This is an absolute banger, I thought it deserved its own thread and some recognition. Loving this.

I love this song but can't understand why the original is barely 2.5 minutes. This song is a banger and the Extended should be the original.

Sounds cool! I'm getting a bit of 3LAU's "Tokyo" vibes.

This is really good. I love this song but can't understand why the original is barely 2.5 minutes. This is also now a trend with original versions of non-Dance music too so it's no surprise that this would happen in Dance/Electronic music. I get the idea of short and concise songs with no additional sections or filler, but it's ridiculous. Some songs feel super incomplete. There are instances where a song is just that short and it works. Perhaps it's just a sign of the times because attention spans have gotten shorter and people want things quickly. And you know in the streaming age they want a song to be easy to replay. Just 10 to 12 years ago we were getting remixes that were 8 to 10 minutes long and even before that we had mixes that were even longer. Some might absolutely freak out with lengths like that now. It is not necessary to force or cram production in to make a track that long when it doesn't need to be, but looking back on many of the older mixes, there would be a proper intro and outro with journey-like elements, a build up/breakdown, and also in some cases some creative additional things. There are plenty of examples where a short 3 to 4 minute song was made into a 12 minute anthem without a single extra, unnecessary section. This example of Veronica's "Someone To Hold" was 4 minutes long in its original mix and the Johnny Vicious mix was 12 minutes long. I do see that given how little money is there now in remixing and stuff too so less will go into a production now as less comes in from streaming so the production value is just not there. But not everyone is doing that. You still have people putting in the time and effort. These ultra short interlude length "extended remixes" are a trend that I hope goes away.

You're right. I remember this same problem where songs started with the "radio" or short mix. The extended would just be 30 seconds added to the front and end of a song. The entirety of the song was unchanged beyond that. It made no sense to even play an extended mix if it was that.
I miss those days. Even the average house song from a big name came as an 8 minute track. Some wouldn't even make the radio edit available for purchase.
Now, I am accustomed to skipping past songs when I see them below 2:30. Of course, it can't just be copy and pasted sections to make 3 or 4 minute marks, but these artists are more than capable to make it worth the time.
