This song is sort of just existing, but looks like they're releasing "bible verses" as a promo for the album

This is quite the lyric. Beautiful understated performance from Blake as well. I’d like to see a song like this get a shot at today’s country radio

I’d like to see a song like this get a shot at today’s country radio I could be wrong about this statement but we’ve had very few religious type songs as hits in country music ever. I can think of a few. Probably one of the most religious songs ever to be a #1 single on the country charts was in 1980 I believe. The song was called “One Day At A Time” by Cristy Lane. Which I believe may have been her only hit ever on the chart. The song sounded like a Sunday morning church hymn.

Has there ever been less promo done for an album (that wasn't a surprise release)? And it's not like minimum wage has made any impact?

Minimum Wage is performed on ACM Awards and late night show with Stephen Colbert. Tour announcement today. iHeartradio album release party Thursday. TODAY show, Tiktok live show Friday. Seems like a decent promo schedule.

people still watch network tv? I mean aside from release of music video, TV performance probably is the most effective way of promo because it gets people to buy it.

I actually wonder if it’s releasing promo singles, and doing social media promotion to engage fans (ig performances, fan q&a, that sort of thing). More direct to consumer

#8 on Mediabase this week. I hope this hits #1. It would suck if it doesn't.

I don't know if this song is done, but this week was rough for this song as "Minimum Wage" lost 144 spins and around 700k in audience this week on Mediabase.
This could obviously still hit #1 since so many songs that hit the Top 10 tend to hit #1, but this song has felt like a non event for quite a while and with how bad this week was for "Minimum Wage" it does make me second guess whether or not this will go all the way

Is Blake's radio success kinda dwindling? It seemed like he was back on track with "Nobody but You" and "Happy Anywhere" after "Hell Right" fizzled, but things are looking a little rocky again after this single.

Looks like this song is near the end of the road, this has lost almost 3 million in audience on Mediabase since Monday and over 100 spins as well. Can't say I am too sad to see this leave as it has really become a station changer recently.

I never liked this song but I’m all for “Corn” or “Monday Morning Missin’ You” being the next single. Preferably the latter first.

Blake has said that he was pushing the label for “Corn” before “Minimum Wage” but they said no. Of course who knows if that is the truth considering he likes to be sarcastic.
I’m all for it. Corn is everywhere. At this point in his career, how do they not let him pick his own songs anyway? That song is a jam.

That said, while Blake has a voice, and probably final say, he respects and listens to Esposito and Scott Hendricks as well. It’s more a collaborative project

Glad this is finally about done. It's been limping along on total life support for months. Time for something new... preferably not "Corn" though. I haven't heard the whole album, but "Corn" is pretty hokey and underwhelming. I don't think it would be a #1 hit, either.

I can’t even bring myself to listen to a song called “Corn.”

This continues to sputter. I would expect a new single in a week or two.

Actually a shame this did relatively poorly, in my opinion. I really grew to like it.

I'm glad Blake has finally gotten to the point of his career where only good singles of his hit #1. That 10 year stretch of almost everything going #1 regardless if it was good or not was painful to watch. But with songs like this and "Hell Right" missing the top but "Happy Anywhere", "God's Country", and "Nobody But You" hitting #1, I hope radio only letting his good material make it to the top holds Blake accountable to actually make good music moving forward. I say that without having heard any of his new album other than "Bible Verses" and "Corn" - neither of which I love, but "Corn" is absolute horseshit so I really don't want that as the next single.

Yes I actually grew to like this well enough, especially if it had been an album track and not a single haha
If radio keeps this up with him maybe he’ll stick to releasing better material abd we can get more gems like his early career!

Saw Blake at WeFest last night, found it kinda funny that not only did he ignore this song, but i don’t think he played any of the songs off the new album other than Happy Anywhere(we didn’t get gwen with him sadly😞) Thought for sure this song and whatever the next single is would get played...but nope, nothing! Makes me wonder if he has something new up his sleeve already....
