Tag me! and why is 2017 unknown? I never posted one for 2017, and I've never cemented a consistent formula/points system for my year-ends. All the other #1's are unambiguous besides 2017. Skin by Rag'n'Bone Man had the best chart run, but it felt too random to be my #1 Look What You Made Me Do was huge in the first few weeks, but fell quickly after New Rules and Havana had strong longevity, but their chart runs ran into 2018 You Don't Know Me and More Than You Know would be in the top 5 also It'd be one of the songs listed above.

I vote for "Skin" (if you're looking for feedback). I don't think it's too random, it was a solid follow-up to the smash "Human".

Let's reveal 100-91: 100. Travis Scott - Highest In The RoomSpotify LinkPoints: 282.6 Lifetime Points: 981.5 (enough to be #7 for 2020) Peak: 1 (in 2019) Debuted: 2019-10-25 Chart Run: (35-14-9-3-1-1-2-4-4-6)-8-10-13-16-19-22-26-30-35-40 This was Travis's first solo #1 on my chart, and second overall including "Power Is Power". I'd say this, "Antidote" and "Goosebumps" are my top 3 favourite songs from him. I tend to love songs that capture a certain mood, and "Highest In The Room" does exactly that. It contains this hazy atmosphere, which is appropriate considering the song title. The production captures a stoner vibe vividly. The song feels like a distorted reality. The echoes are utilized well. And the outro is effective divergence.

99. Shane Codd - Get Out My HeadSpotify LinkPoints: 288.1 Currently ChartingPeak: 1 Debuted: 2020-11-27 Chart Run: 37-13-11-2-1-... So the final #1 of the tracking period lands in at 99. It'll probably be top 100 next year as well. There's never a shortage of dance songs filling up slots on my chart, and while "Get Out My Head" is not the most original piano house track ever, it's catchy AF. The beat is energetic too. And the stuttering lyrics are effective.

98. LA Vision / Gigi D'Agostino - HollywoodSpotify LinkPoints: 298.8 Peak: 12 Debuted: 2020-07-31 Chart Run: 39-18-13-12-15-18-18-21-24-27-31-37 "do do do do do do do do"Gigi D'Agostino is a prolific dance music producer of the early 2000s, who had a revival in 2018 thanks to Dynoro's reworking/mash-up of "In My Mind" (a massive hit in Europe). That one peaked at #11 on my chart (should've been top 10). I say mash-up because "In My Mind" sampled Gigi's "L'amour toujours" (2000), which is a song I got into this year. Anyways, I like how "Hollywood" steady builds to its eventual "drop". The song is stagnant in a way, but it works. The melody is catchy too.

97. Winona Oak / Robin Schulz - OxygenSpotify LinkPoints: 299.9 Peak: 11 Debuted: 2020-07-10 Chart Run: 31-12-11-12-16-19-22-26-28-31-33-37 And the dance songs keep coming! Robin Schulz is no stranger to my chart, as "Oxygen" is his 10th appearance now. "Prayer In C" was a huge #1 for me in 2014. While "Sun Goes Down", "Headlights", "Sugar", "Show Me Love" and "Unforgettable" have all gone top 10 also. Plus "Waves" had strong longevity despite peaking at #15. The "show me you love me" chorus melody is just really strong. While Winona's distinct voice adds emotional depth to the song.

It was the first top 10 for the Jonas Brothers on my chart, although a few of Nick's solo songs and DNCE have landed in the top 10 previously.

The explosive chorus hits and the bridge successfully escalates. And the lyrics tell an interesting story.

94. Disclosure / Kelis - Watch Your StepSpotify LinkPoints: 305.6 Peak: 11 Debuted: 2020-09-18 Chart Run: 38-21-11-11-14-17-18-21-24-28-33-40 Disclosure caught my attention way back in 2013 with their unique production style. It's a chill vibe, while the bouncy beats are still dance-able (if that makes sense). "Latch" peaked at #2, but "White Noise" became a three-week #1 shortly after. Subsequently, "You And Me", "F For You", "Bang That", "Omen", and "Hourglass" all went top 10; as well two other songs yet to appear in this countdown. Kelis is a great featured vocalist here. It reminds me of her dance collabs with David Guetta. So I guess "Watch Your Step" is nostalgic for me. It was instant stand-out when I listened to the new album.

93. The Mamas - MoveSpotify LinkPoints: 306.0 Peak: 12 Debuted: 2020-03-06 Chart Run: 32-24-16-14-12-15-18-22-25-27-30-34-40 This year's Melfest winner and Sweden's ESC entry lands at #93. It wasn't my pick to win either contest (those will appear later), but I love the uplifting vibes of "Move". It radiates pure happiness. The song has grown on my considerably and it will place highly in my 2020 ESC ranking. But I'll give a more in-depth review of this in time...

92. Lady Gaga - 911Spotify LinkPoints: 307.5 Peak: 13 Debuted: 2020-09-04 Chart Run: 22-15-16-14-13-15-18-22-26-29-33-37 Lady Gaga's first eight singles ("Just Dance" through "Born This Way") all went #1 on my chart, which is an achievement that I don't think will ever be matched. She was undoubtedly my favourite artist during that stretch of 2009-2012. She lost me a bit with the following albums, but Chromatica renewed a lot of my interest this year. It doesn't match the heights of her earlier work, but the first two singles were top notch, and I appreciate the 90s house influences. Obviously the "THWAMP" transition from "Chromatica II" to "911" is a highlight of the album. But the song holds up on its own too. The thumping beat is effective.

