"As It Was" leads each list for a 12th week – scoring a new mark for the longest Global 200 rule and extending its record run atop Global Excl. U.S.
Harry Styles‘ “As It Was” claims a 12th week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. The song rewrites the record for the longest Global 200 reign and extends its unprecedented run atop Global Excl. U.S.
Meanwhile, “Left and Right” by Charlie Puth and Jung Kook, of BTS, launches at No. 2 on Global Excl. U.S. and the Global 200 at No. 5 – tying for the highest-charting solo hit for a BTS member on both surveys, and becoming the highest-charting solo hit for a BTS member in a lead role.
Plus, Beyoncé‘s “Break My Soul” surges from No. 21 to No. 9 on the Global 200, following its first full week of tracking, marking her first top 10 on the tally.
The two charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
‘As It Was’ Solely Has Most Weeks Atop Global 200
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” adds a 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, led by 76.6 million streams (down 7%) worldwide in the June 24-30 tracking week. The song by the British star now sports outright the chart’s longest command so far, surpassing The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s 11-week reign with “Stay” beginning last August.
Bad Bunny’s “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone, returns to its No. 2 Global 200 high, from No. 5; Kate Bush’s 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” lifts 4-3, after a week at No. 1, powered by its synch in Netflix’s Stranger Things; and Joji’s “Glimpse of Us” dips to No. 4 from its No. 2 best.
“Left and Right” by Charlie Puth and Jung Kook, of BTS, soars onto the Global 200 at No. 5 (72.6 million streams worldwide). Each act notches his first top 10 on the chart – as Jung Kook ties for the highest-charting solo hit by a BTS member, and achieves the best rank for a member of the South Korean group in a lead role. PSY’s “That That,” featuring BTS’ SUGA, entered at its No. 5 peak on the May 14 chart, marking the first and only other top 10 so far for a BTS member on the survey. (BTS boasts a record six Global 200 No. 1s.)
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” leaps 21-9, following its first full week of tracking (June 24-30, after its arrival on Tidal at 9 p.m. ET June 20 and its wide release three hours later). It drew 35.3 million global streams June 24-30 (after logging 27.6 million June 20-23).
The lead single from Beyoncé’s album Renaissance (due July 29) marks her first Global 200 top 10 since the chart began.
Styles Stays Atop Global Excl. U.S., Puth & Jung Kook Start at No. 2 Harry Styles’ “As It Was” notches a record-extending 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, fueled by 59.5 million streams (down 6%) in territories outside the U.S. in the June 24-30 tracking week. “Left and Right” by Charlie Puth and Jung Kook blasts onto Global Excl. U.S. at No. 2. While Puth earns his first top 10 on the chart, Jung Kook adds his second, as he becomes the first member of BTS with multiple top 10s, as the song follows his “Stay Alive,” which debuted and peaked at No. 8 in February. “Left and Right,” the third top 10 for a BTS member solo, also matches PSY’s “That That,” featuring SUGA (No. 2, May), as the highest-charting solo Global Excl. U.S. hit for a BTS member, and sparks the best rank for a member of the group in a lead role. (BTS has achieved a record six Global Excl. U.S. No. 1s.) Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito,” rises 4-3 on Global Excl. U.S., after reaching No. 2; Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” slips 3-4, also after hitting No. 2; and Joji’s “Glimpse of Us” backtracks to No. 5 from its No. 2 high. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated July 9, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 6, a day later than usual due to the July 4 holiday in the U.S. yesterday). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. Just some continuations of old trends on this week's update from Khan on the Global 200. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Both new all-time peaks this week are just repeats of songs I talked about last week. First up is Russia. "Belly Dancer" keeps rising slowly, which means BYOR has brought his nation up to #185 on the main chart and #89 on the Excl US, with little sign of stopping. Other dance songs like "Where Are You Now" took forever to give their countries grand new peaks, so this might be the start of some big hit. - The other new peak is only on the main chart, and it's Chile again. The big "Ultra Solo" remix drops slightly on the Excl US, but it looks like it held very well on the main chart, where it rises two spots to #24, Chile's new all-time peak on the main chart. - July 9th specifics! • South Korea has a big new leader this week, Jungkook! So technically he replaces himself. Unlike the previous Korean leader, that BTS single from their compilation album, "Left and Right" with American Charlie Puth is holding very well on streaming. Could be the first proper Korean hit in some time. This song debuted so high on the Excl US chart that Charlie Puth beats out Bad Bunny for highest American on the list. • China returns to the charts because of a new English-language single by current Chinese record-holders Aespa. • On the Excl US, a posthumous single from Sidhu Moose Wala charts at #200, juuuust allowing the subcontinent to chart for an extra week in a row on that chart. • Two bits of old news from countries that need to give us some new hits: Drake's album bomb falls hard on the charts, allowing Justin Bieber to become the biggest Canadian this week again on the Excl US. David Guetta just couldn't hold on, allowing Daft Punk to become the biggest Frenchmen this week again on the main chart.

