I admit that certain songs on this album have grown on me a lot. I still don't think I have a lot of complaints about the album as a whole but "865" and "Dangerous" have both in regular rotation for me. And songs about drinking and missing girls they hit me hard at the moment I will admit but I wish on some of them *cough* " Wasted on You" *cough* or even the bridge of "Dangerous" he would cut back on BLAMING the girl. The bitterness does not feel earned and he shows no self awareness of it. Oh well. Eveyone else seems to like this and I'm happy for them. I'll jam to the songs that I do like

The first part of the album is pretty solid. Highlights for me: "Somebody's Problem" - Standard ballad, but he pulls it off well and the melody just works. "More Surprised Than Me" - I love this, it feels like great 2000s country song, modernized I actually hear hints of Keith Urban on it (especially the chorus) "Wonderin' Bout the Wind" - Love the driving melody and the harmony in the chorus. I'm not as big of a fan of the second part, though–it's pretty bro-y for the most part and a lot of the uptempos kind of run together. "This Bar" and "Silverado for Sale" are good tho. I think it was smart of him to effectively ship 2 albums in one. Caters to his different audiences well (if you like "Chasin' You" Morgan Wallen, listen to the first album; if you like "Up Down" Morgan Wallen, listen to the second album).

I still need to give more listens to the album, but so far;
Amazing: 865 (most played since last week), More Than My Hometown, Somebody's Problem Great: Me On Whiskey, This Bar, Heartless Good: Sand In My Boots, Wasted On You, Neon Eyes, Silverado for Sale, Whiskey'd My Way, 7 summers, More Surprised
so I agree with lady𝓐fan in that the first part is more enjoyable than the second half.

I don't do many male country albums (Sam Hunt and the occasional Luke Bryan albums are exceptions), but after listening to the clips, I am going to down to Target and pick this up this afternoon. Hopefully, the bonus tracks are now on there but if not, at least I know how to get them!

Update: Shoulda checked Brickseeker first. Despite Target's website going as far to say there are x amount of copies at multiple stores, not a single Austin location carries it. Amazon came through though...even though I have to wait a bit, my order came with a digital download, at least.

Good job for Morgan. Really like the new album; just wish he would start acting more like an adult, as all the partying really doesn't look good. In a not petty way, I'm really happy he didn't edge out CU's Cry Pretty first week figures. He was about 1,000 units of meeting hers, but didn't reach it.

HDD predicted to this to have second week at #1 with 23k pure sales and 135k SPS. After a delay, my CD is finally arriving from Amazon. I caved and listened to the 1st disc via Apple Music. Such a great listen with no skips! Excited for Disc 2!

OK, Morgan. You got me. Joey Moi is a really effective producer for this album because there is just enough diversity and interesting production choices to hold the attention over two albums. Also, I really like Morgan's voice. There is some really nasal quality to it, but the grit and the, I don't know, gravity with which he sings really captivates me. I was shook, honestly. I wasn't expecting THAT level of consistent quality. The top 15 could have been the album for me, but even the second half has some gems and the price I paid for the album was well-worth my top 15 because damn those are some fine songs! This album gets a B+ from me.
Ranking: Cover Me Up (omg) Only Thing That's Gone (what a song) Quittin' Time (see above) 7 Summers (see above) This Bar (see above) Your Bartender (see above) Whiskey'd My Way (see above) More Than My Hometown (see above) Wondering' Bout The Wind (see above) Outlaw (see above) Somethin' Country (bop of ALL country bops) Blame It On Me (bop) Warning (bop) Wasted On You (another bop) 865
Silverado For Sale Neon Eyes Sand In My Boots More Surprised Than Me I Need A Boat Somebody's Problem Beer Don't (this is...bold, but I ain't really mad at it) Me On Whiskey Dangerous Rednecks, Red Letters, Red Dirt Still Goin' Down Heartless Whatcha Think of Country Now Country Ass Shit (LOL) Livin' The Dream (WHAT??? The one misfire on the whole damn double album, which says a lot, but...this is trash. It was really hard to get through, honestly.)

Target is sending me a replacement cd but cannot guarantee it will have the bonus songs. But i have hope after seeing someone tweet that they got the songs on theirs.

Thirty songs was extremely overwhelming at first and a lot blended together, but the dust is finally settling lol I think my favorites over both albums are Quittin' Time and More Surprised Than Me. There are so many potential singles though, I wouldn't mind if these two stayed album tracks? I think the album could definitely go six singles deep with something like: 3rd- Wasted on You 4th- Sand in My Boots 5th- Still Goin Down 6th- 865 or Somebody's Problem (I really want 865 to be a single more than anything 😓) The two I'm not feeling at all are Country A$$ Sh*t and Livin' The Dream. Does anyone else kind of hear the tune to Homeboy in Outlaw?

If the numbers hold up, second week's SPS will be around 156,000.

i think it's funny that people aren't really getting on board with Livin the Dream. I would agree that the production on that song is a mess, but i also think that goes for much of the album. That said it is perhaps the most interesting lyric on the album (barring the Jason Isbell cover lol and perhaps 865)

Got home today and had the version with the bonus songs in my mailbox. Kudos to Target for fixing the issue and sending the replacement and also saying I could keep the original. Had a friend who hasn't bought it yet so he'll be happy.
