27 Robyn Ottolini - Tell You Everything
The first female artist to leave is Robyn Ottolini. Another sad reveal for razorshark , losing #3, and @castleoblivion also lost one of the top 10 songs. On the other hand, three participants ranked this song in the bottom 3. She is like, hm maybe Priscilla Block of Canada, in that she is getting traction with TikTok, but the music style is not so similar. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #33)As much as I usually root for Canadians trying to go into the US market, Robyn Ottolini has not grabbed my attention yet. Their debut F-150 was very weak, and this song is also very messy. Her vocal is not really good as well. So far Boujee on a Budget is the only song by her that is in my playlist (catchy and funny song!). Based on the Pulse's lukewarm response to F-150, I predicted this to be the first female song to bow out, which turned out to be the case.

Not much on this list grabbed me or stuck out tbh. But it's still sad to lose some top ranks like that

#26 Shawn Austin - Tailgate To Heaven ft. Chris Lane
Here ya go bboat11 ! Another collaboration with US singer is leaving. Shawn Austin got a favourable ranking from LBTrocks and James in 2019, but no top 10 ranking this time. tim gladly bids farewell to the #34 song while LBTrocks scoring the perfect ranking. His career had been a bit quiet for a while, and now, he's with the new label "Local Hay", and he is recovering a momentum on the radio chart. This could be his first #1 hit...? On the other hand, Kristin Carter, who was in the same label as him, is missing CLD's Thought (Prediction: #23)Not bad song, but I could see this kind of production receiving some hates here. My fav part is the intro, and the verse. The chorus is alright, but I do enjoy the mood of this song overall. Shawn is local to me, so I'm happy that he is coming back to the radio scene with the new label with a stronger backup.

#25 Dean Brody - Boys ft. Mickey Guyton
And this is it, the bottom 10 is closed by the exit of another US collaboration song. Being the third single from the album "Boys", Dean got three #1s in a row with this song, and this was Mickey's first #1 in Canada. This song was written by Emily Reid, yes, the one who sang "Wine". This received three bottom 5 rankings, including #33 from tim , who favoured Emily Reid's material in the last RD. Dean Brody will be on this YE RD guaranteed most of the time, but his performance is also declining, #10 --> #14, and now bottom 10! But Dean is still alive with More Drinkin Than Fishin! CLD's Thought (Prediction: #4...lol)Poor prediction here... I was overestimating the power of Mickey Guyton on Pulse. Even she could not save this song from getting negative reviews, which I think is based on this production and generic lyrics (boys or man kinda theme). I didn't like this song at first, and it grew on me. Other Dean's materials this year; Lightning Bugs and I'd Go To Jail were okay, so this got chosen

How is "Boys" this low? Lol. I'm not a huge fan of the song, but Mickey Guyton's part ALONE is worthy of top 20 in this set of songs.

Itâs like saying that Tim McGraw is what makes âBring On The Rainâ worth listening tođ Except in that case the source material is good with or without him, but in the case the source material is bland with or without her.

#24 Nate Haller - Lightning In A Bottle
Starting the second day with my top 5 loss! Nate Haller is the new act that was signed to Starseed Entertainment in 2021, and this is his debut single, which became a top 10 hit. His follow-up single with The Reklaws and Brett Kissel "Somewhere To Drink" is on the chart as well now, so I can see him becoming a regular on the chart if he scores another success with this new single. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #26)I really like this song, strong chorus melody and very catchy tune. I'm looking forward to seeing how his career develops after rather successful debut with this tune. However, I also correctly predicted this to be around the tail of the bottom 10, considering the lack of country element and unique personality.

#23 Buck Twenty - Cut Me Off
Here ya go LBTrocks ! Another song that did not chart is leaving. This song got some adds, but never made it to the Airplay Chart. Their debut single All I Can Do made it to the chart in 2020, but did not crack the top 30. #12 was the popular spot for this song, while LBTrocks and .indulgecountry placed this at the bottom of their list. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #31)I like the melody of this song, but I'm honestly surprised to see this escaping the bottom 10. I thought this kind of vocal and snap-clap production would be hated around here + this sort of two guys duos aren't popular around Pulse, looking at, say LoCash, whose vocals are still better.