Just noticed that the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. top 5 are exactly the same this week.
7/11/2022 By Gary Trust
Bush's hit rebounds for a second week at No. 1 on the Global 200 and claims its first frame atop Global Excl. U.S., sparked by its sync in "Stranger Things," whose latest episodes arrived July 1.
Kate Bush‘s 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” is the biggest song in the world, as it returns for a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and posts its first week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey, sparked by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, whose newest episodes, further spotlighting the song, arrived July 1.
The two charts, dated July 16 (and which began in September 2020), rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate.
Bush Back Atop Global 200
Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” rebounds 3-1 for a second week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart, after it first led the list dated June 18. Sparked by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, whose latest episodes premiered July 1, the song, originally released in 1985, sports gains of 21% to 73.7 million streams and 33% to 28,000 sold worldwide in the July 1-7 tracking week.
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” drops to No. 2 on the Global 200, after a record 12 weeks at No. 1 beginning in April.
Notably, British acts have now topped the Global 200 for a milestone 20 consecutive weeks – extending the longest continuous command for any country since the survey began. Prior to Bush’s two weeks at the summit and Styles’ dozen, Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” reigned for six weeks, starting in March.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top five, Bad Bunny’s “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone, slips to No. 3 from its No. 2 high; Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó” revisits its No. 4 best, up from No. 6; and Joji’s “Glimpse of Us” falls 4-5, after reaching No. 2.
‘Hill’ Climbs to No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” concurrently crowns the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, for the first time. The song jumps from No. 4 with increases of 21% to 52.3 million streams and 19% to 11,000 sold in territories outside the U.S. in the July 1-7 tracking week. Rounding out the Global Excl. U.S. top five (which mirrors the ranks of the Global 200’s top five), Harry Styles’ “As It Was” descends to No. 2, after a record 12 weeks at No. 1; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” holds at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” returns to its No. 4 high, from No. 6; and Joji’s “Glimpse of Us” is steady at No. 5, after climbing to No. 2. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated July 16, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 12). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. On this week's update on the Global 200 from Khan, the biggest news is something everyone knows about but no one knew would affect my spreadsheet! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Lars Ulrich of Metallica spent his entire child life in Denmark, which means he absolutely counts for introducing the Nordic country to the Global 200 for the first time ever! Because of a really cool (I assume) Stranger Things scene, "Master of Puppets" by Metallica gets an impressive #26 debut on the main chart and #38 on the Excl US. Ulrich's Viking heritage means this gives Denmark and debut and respectably high peak on both global charts. - Speaking of cold places, Russia is still rising up the charts. BYOR on "Belly Dancer" gives them small new peaks at #168 (main) and #84 (Excl US). - July 16th specifics time. • In addition to the Denmark news, Stranger Things puts Kate Bush back at #1 on both charts, brings back "Pass the Dutchie" by Musical Youth, and gives "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" by Journey a debut, further proving that visual media decides hit songs this decade. • Venezuela finally gets a new leader, unseating the longstanding crown-wearer Danny Ocean. This time it's a new single from Venezuelan singer Lasso. • Mexico also returns to the charts after a brief absence because of "Lo Siento BB:/" just jumping back into high-ish spots in the lower half for some reason.

Bush's "Running Up That Hill" adds a third week at No. 1 on the Global 200 and Styles' "As It Was" tops Global Excl. U.S. for a record-extending 13th week.
Kate Bush‘s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” rules the Billboard Global 200 chart for a third week and Harry Styles‘ “As It Was” rebounds for a 13th week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Argentine producer/recording artist Bizarrap notches his first top 10 on each global ranking, as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” with Spanish artist Quevedo (who also reaches the tallies’ top 10 for the first time), launches at No. 3 on Global Excl. U.S. and No. 5 on the Global 200.

