I just think it's unfair that those artists automatically get so much radioplay while other songs with better streaming and more relevance get dropped all the time. Like you cannot deny the favortism. But you're right they're not being carried. Just moreso being propped up. Oh yeah, absolutely! It still baffles me how Miley's "Midnight Sky" suddenly got dropped out of radioplay estimates, despite it's excellent initial callouts, while something like "Yummy" had a longer shelf life (if I recall correctly). Yummy was dropped instantly. It went up like crazy then got dropped once callouts came out. What In the hell is levitating doing up there still because I can tell you know, levitating wasn’t out streaming yummy.

I know "Yummy" benefitted from a two-week radio deal to push for a higher peak, but while I remember it free-falling as soon as the bad callouts came, it did stick around for a little longer compared to "Midnight Sky", but I'm not 100% sure.
"Levitating" is doing well on streaming, though. It's currently at #11, which is a great position for a nu-disco leaning song. While Dua definitely benefitted from strong radio support (see "Break My Heart", as much as I love the song), you didn't pick a good example here.

Midnight Sky's run reminds me a lot of that of You Should Be Sad - generally well-received upon release, relatively stable in sales and/or streaming for weeks, but never had enough radio momentum to be high on the charts for all that long despite good callouts. The only difference is that YSBS saw its entire run occur during the tracking year, so it went on to be immortalized in the 2020 YE, while Midnight Sky is all but confirmed to be caught between years.

^^^ Pretty much. And it's interesting you brought up Halsey, because she's another one who seems to struggle with radio support these days, which is so weird, given she had the biggest radio hit of 2019 with "Without Me".
"Graveyard" suffered a similar situation too, and "Be Kind" failed to gain any support despite having a super pop-friendly sound.

I don't think Yummy lasted enough to get into callouts. It flew to #12 and started dropping the minute payola ended.
Midnight Sky had a longer run on radio but peaked lower.

Levitating hasn't been getting Yummy's peak streams because Yummy was a big return, of course it was going to get a ton of streams. But that doesn't matter because Levitating has been more consistent and organic in it's stream and radio growth. Yummy dropped in places except the radio and then once the album dropped, radio dropped it as well

Speaking of Dua, can we please get a mulligan on Physical? It 100 percent deserved to be a hit in the US.

drivers license starting to come back down to earth, but streams are still massive. WW (#1) 12.110M (-1.604M) US (#1) 4.100M (-0.871M) UK (#1) 1.024M (-0.186M) Still very high, but it has declined several days in a row now in the U.S. This is why 10 week #1 speculation and all is too early, though harmless. It obviously doesn't have a challenger in sight, but something new could easily come along and topple it in a few weeks.

Yeah, I suspect that by Friday next week, it'll be down to < 3M daily streams, maybe even lower. A single with a lot of momentum could easily outdo that in a few weeks, but until then, it should remain at #1. I also thought the 10+ week at #1 projection was a bit immature because people were saying the same thing about WAP after it's strong start on streaming.

songs t20 on US spotify, itunes, youtube, apple rn drivers license 1, 1, 1, 1 34+35 remix 4, 7, 9, 15
It's great to see a song dominate everywhere. Looking at the past years of dominating spotify, digital, youtube weekly charts; checked the sales toppers then the other ranks: wap 1, 1, 1 (Weeks ending 8/13 and 8/20/2020) *2 willow 1, 1, 2 (12/17/2020)
lose you to love me 2, 1, 1 (10/31/2019) old town road remix 1, 1, 1 (4/11, 4/18, 4/25/2019) *3 me 1, 1, 2 (5/2/2019) sucker 1, 1, 2 (3/7/2019) sunflower 1, 1, 1 (1/3, 1/10, & 1/17/2019) *3 7 rings 1, 1, 1 (1/24 & 2/7/2019) *2
thank u next 1, 1, 1 (11/8 & 11/15/2018) *2 in my feelings 1, 1, 1 (7/19, 7/26, & 8/16/2018) *3 this is america 1, 1, 1 (5/17/2018) *1 god's plan 1, 1, 1 (2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/8, 3/15, & 3/29/2018) *6
From late september 2017 since that's when youtubecharts started. We definitely seemed to be less all-in on a song last year, with only Wap pulling through.

I still believe that weeks 2, 3, and 4 are locked in at #1 for drivers license. I think the first potential challenge will come in the 5th week, when The Weeknd performs in Super Bowl LV. Blinding Lights and maybe even Save Your Tears, if they are performed, could challenge for the #1 on the February 20 chart.

Imagine if the Weeknd just didn't perform Blinding Lights lol. The swerve.
But seriously if he doesn't perform SYT to give it a boost I will be salty.

"LoWeR sTrEaMs!!!" DL is actually being piloted by real listens, not over inflation by obsessed stans with too much money that mass buy one week at #1 and another week at #93. Idk what rule changes this person wants, that only one is lowering streaming power which would kill off all the real hits. I actually want the charts to have more streaming power and less radio and sales. Eww, no.

How many Morgan Wallen songs are we expecting to make the year end? I say three so far, More Than My Hometown, 7 Summers and Wasted on You.

MTMH, probably, it will depend on how fast radio and streaming drop it in the weeks ahead. WOY is a toss-up, we'll have to see what the next official radio single is before we can make that call, although it wouldn't surprise me if it did get the push.

If Bad Boy somehow manages to debut top 10, we could have 2 Young Thug songs (features) in the top 10 at once. This would be his first time achieving such a feat, as he has previously only had one three top 10's (Havana, Goodbyes, and Franchise w/ Go Crazy being his second fourth top 10)
