Once you feel like you have achieved your best score, submit a screenshot of your final score to your Confessional PM. You are permitted to discuss strategy with your fellow tribe members. You have until 3:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. CT tomorrow to submit your score for the challenge.Spidey Probst: The tribe with the highest score will win immunity and safety from the first Tribal Council. This is your first chance to prove yourself to your fellow tribe members. In addition, the winning tribe will unlock a hidden immunity idol back at their camp. Does everyone understand the rules? Immunity Challenge Spidey Probst: Come on in guys! Welcome to the second immunity challenge of the season. Uri won immunity in the first challenge. Valais and Bern will now face-off to determine who will be heading to the first Tribal Council of the season in a challenge called "Ultimate Holiday Playlist." Here's how it works:Each tribe will work together to come up with the best holiday playlist possible. You must come up with a theme for your playlist. Be as creative and as unique as possible! Each playlist must consist of 12 released holiday songs that are available on Spotify. What your presentation must include: - The title of your playlist. - Cover artwork for your playlist. - A description of the theme of your playlist. - The playlist must contain 12 holiday songs. - Please attach a Spotify playlist with all of the songs. All members of the tribe must participate in the challenge. Use your Tribe PM to discuss the challenge. You have until 3:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. CT tomorrow to submit your presentation. One member of your tribe must compile all the components for the challenge and submit the final presentation to their Confessional PM.Spidey Probst: After both tribes submit their playlists, they will be sent anonymously to a panel of judges who will vote for which playlist deserves the title of Ultimate Holiday Playlist for crafting the best playlist and overall presentation. Who are the judges you might ask? Uri, that is where your tribe comes into play. The five of you will serve as judges for this challenge. Whichever tribe wins the majority vote will earn the second immunity and unlock a hidden immunity idol back at their camp. Does everyone understand the rules? Let's get started!

Tribe 1 — BERN "The Phases of Christmas" Tracklist: 1. Martina McBride - "Silver Bells" 2. Perry Como - "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" 3. Bing Crosby - "I'll Be Home for Christmas" 4. Kelly Clarkson - "Christmas Eve" 5. Elton John - "Step into Christmas: 6. Nat King Cole - "Christmas Song" 7. Frank Sinatra - "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" 8. Phoebe Bridgers - "Christmas Song" 9. Coldplay - "Christmas Lights" 10. Wham! - "Last Christmas" 11. Joni Mitchell - "River" 12. Faith Hill - "Where Are You Christmas"
Theme Description: Hello Uri tribe! We have crafted a playlist for you featuring a variety of different artists and styles of Christmas songs that when they come together tell the story of three "phases of Christmas": the pre-Christmas anticipation, Christmas Day itself, and the feeling that arise after Christmas
We open our playlist and our first phase with a song full of jolly, Martina McBride's "Silver Bells". This song helps to set the scene of "Christmastime in the city" as the whole world leaves November and Thanksgiving behind and begins to get in the holiday spirit, eagerly anticipating Christmas Day. Our next track, Perry Como's "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas", helps to evoke a similar feeling. After Martina set the scene with the very start of Christmas, Perry takes us a few weeks further into the Christmas scene. Everywhere you go begins to look very Christmas-y, further helping to establish the pre-Christmas anticipation.
Bing Crosby adds another perspective to this pre-Christmas phase with his classic track "I'll Be Home for Christmas". He tells the tale of how though many are celebrating the beginning of the holiday season, some (including the narrator of this song) are less able to embrace the joyous nature of the holiday season, instead longingly wishing to be home with their family when they cannot be. This track adds another layer to the pre-Christmas phase of our playlist. To close out this phase is quite appropriately the last thing before Christmas Day: "Christmas Eve", in this case the Kelly Clarkson track. This song captures the feeling of the excitement that is felt by many when Christmas is just a few hours away, when so many people can hardly fall asleep due to their anticipation. As such, it is the perfect track to close out our pre-Christmas phase.
Next, Elton John helps us step into the Christmas Day phase of our playlist with his song "Step Into Christmas". This song is the perfect one to create the feeling of waking up Christmas morning and experiencing lots of joy, sitting around the tree laughing with those whom you love. Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" brings things down a notch, and creates a timeless and homey image. Cole's tender tone further contributes to this image of a family joyously spending their Christmas together.
Frank Sinatra starts to wind down Christmas with the slower but every classic "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". This song continues to represent the feeling of Christmas conveyed by the past couple songs, being that Christmas allows our troubles to fly far away and for many to just enjoy the time with their family and friends. However, Christmas can be a hard time for many people, as Phoebe Bridgers tells us on her track "Christmas Song". When one is going through a hard time, the holidays for some only make things harder. As such, Phoebe helps paint a full picture of Christmas Day with her track — though some like Elton John and Nat King Cole may be experiencing nothing but pure joy on Christmas Day, the same is not true for everyone. Therefore, our four song selections for Christmas Day allow us to convey a variety of ideas surrounding Christmas Day.