‘Hill’ Holds Atop Global 200
Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” adds a second consecutive and third total week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart, after it first led the list dated June 18. Again helped by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, whose final two episodes premiered July 1, the British singer-songwriter’s hit, originally released in 1985, drew 71.5 million streams (down 3%) and sold 22,000 downloads (down 23%) worldwide in the July 8-14 tracking week.
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” keeps at No. 2 on the Global 200, after a record 12 weeks at No. 1 beginning in April; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” holds at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; and Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó” is steady at its No. 4 best.
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” by Argentine producer/recording artist Bizarrap and Quevedo, from Spain, soars onto the Global 200 at No. 5, led by 63.9 million streams worldwide.
Bizarrap reaches the Global 200’s top 10 for the first time, outpacing his prior No. 20 high — established with “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 49,” with Residente, upon its debut in March. Quevedo hit a previous No. 145 best, also in March, with “Cayo La Noche,” with El Ima, Cruz Cafuné, Bejo, La Pantera, Juseph and Abhir Hathi.
“The first ‘session’ back in 2018 wasn’t even planned,” Bizarrap (real name: Gonzalo Conde) told Billboard last year. “All I wanted to do was record a local rapper, who goes by Kodigo, and upload that to YouTube, because I was a big fan of his and I wanted others to listen to him, too. I thought, ‘Why not give these freestylers the production they deserve?’ So, that’s what I did.”
‘Was’ Is No. 1 Again on Global Excl. U.S. “As It Was” by Britain’s Harry Styles notches a record-extending 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 57.1 million streams (down 2%) and 6,000 downloads sold (down 4%) in territories outside the U.S. over July 8-14. Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” drops to No. 2 after it topped the Global Excl. U.S. chart a week ago, and Bizarrap and Quevedo’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” soars in at No. 3. Bizarrap and Quevedo reached previous Nos. 12 and 64 highpoints on the ranking, respectively. Rounding out the Global Excl. U.S. top five, Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” dips 3-4, after reaching No. 2, and Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” descends to No. 5 from its No. 4 high. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated July 23, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 19). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. Holy CRAP this is one of the busiest weeks of Global 200 news I've ever documented! And so unexpectedly sudden, too. Let's get right into it. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Let's start with the whole new country that's appeared this week. While Armenia did make it onto the main Global 200 early on in its life with a System of a Down comeback barely scraping into the bottom ten, it never touched the Excl US until now. As expected, Eurovision 2022 gave us a viral song, this time the modestly-ranking "Snap" by Armenian singer Rosa Linn. Something about it resonated with the TikTok kids, apparently, as it debuts Armenia at a respectable #104 on the Excl US, and on the main chart it easily beats out the #192-peaking "Protect the Land" to give Armenia a new peak of #170. - Moving onto more new peaks, we have one song give us two at once! Big news in the Spanish-speaking world as Bizarrap gets his biggest volume of the BZRP Music Sessions yet. The Argentine rapper and producer utterly smashed on streaming with the 52nd episode of his collab series, which was enough to beat out the #8-peaking "Plan A" by Paulo Londra to give Argentina a new shiny #5 peak, its first time ever in the top five of the chart. It charted even more impressively on the Excl US, at #3, but so did "Plan A" so currently they tie for all-time Argentine peak. - And who did Bizarrap collab with for this dominating volume? Why, relatively small Spanish rapper Quevedo, of course. He's credited on the song, too, getting the very same new peaks for Spain that Bizarrap got for Argentina. The previous Spanish record was a very longstanding one from the first months of the chart, "La Noche de Anoche" by Bad Bunny and Rosalía. Rosalía is probably the biggest Spanish singer in the world right now, but she couldn't stand up to the power of Quevedo, losing her top ten peaks (#7 on main chart, #8 on Excl US) to his top five peaks. - Onto some smaller news, the continued rise of songs that were already rising. First of, Denmark. "Master of Puppets" rose of the debut, bringing them to #33 on the Excl US and a landmark #20 on the main chart. - Russia rises for like the sixth week in a row. "Belly Dancer" with BYOR moves up a bit for a new peak at #161 on the main chart, but for the first time ever, it doesn't continue this feat on the Excl US. It actually drops a few spots there this week. - And now finally, the July 23rd specifics. • China is back on the charts with Aespa again. Their new song "Girls" becomes so painfully close, literally just one or two spots, to matching the previous all-time Chinese peak on both charts, their other song "Savage" from last year. • Germany is back on the main chart due to "Layla" finally rising enough in points to debut there, though it's been on the Excl US for a few weeks now. • Burna Boy rules Nigeria on the Excl US chart due to CKay finally dropping down. • Also only on the Excl US chart, Sofía Reyes has a new single which has now become the biggest Mexican song on that chart. • Thailand and Taiwan drop out of the Excl US chart, notable because of how constantly various K-pop acts have kept those two lands on there for almost a year now.

