Pink's most well known song is Get The Party Started but it's not her biggest hit.

Pink's most well known song is Get The Party Started but it's not her biggest hit. I honestly wouldn't know off the top of my head what her most well known hit is, but I don't think its that one. I'd say it maybe was until "So What," "Raise Your Glass," and "Just Give Me A Reason" happened. Those three (and possibly a few other songs of hers) have sort of eclipsed that one in my opinion. "Get The Party Started" was popular at the time but I don't think it held up that well.

Must be me then, I don't remember ever hearing it on the radio or seeing the video on MTV/VH1 when it was a hit but I definitely remember Fergalicious, Glamorous, Clumsy and even London Bridge. Maybe it was because I was 8 at the time but I do remember the other big hits in 2007 but I don't ever remember this being a hit, which is a shame because it's by far her best hit. London Bridge I dont remember and Fergalicous I vaguely remember. People have forgotten about Clumsy although I remember when it was on the radio every 5 minutes in early 2008. Glamorous is known for the "if you ain't got no money" part. But I'm shocked that you dont remember BGDC. I was 5 at the time and I remember the summer of '07 when MTV/VH1 would play the video every day and I remember when that song was ALWAYS on the radio. They literally played that song every hour on the hour. damn...

Also I think Xtina is worth mentioning since Beautiful has outlasted all of her number one singles

Also I think Xtina is worth mentioning since Beautiful has outlasted all of her number one singles I think "Genie In A Bottle" and "Lady Marmalade" remain just as popular (I guess it depends on the demographics), but yeah, "What A Girl Wants" and "Come On Over" have sadly been forgotten by the general public.

How is this different than signature song? There are no parameters so of course thereβll be disagreement but theyβll have to be allowed without argument because, well, the lack of a definition. A signature song could also be someone's biggest hit. This is for signature songs that weren't the biggest hit. Not sure how that's confusing, especially with people providing examples.

Considering neither "most known" or "signature song" even have a definition of what they are, I'm not sure why you've decided to jump down my throat for daring question it but keep doing you.

"Last Dance" by Donna Summer reached num.3 on the Hot 100. She had 4 songs reach num.1 like "Hot Stuff, Macarthur Park, Bad Girls" etc but I think she's most remembered for "Last Dance".

"I Feel Love" is her signature hit in critic circles because of its inventiveness and influence. "Hot Stuff" has by far her most Spotify streams (the top 3 songs on her artist page are all versions of "Hot Stuff").

kinda think you could make a case for Britney's "Toxic" here if you tried hard enough. It's easily her most streamed song to date.

I've never thought of "Toxic" as Britney's most remembered hit really. I know many of her fans call it that but the public may not even remember "Toxic" all that much compared to others. I would think it would be her debut single or "Slave For You"?

I'd say "Baby One More Time" and "Toxic" for Britney. Either way I don't think "Toxic" fits here as "BOMT" is her biggest chart hit, and it's at least still remembered well.

Toxic is Britney's most streamed hit and most critically acclaimed hit. Toxic also gets more radio airplay in 2021 than Baby One More Time does. So I would say that Toxic is Britney's most well known hit while Baby One More Time is is her biggest hit chartwise.

"BOMT" has more YT streams.

I'm gonna say Daft Punk. Although Get Lucky is their biggest hit it feels more like a Pharrell than their's, I feel like Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and even One More Time is more well known.

Prince is a possible answer, though it feels weird saying him because so many of his songs are well-known. Still, "Purple Rain" is pretty much his signature song, but it wasn't hit biggest hit (or even among his top 3 hits charts-wise).
Shania Twain's biggest chart hit was "You're Still the One," but at this point it feels like her most known song is "Man! I Feel Like A Woman."

Don't know about the rest of the world, but that's most definitely true here in Brazil... "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" is BY FAR her most well known song here.

matchbox twenty is another one. "Bent" was their biggest chart hit (#1 on the Hot 100), yet nowhere near their most remembered song. "Push" is their most streamed on Spotify, and "3AM" is their most watched on YT. "Bent" isn't even in their top 3 on either platform.