Coldplay further builds on the idea that Phoebe started to discuss with their track "Christmas Lights". Christmastime can often cause fights between couples, and there fights can carry on to the following days. As such, we get this was a strong song to kick off our post-Christmas phase, as it shows one common impact of Christmas and the holidays. Wham continues this theme of reflection with "Last Christmas", a timeless classic all about reflecting on a previous year's Christmas and the heartbreak that occurred there. This shows another way in which the time after Christmas can cause troubles for some.
Our penultimate track comes from Joni Mitchell with "River", a track that features a fair amount of reflection with a holiday theme to it. As such, it perfectly fits the idea of the post-Christmas phase, being that of one full of looking back on the Christmas that was. Faith Hill's "Where Are You Christmas" closes out the playlist. It fits the role of a perfect closer to the story we've tried to tell of the course of the playlist, as it goes from wondering where Christmas went to realizing it's more of a feeling inside you and that if you stay joyful throughout your life, every day will feel like Christmas.
That's our "Phases of Christmas" playlist! We hope you all enjoyed it and that it helped to take you on a journey through the holidays with some great music!

Immunity Challenge Results Spidey Probst: Each member of Uri looked over the two playlist presentations without knowing which tribe submitted which. Let's see their thoughts:David ( Adrian C. 🍓) {David's Thoughts}The Phases of Christmas: 1. Title/Artwork: I think both your title and cover artwork do exactly what they're supposed to. Just from those alone, I get a good sense of what I'm about to hear and it's an interesting idea that keeps me engaged.
2. Theme: I really think you guys nailed it with the theme. Christmas comes with many different feelings and emotions and I love how you guys captured that here. Not only did you pick a range of different styles, but you made the whole thing cohesive so that it tells a story. I love the idea of starting with the pre-Christmas anticipation, leading into Christmas itself, and ending with the feelings that come after Christmas. It's a cool concept and you went into very good detail analyzing the playlist and relating the songs back to this theme.
3. Playlist: Overall, I think your playlist is excellent. I would like to go into detail though about what specifically I liked here. As I mentioned, you picked a variety of different styles to help fit the theme, which is great. You also picked a variety of artists and I appreciate that no artist appears more than once. Your song choices are also very strong. We have the classics, which is great. I liked the choice of "Christmas Eve" for Kelly Clarkson as I feel that one is underrated in comparison to the obvious. I did not know Phoebe Bridgers had a Christmas song, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. I also commend you for including my favorite Christmas song from my favorite band (Coldplay's "Christmas Lights"). Such a beautiful song that I was worried would be left out. But I'm really glad you guys included it. And as I mentioned, I love that the songs are ordered in a way that tells a story. Overall, there's not a single song I don't enjoy so well done!
Big Stars Bringing You Some Big Christmas Joy: 1. Title/Artwork: Your title is a little long but your artwork is good and these things alone do give me a good idea of what I'm about to hear.
2. Theme: I think your theme is a little vague. I get that this year has been rough and we all just want some Christmas joy, but that's really all I got out of your presentation. It lacks creativity and specifics about why you think the songs selected fit your theme. It just feels like minimal effort was put in here and I don't want to constantly compare to the other tribe, but I think you guys could've done more here.
3. Playlist: You guys included some obvious choices here. They're not bad songs (although I'm not particularly a fan of "Santa Tell Me"), but they're also not super interesting picks. You do have some artist variety, but I'm not huge on three songs from Mariah Carey and two songs from Ariana Grande. You also say that this playlist consists of all our favorite artists, but my favorite group and their Christmas song is not present here. I also think this playlist lacks cohesion. It just seems like these songs were thrown together in no particular order. Overall, I think you guys went the somewhat obvious route by picking big modern-day names, which makes it a little less interesting for me. It's not a bad playlist, but there's more to it than just the song choices.
With that said, my final vote is easily going to "The Phases of Christmas"! Y'all nailed it in my opinion. :) Dean ( Mayman) {Dean's Thoughts}Tribe 1's playlist was pretty good. Although I felt like the songs didn't pick up until the second half of the playlist, it was really well sequenced and I thought the songs flowed so well. There presentation was really good and I liked how detailed their post was. The playlist cover was cute too.
Tribe 2's playlist I feel has better songs than Tribe 1's. I think their presentation was not that good but they made up for it with the songs they selected. I liked the happy feeling about the songs.