Hey hey it's an update on the Global 200 from Khan a day earlier than usual because I'm in Paris tomorrow and hella busy. But it's also a special occasion because of our first bit of news! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Today, I get to report possibly the most exciting news I can report in this format. We have two nations reach #1 on both charts for the first time ever! The first time I get to announce a new country at #1 since "Envolver" all those months ago. After getting the all-time peaks for two countries last week, the wonderfully named "Quevedo: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52" by Bizarrap and Quevedo tops both global charts this week due to meteoric and genuinely historic streaming growth from last week for a Latin song. Bizarrap, representing Argentina, and Quevedo, representing Spain, are the unlikely and sudden champions who give both their homelands the very prestigious (and more importantly, permanent) trophy of having, at a time, the biggest song on Earth. - Back to regular news, we have some new peaks due to continued rises. Don't let the double #1 distract you from the utterly massive single-week jump for Armenia. "Snap" by Rosa Linn, this year's random viral Eurovision moment, zooms into the top half of the charts in a snap. Armenia's all-time peak moves from #170 to #55 on the main chart and #104 to #42 on the Excl US. - Only on the main chart, Russia continues with a little rise from BYOR of #161 to #144. - July 30th specific news woot woot • Sweden is back on the main chart because of some recurrent Avicii streaming being slightly higher than usual. • Austria and India return to the Excl US because of RAF Camora collabing with Bonez MC and Arijit Singh collabing with Bollywood. • "Layla" enters into the top twenty in the Excl US, the first German appearance in the region since "Breaking Me" at the very beginning of the chart. Could a nearly two-year-old peak be broken soon?

The artists from Argentina and Spain, respectively, hold atop the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S.
Bizarrap, from Argentina, and Quevedo, from Spain, continue to boast the biggest song in the world, as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a second week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. A week earlier, the track became the first leader on the lists for each act.
Meanwhile, OneRepublic‘s “I Ain’t Worried,” from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, flies to both tallies’ top 10, climbing 12-9 on the Global 200 and 14-10 on Global Excl. U.S.
’52’ No. 1 for Second Week on Global 200 “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” by Argentine producer/recording artist Bizarrap and Spanish freestyler Quevedo, spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, as it drew 92 million streams (up 4%) and sold 1,000 downloads (up 34%) worldwide in the July 22-28 tracking week. “For me, he was the perfect bridge between the Argentine urban movement and the world,” Federico “Fede” Lauria, president of Bizarrap’s label, Dale Play Records, told Billboard last week of his 2019 signing of the artist whose “Sessions” series began in 2018. “You could already see his impact in Argentina. His sessions were already having an effect.” (Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, Sept. 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing. You can register here.) “My music is now heard around the world, and it’s something that’s honestly just incredible,” marveled Quevedo, who noted that Bizarrap reached out to him via Instagram for their collaboration. “He told me he liked what I was doing and was hoping we could do music together. The timing was perfect because I was in Argentina recording. So, we decided to do the session then. We recorded the song [and] then just spent the day laughing and watching videos on YouTube. “Whatever Bizarrap touches turns gold,” Quevedo further mused. “Also, the song is perfect for summer and festivals, and people can sing along and dance to it. Plus, I’m a new artist, so I think people are intrigued about what I’m doing.” Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2 on the Global 200, after a record 12 weeks at No. 1 beginning in April; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” rebounds 4-3, after reaching No. 2; Kate Bush’s 1985 anthem “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” falls 3-4, following three weeks at the summit sparked by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things; and Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó” is steady at No. 5, after hitting No. 4. Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, OneRepublic’s “I Ain’t Worried” jumps 12-9, with 31.3 million streams (up 3%) and 7,000 sold (essentially even week-over-week) worldwide. The song marks the Ryan Tedder-fronted group’s first top 10 since the survey began; on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, the single has so far reached No. 24 (as of the Aug. 6 list), marking the band’s highest-charting hit since 2014. The song is the first Global 200 top 10 from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack; the set’s “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga rose to No. 37 in June. Bizarrap & Quevedo Also Keep Atop Global Excl. U.S. “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” by Bizarrap and Quevedo concurrently crowns the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a second week, with 86.7 million streams (up 2%) and 800 downloads sold (up 28%) in territories outside the U.S. in the July 22-28 tracking week. (Of the song’s global totals in that span, 94% of its streams and 79% of its sales were from beyond the U.S., slightly gaining domestically from respective splits of 96% and 82% a week earlier, as the track holds at No. 5 on the U.S.