the list with you, one by one!

The current plan is to count these songs down 10 at a time for five days. The timeframe I have in mind is Sunday, December 27-Thursday, December 31, wrapping it up all within 2020. Once all 100 songs have been revealed, I will be hosting a rankdown of the top half of them, to be opened immediately after the countdown, with a deadline currently still in development but likely somewhere between mid-January to early February.

Alrighty; the final chart of 2020 has been posted, so it's now time to count down the 100 (yes, I decided to expand the countdown to 100 and do 5 nights of 20 reveals) songs that proved to be among my favorites of 2020 and made the year-end list!

But before I do that, some stats on 2020 in general:

--29 songs hit #1 over the course of the year, only two of them being by male artists. 19 of them are country songs while 10 of them are not.

--The record set in 2020 for most weeks at #1 stands at 5 consecutive; the artist that shares that record also has--of her own accord--the second-highest stay at #1 with 4, tied with a fellow female artist

--The #100 song on the year-end chart has 18,776 points, while the #1 song of 2020 has a whopping 178,158

--The #1 song of 2020 happens to also hold the record for longest chart run, with 42 weeks on

"the 1" is a highlight from Folklore too. I haven't revisited it as much as "betty" or "mirrorball", but I'm pretty sure it was in my top 5 for the first impressions rankdown.

There's a new version of "Oh What A World"? Lmao I had no idea 😂 One of the best songs on Golden Hour though, so I should check it out!
