i just checked AM charts, had no idea the yung bleu/drake song is #11 lol. how is this song that was released in Oct still so high Yeah it's doing really well. Re-entered #10 on AM this morning and it peaked at #9 in October. Constantly rising on Spotify UK this week too. I wrote it off on its first day but I revisited it during the Christmas period and now its my #1 on my Spotify On Repeat playlist lol. Hope there's more of this on CLB!

So I just found today that Harry released Treat People with Kindness as a single last week, any odds that it will be a hit after Golden? It's not a terrible song but it's easily one of the weakest songs on Fine Line. I think 'TPWK' is treated as single only in the UK since the song was sent to AC radio there, I didn't find anything about it impacting the US radio. The best shot at entering the BH100 chart (it debuted on Bubbling Under when Harry released 'Fine Line') was when the music video dropped (January 1) but the track didn't even re-enter the daily Spotify Top 200 chart, so the chances are low if not non-existent.

Would have rather seen those gains go to 7 Summers, but I do like MTMH quite a bit.

I doubt the remix is going to replace the original.
Radio usually replaces the original while the remix is hot but they'll change it back once the hype died down. It happened with Say So, Perfect and even bad guy if I remember correctly, and given the middling response to the remix, I think it's going to happen here as well.

I think kworb listed a remix version on radio estimates because it's higher on iTunes than the original, not because it gets played more by radio stations. But if I'm wrong someone please correct me ;)

It's also been steadily rising on radio since it's release (#23 on Urban, #28 on Rhythmic). I just checked and it's the #3 most-shazamed song in the U.S. behind drivers license and lonely so more people are discovering the song daily. It's a nice tune. I wish it'd peaked higher when it was first released.

There's no guarantee that more versions will get the same engagement as the first remix got or that even if they do, it'll be enough to topple drivers license. Also, that would be overly desperate on Ariana's part. She should be happy with it peaking higher in the top 10/serving some longevity there.

Nothing huge coming up soon and “Positions” has held up longer than we originally anticipated as well, so they might be waiting for the hype of “Driver’s License” to die down a bit before they release the add-ons in an attempt to try for the number one. They could save that to see if "dl" dies down at all and there's a better week for it. "34+35" will be like "positions" were its radio peak is later in its run and keeps it high on the Hot 100, so that might be a better week to pull out the tricks.

I don't think it's that premature to think about a long run at #1. It's starting at such a huge level that it would take catastrophic percentage decreases for it to reach the level of the closest competitor.
And in reality it's relatively stable or even rising on streaming still.
We already saw this with OTR and The Box in recent years. I'm not saying 10+ weeks are in the bag but I'd be shocked if it didn't at least nab more weeks at #1 than "WAP" (which started with a huge number too but also felt way more like a meme/viral video thing).

When “last weeks” chart comes out that will be one week at number one.
This will be the 13th song to debut at number one in the last 41 weeks. Basically one every three weeks
10 plus weeks at number one means the next big thing will suddenly stop coming. We will see.
Anything can happen of course. As with any ‘map the future’ discussion we will find out when we get there.

If I were Olivia I'd be worried if BTS, Ariana, and Taylor weren't between projects right now but since they are I don't think we will be seeing the confluence of 2020 pace #1 debuts coming all in the next couple of months at this point in the year.
Drake is yet to be accounted for though which if we believe the rumors he's coming and trust any rapper's projected timeline as bible is trouble. For now the fact that she's running laps around big 34+35 remix level songs with radio on the way means at the very least its Olivia's time at the moment and we'll see how long it lasts. Do hope she gets the double digits tho.

I would not be so quick to declare that a long-running #1 indicates a market change when 2020 itself was a departure from the norm - it was the first time since 1991 that the Hot 100 had 20 or more #1s. It's definitely worth noting that The Box was the last number one we had before COVID-19 began wreaking havoc.
Looking at the last five chart years (2016-2020), you have to go back to 2016 to find a year where there wasn't an 8+ week #1 beginning its run in the first two months (and even that is a technicality; Work reached #1 on the first dated chart week for March, but in real time that means the last week of February). If Drivers License has a run that long it would actually hint at a return to normalcy.