-based Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and surges 20-13 on Hot Latin Songs.) The rest of the Global Excl. U.S. chart’s top five lines up as on the Global 200: Harry Styles’ “As It Was” keeps at No. 2, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” rises 4-3, after reaching No. 2; Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” slips 3-4, after it topped Global Excl. U.S. three weeks earlier; and Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” is stationary at No. 5, following its No. 4 peak. Also as on the Global 200, OneRepublic’s “I Ain’t Worried” becomes the band’s first Global Excl. U.S. top 10, charging 14-10 with 22.2 million streams and 3,000 sold outside the U.S. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 6, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 2). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. This time on Khan's weekly Global 200 updates, I correct not one but two mistakes that I missed over the past few weeks. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- First, some new peaks. Armenia and Rosa Linn are still shooting up the charts as "Snap" captivates the TikTok teens. Who knows how far it can go before it stabilizes? For now, Armenia makes its first appearance in the main chart's top fifty as the song moves its peak from #55 to #36 this week. On the Excl US, it's doing a little better, moving the peak up from #42 to #23. - And the same thing can be said for Russia. It's much slower, but "Belly Dancer" with BYOR is still seemingly in its growing phase. It nets a small new all-time peak for Russia on the main chart, #144 to #136, and a more respectable new peak of #79 on the Excl US chart. Knowing how dance songs can be on this chart, this may peak low for Russia, but it could stick around a long time. - And now August 6th specifics! Where those mistakes are... • First of all, Coldplay's own "Yellow" passed the tumbling "My Universe" on the main chart a couple of weeks ago, meaning Wales's representation coming from lead guitarist of the band also changed between those songs a couple of weeks ago. • There's also the case of the Philippines. I forgot that core member of the Black Eyes Peas, apl.de.ap, is Filipino, so their song "Don't You Worry" that has been charting on the lower end of the Excl US chart for a few weeks now has counted as Philippine representation the whole time. • Now onto real weekly news. "Kesariya" which debuted low on the Excl US chart last week has shot up in that chart and debuted low on the main chart this week, breaking a rather long leave of absence for India on the main chart. • On the Excl US chart, Brazil has a new leader! The enormous smash "Envolver" has finally shrunk enough to make way for "Pipoco" by Ana Castela, Melody, and DJ Chris No Beat.

Save Your Tears already above Stay on Global 200 (#18 vs #20). Just like Blinding Lights, that song is having insane longevity. Speaking of Blinding Lights, it overtook Levitating (another longevity giant) on the same chart a couple weeks ago.

Bizarrap, from Argentina, and Quevedo, from Spain, again claim the biggest song in the world, as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a third week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. Two weeks earlier, the track became the first leader on the lists for each act.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé‘s “Break My Soul” bounds 22-6 on the Global 200 and 31-9 on Global Excl. U.S. – as her new LP Renaissance roars in as her seventh No. 1 on the U.S-based Billboard 200 albums chart. Plus, Rosalía‘s “Despechá” debuts at Nos. 8 and 6 on the respective global lists.
’52’ = 1 for Third Week on Global 200
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” by Argentine producer/recording artist Bizarrap and Spanish freestyler Quevedo, spends a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, as it drew 87 million streams (down 5%) and sold 1,000 downloads (up 11%) worldwide in the July 29-Aug. 4 tracking week.
(Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, Sept. 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing. You can register here.)
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” keeps at No. 2 on the Global 200, after a record 12 weeks at No. 1 beginning in April; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” repeats at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó” rebounds to its No. 4 high from No. 5; and Kate Bush’s 1985 anthem “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” drops 4-5, following three weeks at the summit powered in part by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” blasts 22-6 on the Global 200, as the lead single from her album Renaissance, released July 29, soared by 87% to 40.7 million streams and 98% to 16,000 sold worldwide in the week ending Aug. 4. The song – which vaults to No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100 – previously spent a week in the Global 200’s top 10, at No. 9, in early July, marking Beyoncé’s first top 10 since the chart began.
