92. Naked Ava Max
Ava’s been crushing the basic jams. This is yet another earworm and one of her better lyrical compositions. Her highest charting of the year.

91. Eleven Khalid
The single cover and video are perfect for this, because this is the perfect song for a late night drive. Such a chill vibe and a perfect match for Khalid’s vocals. Songs like this and “OTW” are my favorites from him, but they keep getting ignored.

90. To Die For Sam Smith
Another Sam single that was hurt in the longevity department, but I absolutely love the chorus and Sam once again delivers vocally. The talking bit fits in really well too.

89. Old Me 5 Seconds of Summer
I much prefer this style of 5SOS to their overly tryhard stadium rock sound. Nice lyrics and excellent melody.

88. Ilomilo Billie Eilish
One of the most interesting Billie tracks in my opinion. I love the hypnotic sound of the post-chorus and the bouncy beat. The title is also one of the most creative song names I’ve ever heard.

87. Epiphany Taylor Swift
Simply beautiful. A tremendous tribute towards those battling on the frontlines of both war and the pandemic. Everything from her vocals to the lyrics to the production is just perfect. She doesn’t hold back from graphic depictions in the verses and that’s exactly how it should be.

86. The Scotts Travis Scott & Kid Cudi
Two of my favorite hip-hop artists collaborating? Yes please. It’s neither of their bests, but it’s catchy and the outro production is masterful.

85. Personal Point North
More rock midtempo ballads. Very memorable chorus and a nice melody throughout. I’ll be paying attention to this band in the future.

84. Learn to Walk Again Bad Wolves
Pretty generic lyrically and melodically, but it really works. The pre-chorus might be even catchier than the chorus, and Tommy Vext’s vocals always impress me.

83. Thin White Lies 5 Seconds of Summer
A deepcut that might just be the highlight of the album. My comments on “Old Me” are pretty much echoed here.

82. Broken Glass Kygo & Kim Petras
You almost always know what you’re gonna get with a Kygo production, so the melody is usually what makes or breaks it for me. This one makes it, and Kim is an excellent fit vocally. Hands down should’ve been a single over “Lose Somebody”.

81. Futsal Shuffle 2020 Lil Uzi Vert
Hands down my choice for coolest production of the year. I think I like Uzi’s raps too, but I’m usually just listening to the beat.

80. Into the Dark Point North f/Kellin Quinn
This isn’t my favorite from their album, but it’s the song I discovered first and thus gave the most of my attention, so it’s the highest. Clearly I liked it enough to give their album a try so that should say something.

79. Joke’s on You Charlotte Lawrence
This certainly wasn’t the song I expected to latch onto most from the Birds of Prey soundtrack but here we are. Charlotte’s vocals are great, the lyrics are interesting and a perfect fit for the film, and the melody in the verses feels both modern and timeless.

78. The World in My Hands Ice Nine Kills f/Tony Lovato
They’re back! This one is based off Edward Scissorhands (not really a horror movie, but whatever). Absolutely love the lyrics here. It’s got that punk-pop sound that was huge 15 years ago, so this is another one that I think could’ve been a hit back then. Clearly I’m ready for that phase to make a mainstream comeback.

77. Lonely Hearts JoJo f/Demi Lovato
JoJo always delivers vocally, and this might be the best example of it on the album. The remix with Demi immediately caught my attention, and I was so glad to see she stepped right up to the task of keeping up. And THAT BRIDGE>>

76. Love Me Land Zara Larsson
Once upon a time, I went on a rant in the pop forum about how awful this song was. Clearly I take that back. It’s a jam. It still could use a stronger chorus, but I love the final version of it, along with the pre-chorus. And please do yourself a favor and watch the video.

75. For the Night Pop Smoke f/Lil Baby & DaBaby
All three rappers kill their verses here and the chorus is extremely memorable. Definitely my favorite song from Pop Smoke.

74. Show Yourself Idina Menzel f/Evan Rachel Wood
The true successor to “Let It Go”, I don’t know why they pushed so hard for “Into the Unknown”. Idina’s vocals are as good as expecting and the lyrics and message put both of those songs to shame. The lack of the whole world singing it all the time does help with longevity though, I must admit.

73. Holiday Little Mix
The best single called “Holiday” from an artist with small size in their name this year! This is probably my favorite single from them since… “Little Me”? Wow.

72. What I’m Leaving For Lady A
I really enjoyed “Champagne Night”, but it’s extremely disappointing that this had to be put to rest for it. They do these country-pop midtempos better than anyone, and I absolutely love the lyrics for this. One of their strongest singles to date.

71. Lie Like This Julia Michaels
I enjoy her vocals more than most seem to, and her ability to write a pop hook needs no defending. The minimalist stuff was getting kinda old, so it was nice to see her release a pure jam. pop Radio, I’m glad you’re becoming irrelevant.

70. 7 Summers Morgan Wallen
Between this and “Chasin’ You”, Morgan Wallen really came through with the ballads this year. I love the sense of nostalgia here, and the chorus flows so smoothly. I can see why his fans embraced it so quickly.

69. Rockstar DaBaby f/Roddy Ricch
This is DaBaby’s best chorus to date, and it isn’t even close. The verses are really strong here as well, and major respect to the BLM version. A well deserved smash.

68. The End Alesso & Charlotte Lawrence
Charlotte Lawrence has the perfect voice for EDM tracks (go listen to Kaskade’s “Cold as Stone” if you haven’t heard it). The production is rather generic, but the melody is just awesome.

67. Thank God Gabby Barrett
The mastery of country-pop melody on display here would make Taylor Swift proud. Say what you will about her voice or views, but this is an absolute jam.

66. My Oasis Sam Smith f/Burna Boy
I can see why this wasn’t sent to radio, but this might be the coolest melody and production I’ve ever heard from a Sam Smith song. Burna Boy’s addition is great as well.

65. Tricky Shoffy f/Sabrina Carpenter
I absolutely hated “Cool Again”, but the melody and vibe here work so well. Both artists sound fantastic, especially when they harmonize. I’d love to see Sabrina head in more of an R&B direction, because her voice sounds so smooth on songs like this.

64. Hard to Forget Sam Hunt
What a jam! Forget “Body Like a Back Road” and “House Party”, this is his catchiest song by a mile. The production is a cool mix of both traditional and modern, and the sample is used to perfection.
