"We Can Work It Out" by the Beatles was written by Paul McCartney with the able assistance of John Lennon in the bridge. It was issued as a double A-side single with "Day Tripper" in December 1965. They recorded it during the sessions for the "Rubber Soul" album and it was later included on the 1966 US album "Yesterday". . .and Today" (track 3 on Side 2.) 55 years ago today..."We Can Work It Out" scored the second of three non-consecutive weeks at No.1 on the Hot 100. The song became The Beatles' eleventh No.1 hit in the U.S. whilst "Day Tripper" peaked at No.5. - Back at home, "Day Tripper"/"We Can Work It Out" did even better by scoring five weeks on top of the U.K. chart, their ninth No.1 there.

One of my favorites by them. I love Stevie Wonder's cover too. Chaka Khan also has a good cover.

I prefer "Day Tripper," but this one is good too. In context of their discography, I tend to forget about it (as a do a lot of their pre-Revolver stuff), but I enjoy it when I listen to it.