Plus, Rosalía’s “Despechá” launches at No. 8 on the Global 200, with 39.4 million streams and 3,000 sold globally in its first week, following its July 29 release. The electro-merengue/mambo mix marks the Spanish star’s second top 10 on the chart, after “La Noche de Anoche,” with Bad Bunny, debuted and peaked at No. 7 in December 2020. Bizarrap & Quevedo, Beyoncé, Rosalía Also in Global Excl. U.S. Top 10 “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” by Bizarrap and Quevedo concurrently crowns the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a third week, with 81.8 million streams (down 6%) and 800 downloads sold (up 1%) in territories outside the U.S. in the July 29-Aug. 4 tracking week. The rest of the Global Excl. U.S. chart’s top five lines up as on the Global 200: Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” is steady at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” revisits its No. 4 best, from No. 5; and Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” slips 4-5, after it topped Global Excl. U.S. for a week in mid-July. Also as on the Global 200, Rosalía and Beyoncé shine in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, as the former’s “Despechá” debuts at No. 6 on the latter list (35.5 million streams, 2,000 sold outside the U.S. in its first week) and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” surges 31-9 (22.8 million, up 65%; 6,000 sold, up 91%). Rosalía posts her third Global Excl. U.S. top 10, after her featured turn, with Farruko, on Sech, Daddy Yankee and J Balvin’s “Relación” and her Bad Bunny team-up “La Noche de Anoche,” both No. 8 hits in 2020. Beyoncé earns her first Global Excl. U.S. top 10. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 13, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 9). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. Somewhat relevant!
If Chinese consumption services start to count for the Global 200 because of this, expect K-pop to finally have some longevity and just hella Chinese hits.

As it's a big album bomb week on both global charts, this Global 200 update from Khan is more muted than usual. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- That doesn't mean we don't have any new peaks, though! Jamaica is this week's champion, with Beam's feature on Beyoncé's "Energy" propelling Jamaica's best performance on the Global 200 from #37 to #23, nearly the top twenty. This is only on the main chart, where the previous record held by Sleep Hallow's "2055" is beaten. On the Excl US chart, Rvssian still reigns supreme due to Beyoncé's album bomb having much less effect. - And, of course, Armenia's growth continues. "Snap" by Rosa Linn is finally getting US attention, so don't expect these new Armenian peaks to stop, even if they're small this week. The song and the nation move their all-time peaks from #36 to #34 on the main chart and #23 to #20 on the Excl US chart. Armenia's first showing in the top twenty there! - And now for August 13th specific news. • Mexico gets a new reigning song this week, with "El Rescate" by Grupo Marca Registrada and Junior H rising up on the main chart. It only debuts low this week on the Excl US chart, so this doesn't count for there, a rare case for a Spanish song. • Blackpink is back! It's only a promotional single tied into a video game, but the debut of "Ready for Love" brings New Zealand (through Rosé) and Thailand (through Lisa) back onto both charts for now. This is bad news for Thai singer Bowkylion (a rare non-K-pop-connected Thai presence on the charts), who scores her first global chart debut on the Excl US chart this week, but is blocked from wearing Thailand's crown by Lisa. • Speaking of Southeast Asia, Vietnam makes a return to the Excl US chart after a long hiatus. "Attention" by NewJeans, a new K-pop group with a lot of attention, includes Vietnamese singer Hanni.

Plus, new top 10 collaborations from benny blanco, BTS & Snoop Dogg and DJ Khaled, Drake & Lil Baby.
Harry Styles‘ “As It Was” rebounds for a record-extending 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, while Bizarrap and Quevedo‘s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a fourth consecutive and total week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Meanwhile, two collaborations by three stars each debut in the Global 200’s top 10: benny blanco, BTS and Snoop Dogg‘s “Bad Decisions,” at No. 6, and DJ Khaled‘s “Staying Alive,” featuring Drake and Lil Baby, at No. 10. The former also starts at No. 7 on Global Excl. U.S.
Styles’ Lucky 13th Week Atop Global 200
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” rebounds, from No. 2, for a record-padding 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song by the British superstar, which began its reign in April, drew 62.5 million streams (down 3%) and sold 9,000 downloads (down 7%) worldwide in the Aug. 5-11 tracking week.
Bizarrap and Quevedo’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” dips to No. 2 after three weeks atop the Global 200. (Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, Sept. 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing. You can register here.)