#22 Danielle Ryan - Weather Man
The second female act to leave is Danielle Ryan. She is a new act signed to 604 (with Jojo Mason and Andrew Hyatt) in 2021. Being from interior BC, this song got added by some local stations, including mine, but never made it to the airplay chart. Her other song "Good Times" was requested to be added in New Country RD, but did not make it to the final list. This is the lowest female song by .indulgecountry, and castleoblivion26 and tim lost their top 10 with this reveal, while ccarter1023 cleared his bottom 5!!! CLD's Thought (Prediction: #21)I predicted this song to be on the lower side of all the females, as I felt like some of y'all may find the vocal to be quite rough. I do like this song not bad, the reference to Weather Man not telling the truth is sort of unique, and the chorus melody is pretty strong. #2 loss alert!

#21 Alli Walker - Country Music
First reveal to have multiple top 5 losses is "Country Music", by tim and .indulgecountry . Alli Walker from PEI has been in this series regularly as my "recommendation", but never performed well. Still, this is the first time she received some top 5 rankings, and her ranking improved from 2019 RD. Looks like James never favoured her so far, and razorshark also got rid of the #33 spot! CLD's Thought (Prediction: #24)I predicted this to be on the lower side, based on her low performance with Raise Your Head in 2019. This is a pretty strong song, lyrically and melodically, and the production is pretty distinct, so glad to see some high rankings. I don't love this as much as Little Things or Raise Your Head, but still, I wish she would get a chance to send songs to the radio.

f**king finally. This song was utter s**te. This! I would have sworn Buck Twenty would have been a lock for bottom 3 if not last place. I can only imagine those who like this also like the song about Sitting Here and Drinking Beer and Talking God Amen cuz the melody in the chorus is basically identical to that one. Glad to see this trash finally get disposed of.

#20 Jade Eagleson - More Drinkinâ Than Fishinâ ft. Dean Brody
Another #1 hit collaboration is leaving! This is the second single from Jade Eagleson's upcoming second album, and his first collaboration. Jade Eagleson's rankdown performance is also declining, starting with #8 --> #18 and now, #20. James got rid of the last spot, while myself and .indulgecountry lost their top 10 song! CLD's Thought (Prediction: #28)This song is pretty catchy and funny, including the music video. Not his best work, but still sounded better than the earlier hit "All Night". Jade's unique vocal, which is his strength, was not as distinct as in other songs, like Close. I have to say this lasted longer than I thought, as I expected people to find the chorus melody to be kind of clumsy.

Just catching up. Shawn Austin has released three songs now on his new label as part of his U.S. push and I've been a bit disappointed with the songs. I thought his EP and other singles from his Canadian catalog were phenomenal. Still rooting for him but a duet with Chris Lane about tailgates is just pandering at this point. Not an awful song but he's capable of better.
Did Kristin (Karma girl) post something about going Indie? Is she officially dropped from her label?

Not an awful song but he's capable of better. Did Kristin (Karma girl) post something about going Indie? Is she officially dropped from her label? I have to agree that his music style shifted with this new label, and I didn't enjoy the other new songs as well. As for Kristin Carter, her website does not exist anymore, and it disappeared with Shawn and her previous label Steelhead (yep looks like that label doesn't exist anymore). The manager of Steelhead is now still working with Shawn's new label Local hay Record. As for Kristin, her social media is really quiet, no announcement regarding her new music or new label. Here and there, I see her being invited to a small acoustic country/indie concert event, but she was not invited to the local event in Vancouver, where Dallas Smith, Andrew Hyatt, Jojo Mason, and Danielle Ryan were invited. Unfortunately, looks like she is independent now, I mean I kinda want to ask her directly via social media. Still disappointed, as she had a lot of non-released songs that I really enjoyed in concerts, and Pulse liked KARMA a lot in the last RD. Maybe some news in 2022, just hoping.

#19 Amanda Jordan - Pretty Girl
Another non-radio single is leaving. Amanda Jordan is an independent act from Ontario, and I assume she has never sent a song to the radio. She is Nashville based now. She doesn't really have many songs, and looks like she's still 21 years old. bboat11 , who mentioned this as one of the fav discoveries, lost his first top 5, while tim cleared the bottom 5! ccarter1023 scored another perfect ranking. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #20)This song is a pretty catchy and cute, but I also predicted this to be on the lower-end of all the females here, as I could see some of y'all finding the lyrics and melody to be pretty boring + her vocal is not the strongest among other acts.

