I gave Sour a full listen a few weeks ago and even though this isn’t the type of pop music I usually enjoy, this album is really good! I’m impressed at how strong this album is and you can definitely feel the Taylor influence in some of the songs. Olivia did a great job and Sour is one of the best albums released this year.

My guess is, “brutal” won’t be a single but the music video’s release will coincidence with the ‘SOUR’ vinyl drop, thus driving sales & streams. “traitor” will remain the official radio single.

"traitor" is confirmed as the 4th single and went for adds on pop radio last week. however, she teased a possible "brutal" video shoot the other day, which could mean their plan is to make that the fifth single.

any single they release from the album will likely have a much shorter run than the first three singles (due to the entire album already being Top 30 hits, lol), so being prepared for the rest of the era is smart. "traitor" has already spent, what, 12 weeks on the Hot 100? doubt they'll have to wait for the new year to push a fifth single, especially since...

there are also rumors of her next album being in the works, possibly titled Sweet. when she was asked about it, she stuttered and gave an awkward response (which people think could be because the rumors are true):

I'm very curious to hear what's next. They are moving quite fast if another record is coming. The plan was for her first release to be a short EP and then DL blew up in January and they turned the project into a full album. Not even a year later and we're already salivating for her second LP.

I say release a new album in 2022 and follow a release pattern similar to Sour. Olivia is a big deal right now, so they might as well strike while the iron is hot. An album called Sweet (which I assume would be thematically opposite of Sour) would be a good way to keep things fresh.

As much as I adore “happier” & “favorite crime”, I think she should push “jealousy, jealousy”. It’s gaining traction right now and it’d break the trend of breakup songs she’s been putting out as singles.

As much as I adore “happier” & “favorite crime”, I think she should push “jealousy, jealousy”. It’s gaining traction right now and it’d break the trend of breakup songs she’s been putting out as singles.

Same. It's the best choice left imo. I prefer "brutal" as a song, but I think JJ has the bigger hit potential (especially because "brutal" has burned through a lot of streams already).
