Apparently, Country albums have a separate subsection in the country section. I bought this on somewhat of a whim and Disc 1 is one of the best albums of 2021!

Isn't he an anti-masker too? Yep. Was partying right before his initial SNL appearance, and they canceled it. Then, they gave him another slot later on.

So many fuck ups in so little time. It's a shame he's a terrible person because this is one of the better country albums recently.

This has to be the dumbest thing any rising star with tons of potential has done since Chris Brown in 2009.

Yeah, after everything that happened in 2020, he’s made a concerted effort to show he’s a racist. He’s probably proud of it too. Sickening behavior and I hope he faces the backlash.

I usually have lots of patience and understanding for people who make mistakes in life cause nobody is perfect, you know... HOWEVER, if everything that happened last year didn't teach him ANYTHING AT ALL, a simple boycott from the country industry and suspension of his contract is simply not enough IMO. He should be answering for this in court.

Y'all just had 4 years with an orange racist as President and in spite of another impeachment he'll probably be fine. Btw it's also partially SNL's fault. They go ahead and drop him only to invite him back a month later and make jokes about it? The guy probably thought he had the world at his feet then.

Well, I don't know much about laws here in Brazil, let alone in the US lol At least it should be something to be revised, because I might not understand much about laws, but what I do know is violence is something that goes beyond physical altercations

Answer in court? For what exactly? If you watch the video, it's clear that he wasn't using the word against someone to demean them so there was no incitement of riot, no intimidation, etc. I'm not defending what he said, he is very careless with his words, but claiming he should be arrested? No.

He's experiencing a significant bump on digital outlets, although I'd imagine without continued promo (including essentially being pulled from radio and his label halting all promo) that won't last long.

Lol I love how racists think... he said “the word”, let’s get behind him and buy his songs on iTunes. What point are they trying to prove, that being racist is okay? Asshats. Glad that the country world is acting swiftly. Sorry don’t change shit. You said what you said because you’re a blatant racist and all sorry does is save face.

I saw confusion earlier today in several places across the web surrounding Big Loud’s use of “suspending indefinitely” but he’s now been removed from the artist roster on both Big Loud and Republic’s websites which is typically a clear indicator of an artist being dropped/off the label.
I’m honestly surprised the backlash reached a fever pitch so quickly and the consequences have been this severe but I applaud it if nothing more than for it to be a very public example there is no gray area in situations like this. Cancel culture is such a slippery slope but hopefully he commits to making real change and has a support system to hold him accountable.
(Now if he keeps showing us that this is who he is, then boy bye! 👋🏽)

He could say sorry but that kind of racism comes from the core.

Happy to see the industry responding so quickly. He clearly needs a tough lesson. I’m already preparing myself for the Aunt Mabels defending him in the comment sections.

So I don't know if we should expect anything from him, but it has been days since the incident and the only comment he had made was he said sorry right after it happened. He didn't post an apology, he basically just disappeared. If he wants to rectify this whatsoever (not that he should be able to because he never learns), you would think he would want to make a statement. I'm glad he is receiving no support. Hopefully this teaches others their actions do indeed have consequences.

Not that it excuses his behavior in any way, but his management team likely told him to lay low and keep his mouth shut while they determine the next move.

Not that it excuses his behavior in any way, but his management team likely told him to lay low and keep his mouth shut while they determine the next move. Yes I fully agree. His team is probably saying "full stop" until they can figure out the best way forward. You know his manager and others at the label probably sat him down a few weeks ago and said "look you are the biggest thing in country music right now, whatever you do, don't screw up" and then he does this. In 2021, when there are cameras and cell phones, Ring doorbells, and security devices all over the place, you can't do what he did. I know I'll probably take heat for saying this but its the truth: if you watch the video, it's clear he is not using the word in a derogatory way as in, he's not trying to demean or insult anyone. He is casually using the word and telling another friend to take care of his other friend. There is a difference; I don't think he's a racist in the sense that he views other people as inferior based on the color of their skin. That would be much worse. Kind of like if I accidently killed someone in a driving accident vs committing premeditated murder. Both are bad and come with repercussions, but they aren't the same thing. I'm not excusing him, he has to own what happened and suffer the consequences. People shouldn't go around casually using that word. But I hope he doesn't get 100% cancelled as a result.