The rest of the Global 200’s top five holds in place from a week earlier: Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito,” at No. 3 after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó,” at its No. 4 high; and Kate Bush’s 1985 anthem “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” at No. 5 following three weeks at the summit powered in part by its sync in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
benny blanco, BTS and Snoop Dogg’s “Bad Decisions” launches at No. 6 on the Global 200, with 45.8 million streams and 40,000 sold worldwide in its first week, following its Aug. 5 arrival. The song marks BTS’ landmark 10th top 10 on the chart – the most among duos or groups, and South Korean acts – benny blanco’s second (after “Lonely,” with Justin Bieber, hit No. 5 in October 2020) and Snoop Dogg’s first since the survey began.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, DJ Khaled’s “Staying Alive,” featuring Drake and Lil Baby, debuts at No. 10, with 35 million streams and 6,000 sold in its first week, following its Aug. 5 release. The track – which interpolates the Bee Gees’ classic “Stayin’ Alive,” a four-week No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100 in 1978 – is Drake’s record-extending 19th Global 200 top 10, Lil Baby’s sixth and DJ Khaled’s first.
Bizarrap & Quevedo Top Global Excl. U.S., Rosalía Hits Top Five “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” by Bizarrap, from Argentina, and Quevedo, from Spain, tops the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a fourth week, with 57.6 million streams (down 30%) and 800 downloads sold (down 1%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 5-11 tracking week. Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” is steady at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” repeats at its No. 4 best; and Rosalía’s “Despechá” rises 6-5 in its second week on the chart, led by 41.6 million streams, up 17%, outside the U.S., becoming the Spanish singer-songwriter’s first top five hit among three top 10s. Plus, benny blanco, BTS and Snoop Dogg’s “Bad Decisions” bounds in at No. 7 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 36.3 million streams and 21,000 sold outside the U.S. The song is BTS’ 10th top 10 on the chart – as on the Global 200, the most among duos or groups and South Korean acts – benny blanco’s second (after “Lonely,” with Justin Bieber, reached No. 7 in November 2020) and Snoop Dogg’s first. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 20, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 16). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes an exhaustive and thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data, removing any suspicious or unverifiable activity using established criteria before final chart calculations are made and published. In partnership with Billboard, data deemed suspicious and unverifiable is disqualified prior to final calculations.

Fairly normal episode on this update from Khan on the Global 200, but hey new country! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- The new country to speak of already existed on the Excl US chart. "Muộn rồi mà sao còn" by Sơn Tùng M-TP has been the Vietnamese leader for months there now because of charting at #126 on a very impressive streaming week over a year ago. However, that local pop star has finally been dethroned by someone with much more worldwide appeal, Hanni of the new K-pop group NewJeans! Their debut single "Attention" debuted on the Excl US chart last week, but it finally breaks into the main chart at #82, putting Vietnam on the main chart for the first time ever. On the Excl US chart, the single blasts up to #55, easily overtaking Sơn Tùng M-TP's bottom half placement for a new all-time peak. - What else is there for me to say about Armenia this week that I haven't said the past few weeks? "Snap" is showing more impressive streaming than even past Eurovision winner "Arcade" ever did, and it's just tied the peak that "Zitti e buoni" reached last year. Rosa Linn rises to #22 on the main chart, up from #34. And on the Excl US chart, "Snap" moves from #20 to #16, all new Armenian peaks. - Smaller new peaks for Russia, where "Belly Dancer" is holding steady. Of course, after a Beyoncé album bomb, holding steady means moving up, bringing BYOR and Russia up to #133 on the main chart and #74 on the Excl US chart. - August 20th time • Two big debuts this week take the crown for their respective counties. "Bad Decisions" featuring BTS beats "Left and Right" for biggest Korean song this week on both charts. "Staying Alive" featuring Drake takes the Canadian title on the main chart this week, too. Surprisingly, the leader for Canada on the Excl US chart this week ends up being "Save Your Tears" though. • That Bowkylion I brought up last week holds on barely at #199 to claim one week as Thai leader as the Blackpink song drops out due to only existing on YouTube.

It's only a top 100, but it has been a while since that there have one of these videos. It just noticed that Sweater Weather achieved a new peak this week at #51 in its 98th week in the chart.

Plus, new top 10s for Nicki Minaj, Steve Lacy, Manuel Turizo and Ado.