I vote for Tribe 2's playlist. I liked more of the songs on that playlist than Tribe 1's. Elyse ( ramona wants sleep) {Elyse's Thoughts}pros: -both flowed really well -both had great cover arts -both had some great music choices -Tribe 2 had a great selection of classics -Tribe 1 had a varied set of classics and underrated gems -Tribe 1 specifically had Phoebe Bridgers
cons: -both descriptions could've been better, Tribe 2's is generic and Tribe 1's is a whole college thesis -Tribe 1's art doesn't really match the tone of the setlist that well, I love how ironic the pic itself is but it doesn't really fit much
I think I prefer The Phases of Christmas from Tribe 1 John ( CagedJuggalo The Third Tanker) {John's Thoughts}Ok props to not using what I consider the worst holiday song ever...but seeing how both playlists share some songs, yall really could've brainstormed more (Seriously, the lack of Feliz Navidad or anything from The Nutcracker is disturbing)
Tribe 1: I absolutely love the description, give whoever did that a pass to the merge because I absolutely believed every word. The songlist, while good, had one or two songs that really stuck out in a bad way (Namely Ill Be Home for Christmas and Christmas Eve) and a lot of songs that should not have been near eachother personally (The Christmas Song and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas specifically. Both iconic but you could've used a song or 2 to space them out). HOWEVER there were discoveries here I absolute lived for: Coldplay is now on my go to drinking list, Elton John actually put me in the holiday spirit, and for the love of all that is holy let me get this in all caps......PHOEBE BRIDGERS SHOULD HAVE ENDED THE SET. Oh my god talk about love at first listen. I decently enjoy Where Are You Christmas but you could've had it earlier and I wouldn't have minded (Hell it would've worked wonders because you have the down note of asking where the Christmas spirit is only to immediately get the warmth in the next songs). Overall, I absolutely love the effort. 8.5/10
Tribe 2: Im going to say this off the bat: There is no cohesion in this tribe. When the description tells me this playlist will help me get away from the misery that was 2020 and then proceeds to give me 3 Mariah songs within the first 4 tracks actually makes me MORE miserable. The songlist is passable and if my partner put it on, I wouldn't change it, but it would be complete background noise. The songs that usually are iconic feel like last second throw ins, and let me get to my biggest gripe: The end of our trip. You have 3 amazing tracks back to back that the other tribe did not think of (Elvis/Brenda Lee/Kelly Clarkson (Yes I think Christmas Tree is better than Christmas Eve))....but then you drop the ball on the last 2 songs. ITMWTOTY is more of an opener or close to the middle than it is a closer, and then you chose to go with the tonal whiplash of choosing Last Christmas as your final song. I will give some pity points for some of the songs but I just wasnt a fan of this. 3.75/10 Nadiya (@jadenlefranks) {Nadiya's Thoughts}Tribe 1: Your playlist has a cohesive and creative theme which centers around the various phases of the Christmas season. I really liked this idea because I could tell you put thought into it from start to finish. I also enjoyed reading your thought processes behind the implantations of each track. Although the title is straightforward, as well as the theme and description, the cover art is a bit confusing. It's the only thing I saw on this presentation that was subpar - but it's important since it's what users see first on a playlist. I was a bit skeptical at first because of it. Good job, guys!! 💗
Tribe 2: Your playlist creates the fun world of Christmas using tracks from some of the biggest names in music. I really liked this idea since some of the artists in the playlist are among my favorites (Mariah, Ariana, Taylor). I enjoyed the more current sound of a majority of the tracks as well. Your cover art is very intriguing and pretty, the tracks are good, however I feel the name of the playlist could've been more concise, and the theme of the playlist more complex. It feels a bit simple, which isn't bad, but not incredible, either. Good job!! 💚
My vote goes to Tribe 1's playlist. Theirs simply has a more interesting theme, as well as a more diverse set of songs. Spidey Probst: The votes are in... by a vote of 4 to 1... the winner of the second immunity challenge is Bern! In addition to safety from the first Tribal Council, your tribe has also unlocked the hidden immunity idol back at your camp. As for Valais, one of the five of you will be the first person exiled from this game. Now head on back to camp and figure out who that will be.

Merry Christmas Spidey Probst: Merry Christmas everyone! Bern and Uri, getting your first look at the new Valais tribe. Stephanie (GP) was voted out at the first Tribal Council. In lieu of a challenge, today you will be spending time back at camp with your tribe. To celebrate surviving the first elimination of the season, there will be three Christmas gifts waiting for each tribe back at your camps:1 2 3 Spidey Probst: You must decide between the members of your tribe which three will have the opportunity to select and open a Christmas gift. Some gifts will be presents in the form of game advantages, while others may contain a lump of coal. Now head on back to camp and decide who will have get to open some Christmas gifts!Use your Tribe PM to discuss which three members of your Tribe should get to open a Christmas gift. The three chosen tribe members will then each select a number (1, 2, or 3) that corresponds with a predetermined gift. Today we are going to put your holiday movie knowledge to the test in a challenge called "Christmas Movie Showdown." You will have a maximum of 10 minutes to compete. The challenge will then play out in a series of showdowns among the three tribes. Each tribe must select an order for their tribe (#1 going first to #4 going last). This is only for the challenge results and not the order you actually have to compete in. No one can compete until your order is confirmed in your Tribe PM.For each round, your tribe will be awarded points based on how your tribe member finishes. First place will receive 2 points, second place will receive 1 point and last place will receive zero points. Any ties will be broken by the individual tribe member who got the most correct answers in the fastest time. You have until 6:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. CT tomorrow to compete in the challenge.Spidey Probst: The two tribes with the most points after four rounds will earn immunity.
