I knew it, glad we have confirmation now!! I knew when I heard this back 10 days ago, I knew it was only a matter of time before it became official as a radio single.

Kind of figured this would be the next single when it was released right at the start of the year out of seemingly nowhere. I don't hate this by any means but something about Parker McCollum's voice especially on the chorus sounds a bit strained. That being said this sounds radio friendly enough that it should probably hit #1.

I was definitely hoping for Young Man's Blues 😔
I like this one though and want to be optimistic that it can get him another hit.

Me as well, hoping for Young man's Blues. But I like this more than Pretty Heart or Like A Cowboy (which was a followup single after PH on Texas Radio), so I'm okay with this choice after all.

"Young Man's Blues" deserves justice!!!! That would've so broken him out everywhere, in more ways than "Pretty Heart" has. </3
I'm not able to give this one a listen just yet but I really love Parker at this point so I'm betting I'm gonna love this song, and I really hope it manages to score him another #1. I want huge, enduring success for him!

"Young Man's Blues" is a million times better than this, can't believe they went with this instead.
This song isn't that bad or anything, but it's super corny lol.

What on earth are they doing here? "Young Man's Blues" is sitting right there and they pass it up for this mediocrity? It's not even a radio-friendly situation, YMB isn't just radio ready, it had the potential to make Parker into a breakout star. This song is fine, and I expect it to grow on me, but given the way he sings the chorus I can see this having a high burn rate. I really hope this doesn't kill his momentum, but any way you look at it, it's a missed opportunity.

So I’m not a fan of this single. I do like Parker though and am hoping he see’s success overall.

His next single not being "Young Man's Blues" is just a travesty. That was as obvious a smash as I've heard in years. This will probably do fine for him on the charts, but it drastically pales in comparison to the quality of YMB imo. Guess we'll have to add that to the list of missed single opportunities because by the time this one peaks in like 8 months or however long, they'll probably have a host of new stuff to go for him and won't dip back for something like YMB. *sigh* :/

Finally got a chance to give this a spin and as I expected, I love it. My only complaint is that this thread is not dedicated to "Young Man's Blues"!!! </3 </3 </3 That was quite honestly perhaps at least a 2-week #1 smash, and a signature waiting to be signed. This song is great, but damn, why couldn't they have just held on to this and let it be the lead to his debut album, whenever that comes (hopefully before too long)? Love the video tho. Jesus Christ, the man is gorgeous.

Second most added song with 21 stations and I believe 21 total stations regardless, not horrible but I honestly figured with this being the followup to a #1 in "Pretty Heart" it would have been able to get a bit more in terms of adds since this went for adds the same time as HARDY's latest and that got close to 40 (38)

21 adds seems pretty tepid for this. I still think they made a mistake not picking "Young Man's Blues." This song just feels uninteresting and bland, doesn't really have a 'wow factor' to it. With how country radio works, it's impossible to know how this will do in the long run and it might ultimately be fine, but it's most likely gonna be a long, slow climb either way.

I heard this for the first time (ever) on the radio today and I love it. It completely stands out from the other songs charting right now. It also almost feels nostalgic? Like, early 2000s Buckcherry sound. Hope this does well for him.

My station plays this religiously in OKC, I bet it’s half the audience lol. This song is slowly growing on me, I don’t hate it anymore.

I like the song itself. Kinda reminds me of a Bruce Robison vibe.
I would be super thrilled if Parker could discover more than 4 notes and one tone.

I absolutely love "Drinkin'". Wow, this man has not disappointed me once thus far. I've officially gone full on stan mode. I've started to hear TBLBY more frequently at my local station, so I'm hoping he gets to climb back up towards the top, even if it's gonna be awhile longer yet.

"To Be Loved By You" was sent to recurrent on Texas Regional Chart only after 19 weeks and peaked at #22. This started losing momentum a few weeks ago. It's interesting that TBLBY was not pushed to #1 in Texas, while still relatively new in the mainstream chart. (Just to clarify that this doesn't mean the mainstream push is over, as the chart run in Texas Chart is completely different from that in mainstream, looking at Pretty Heart by Parker or Nothin' On You by Cody). Also, Drinkin' just entered the chart at #115, so assuming this will be the next single in Texas.
Unrelated to this song, but speaking of Texas Chart, one of Pulse's well-received songs in Jan "Horses In Heaven" by Kylie Frey hit #1 in Texas this week.

"To Be Loved By You" was never promoted to Texas Radio, so that peak of #22 was based entirely on unsolicited airplay on the strength of Parker's history with the Texas format. Stations just picked it up and started playing it shortly after it was released to streaming. Same thing with "Young Man's Blues," which I think peaked in the 30s at Texas Radio, but was never pushed as a single. The last song that was an official single for Parker at Texas Radio was "Like a Cowboy"..

Kinda interesting move then, as it means he had no single between Like A Cowboy and Drinkin' for about 15 weeks, which would have been enough time to push TBLBY to #1. I also recall "Like A Cowboy" started losing momentum around top 3, (around the same timing as "Young Mans' Blues" entered the chart) and ended up missing #1. Then, YMB climbed to around #55 and dropped when TBLBY was released.

Stations have just picked it up (probably looking for something fresh after quickly burning through TBLBY after it was released in January). Not sure if Parker's team is planning on promoting any Texas Radio singles in the near future. Just guessing here, but I'm assuming that they're probably holding off on promoting different singles to different markets while they're trying to get "To Be Loved By You" and Parker as an artist in general as big as possible nationally.. (especially when he gets plenty of airplay on Texas/Red Dirt radio without a full single push)

For anyone interested in Parker’s CD I found it at Target this morning. Still on the search for Parmalee and Clay Walker. I’m probably gonna have to hit up a record store for those.