Bizarrap, from Argentina, and Quevedo, from Spain, claim the biggest song in the world, as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and a fifth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Plus, Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Freaky Girl” launches at No. 5 on the Global 200 and Steve Lacy‘s “Bad Habit” rises 12-10. On Global Excl. U.S., two songs also make their first appearances in the top 10: Manuel Turizo‘s “La Bachata” (12-7) and Ado‘s “New Genesis” (18-8).
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” by producer/recording artist Bizarrap and freestyler Quevedo, spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, as it drew 74.1 million streams and sold 1,200 downloads worldwide in the Aug. 12-18 tracking week. (Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, Sept. 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing. You can register here.)
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” drops to No. 2 after a record 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Global 200; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” holds at No. 3 after reaching No. 2; and
Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó” is steady at its No. 4 high.
Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” debuts at No. 5 on the Global 200 with 35.9 million streams and 52,000 sold (on full-service digital music retailers) worldwide in its first week, following its Aug. 12 arrival. The song, which samples Rick James’ 1981 classic “Super Freak,” marks Minaj’s second top 10 since the Global 200 began, and her top-charting title, after “Do We Have a Problem,” with Lil Baby, debuted and peaked at No. 7 in February.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” reaches the region, up 3% to 34.7 million streams and 21% to 1,500 sold globally, becoming his first top 10 on the ranking.
‘Vol. 52’ Tops Global Excl. U.S. for Fifth Week
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” by Bizarrap and Quevedo rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a fifth week, with 68.8 million streams and 800 downloads sold in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 12-18 tracking week.
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Rosalía’s “Despechá” rises 5-3 for a new best; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” slips 3-4, after reaching No. 2; and Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” drops to No. 5 from its No. 4 high.
Manuel Turizo’s “La Bachata” leaps 12-7 on Global Excl. U.S., led by its 18% gain to 35.4 million streams outside the U.S. Among four prior entries, the Colombian singer hit a No. 40 best with “La Nota,” with Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro in November 2020. He has posted two top 10s on the U.S.-based Hot Latin Songs chart, among 20 visits dating to his first five years ago this week.
Also new to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, Ado’s “New Genesis” vaults 18-8, with 21.8 million streams (up 31%) and 19,000 sold (up 17%). The track by the Japanese singer surges following the Aug. 6 premiere of One Piece Film: Red, as the song serves as the theme to the 15th edition of the One Piece anime movie series. In seven previous appearances on the chart, Ado reached a No. 16 high with her first entry, “Usseewa,” in February 2021. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 27, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 23). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. The word of the day on this update from Khan on the Global 200 is momentum. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Before the momentum, though, a big debut. Trinidad and Tobago-born Nicki Minaj has represented her island country on the charts before, giving it a peak of #7 on the main chart and #49 on the Excl US chart with her Lil Baby collab. The trend of doing far more poorly on the second chart continues this week as "Super Freaky Girl" becomes her best performance yet. She brings T&T up to the top five of the main chart for the first time ever with a #5 debut, actually tying the peak of fellow Caribbean island nation Cuba. On the Excl US chart, the song gets a much more modest #25 debut, still a new peak. - These NewJeans girls are seriously taking off, exemplified by how Vietnamese member Hanni propels her country up on this chart. Not only does almost the whole first EP debut on both charts, Vietnam rises up from #82 to a new peak of #56 on the main chart. On the Excl US chart, they get their first top fifty appearance as the song hops from #51 to #34 this week. - Russia technically gets a new peak this week. I say technically because, on the main chart, BYOR and "Belly Dancer" move from a peak of #133 to #132 this week. I think this is the first time ever that it's just by one spot when in the lower half of the chart. As usual for these dance beats, Russia performs much better on the Excl US chart by moving its peak from #74 to #66. - August 27th woot woot. • Two titans fall this week! First off, Bomba Estéreo on "Ojitos Lindos" have been the Colombian leaders on the charts ever since that album released, but the sudden hit "La Bachata" by Colombian singer Manuel Turizo beats them out on the Excl US chart. • In the same vein, on the Excl US chart, Joji is ousted for Japanese leader by Ado's One Piece contribution. Something I thought would take much longer due to his song's Englishness!

^I see Ado has 4 songs in the Global 200 this week, which is not surprising since it had 6 songs in the Hot 100 Japan. Also, I completely had missed Summertime Sadness entering the chart a few weeks ago. It seems to have to do with the song's 10th anniversary.