The Pussycat Dolls - ReactSpotify LinkPoints: 311.8 Peak: 11 Debuted: 2020-02-14 Chart Run: 33-17-15-15-11-14-17-20-24-27-32-36 Another nostalgic return in 2020 came from the Pussycat Dolls, who had several #1's on my chart in the mid-late 2000s. "React" is a cute bop. The echo-y soundscape gives it that nightclub feel. And the lyrics are an interesting take on being bored with a healthy relationship lol.

Let's reveal 90-81? :) 90. Stormzy / Burna Boy / Ed Sheeran - Own ItSpotify LinkPoints: 313.0 Lifetime Points: 397.6 (enough to be #78 for 2020) Peak: 5 Debuted: 2019-12-20 Chart Run: (36-5)-5-8-10-14-18-21-25-28-34 "Own It" was the first new UK #1 of the 2020s decade. It completed Stormzy's hat trick of chart toppers in that country from 2019/20, following "Vossi Bop" and "Take Me Back To London". The latter was also a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, but for Ed's album. This time the lead and feature credits are reversed. "Own It" has a pretty addictive percussion beat thanks to the dancehall influences. The chorus is decently catchy too. Ed doesn't appear until the second half, where his more pop-oriented melody fits in cleanly. I don't know if his addition is necessary, but he doesn't detract from the song either. In hindsight I wish I had charted "Vossi Bop" higher. It is indeed a bop!

89. Jackboys / Travis Scott / Don Toliver - What To DoSpotify LinkPoints: 329.5 Peak: 10 Debuted: 2020-01-31 Chart Run: 10-11-13-12-16-19-22-25-28-31-36-40 Travis Scott releases these songs with trippy atmospheres every now and again (like "Antidote", "Goosebumps" and "Highest In The Room"), and "What To Do" is another one. I should mention that his "lazy" vocal style fits that vibe perfectly. The production is a major highlight here too.

88. Karol G / Nicki Minaj - TusaSpotify LinkPoints: 335.7 Peak: 12 Debuted: 2020-02-28 Chart Run: 38-23-14-12-12-15-19-22-26-23-26-29-33-38 The reggaeton beat, the sunny vibe, and the syllable bounce at the beginning of the chorus all work nicely. And Nicki's perspective enhances to the song. She has an IDGAF attitude, while Karol G is still emotionally hung up on her ex. I like the idea of Nicki playing the supportive friend here lol.

87. Kelly Clarkson - I Dare YouSpotify LinkPoints: 335.9 Peak: 10 Debuted: 2020-05-22 Chart Run: 38-14-16-10-12-15-18-20-23-27-31-35-39 I haven't listened to the multi-language duets, but "I Dare You" is my favourite Kelly single in years. Even more than "Love So Soft". The melody is strong in "I Dare You", including two immediate hooks (ie. "Even if you're hurt..." and "You may not have the stage..."). And the verses have that "da da da da da" five-syllable rhythm. The dominant drum beat also drives the song. And the phrase "I dare you to love" has some snarkiness to it. Like Kelly is astounded that it's so hard for someone to show love.

86. Billie Eilish - Therefore I AmSpotify LinkPoints: 341.8 Currently ChartingPeak: 5 Debuted: 2020-11-20 Chart Run: 8-5-5-7-10-15-... "Bad Guy" was my year-end #1 of 2019, while "Bury A Friend" was also in the top 5. So obviously I'd be interested in any new release from Billie. Unfortunately "No Time To Die" and "My Future" were both snoozes. However, she did release one track towards the end of 2020 that caught my attention. I just really like the way the chorus flows on "Therefore I Am". It's complete with that fan-blade distortion effect. Billie puts her signature mark on the song. She reads the verse lyrics in a conversational manner lol. I also appreciate the self-empowered attitude.

85. JoJo - ManSpotify LinkPoints: 351.2 Peak: 5 Debuted: 2020-06-26 Chart Run: 33-14-5-8-12-15-19-22-25-29-33 This was an instant bop that burned quickly. Indeed, "Man" is the lowest top 5 peaker with a complete chart run. The pauses are used well (ie. "well... damn / I'm going to need a fucking... man"). And the production has a sensual vibe.

84. Jorja Smith / Popcaan - Come OverSpotify LinkPoints: 351.9 Currently ChartingPeak: 2 Blocked by: "Lifetime" Debuted: 2020-11-20 Chart Run: 33-7-2-4-6-12-... I haven't checked out much of Jorja's stuff yet, but "Come Over" unexpectedly clicked with me recently. Although it's one of the luckiest songs to peak at #2. The dominant dancehall beat, the background ad libs, and the leap-out of "...ON YOUR MIIIIND" are mostly why I like this. And I usually like distinct vocal textures like Jorja's. She suits this genre well. The song expresses her anxious uncertainty.