#18 Hailey Benedict - Wanted You To
Another female is leaving, and this is the first reveal with no bottom 5 rankings. I like this song, and I'm the only bottom 10 ranker, so safe to say nobody hated this song, which must be the first case during this reveal lol. Hailey is originally from Alberta, and I assume she is still independent. This song was written by Madeline Merlo (yes, Champagne Night writer), and her debut single, currently on the chart. She is known for being pulled up to the stage by Keith Urban and performed a song during his concert in 2016 in Edmonton. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #16)I thought this would fall around the middle of this list but I feel like this might be one of the forgettable songs in the list to some of y'all. Hailey has a good voice, and I do like the melody of this song, while not as strong as other songs in the list. I love the intro and production, but also kinds reminds of me of some Shanghai game on mobile devices. I'm interested in listening to more of her songs, as I only know this one so far, and how her career plays out in 2022 after her debut single doing not bad.

Snap, let me do some catching up before you get any further! I kind of took yesterday off from Pulse after spending the last two weeks with the 2000 country rankdown and of course got behind haha. Anyways...going to post some comments up to the top 25:
While Iâm not entirely surprised that âOnly a Womanâ left early, I canât say I was expecting it to be the first song out. Even still, I donât regret putting this in my top 15 because I found it to be a bit infectious and something that even this gay country boy could like lol.
I initially liked âEnd of the Rainâ and thought it was something that was bound to end up on the higher-end of my list. When I came back around to it, though, it didnât quite live up to my initial impression. With each subsequent listen, I found myself a tad bored with it hence why it was in my bottom 5.
When I saw the title âNew Old Trucksâ and Dierks Bentleyâs name attached to it, I admittedly went into this with low expectations as I thought it might be something akin to âBeers On Meâ. Much to my surprise, I quite liked it on the first listen and in the end found myself coming back around to it a few more times. Again, Iâm still not all to surprised to see it land down inside the bottom 5, though.
On the other hand, I went in with high expectations for Gord Bamfordâs âHeaven on Dirtâ as I was a big fan of âDiamond in a Whiskey Glassâ. This in turn was a disappointment as I found the structure of the chorus and his vocal delivery on the annoying side.
The same goes for Robyn Ottoliniâs âTell You Everythingâ as everything about it is a mess with an unbearable production. Iâm surprised I even put this outside of my bottom 5.
I was already judging âTailgate to Heavenâ quite harshly based on both the title and Chris Laneâs name being attached to it. It lived up to my low expectations as it's just a retread of every bro-country song I remember hearing. Pretty girl? Check. Beer? Got it. Pickup truck with the tailgate down? Oh yeah.

I remember âBoysâ from Mickeyâs rankdown that bboat11 hosted a while back where I had also placed it within my bottom 5, so it was bound to find itself there yet again here. Maybe itâs just me, but this song very much reminds me of Dierks Bentleyâs âDifferent for Girlsâ and I canât help but wonder if Emily Reid the songwriter was somewhat inspired by that. Mickeyâs presence on the song might be a great addition, but even her vocals canât save this one for me. Not surprised by some of the lower rankings for âCut Me Offâ as I knew this was bound to be a bit divisive. While I can understand the reasons for those disliking it, I rather enjoyed it and came back around to listen to it again a few times. I am surprised, though, that both âWeather Manâ and especially âCountry Musicâ were so low and exited before the top 20. I especially thought that âCountry Musicâ would do well as it isnât too far removed from (lyrically at least) say something like Thomas Rhettâs âWhatâs Your Country Songâ. Either one of those shouldâve at least placed higher than âMore Drinkinâ Than Fishin'". While âPretty Girlâ is a good song, I guess there just isnât much here I can relate to hence my low ranking. I figured it would receive some support, though, which just happened to come from one of the few heterosexual males in the Tractor community nonetheless .

#17 Meghan Patrick - Never Giving Up On You
The last song to be in the bottom half of this list is Never Giving Up On You by Meghan Patrick. This received four top 10 rankings and three bottom 3 rankings. Also, Meghan got engaged with y'all's FAV Mitchell Tenpenny last month. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #8)I thought this would do a bit better, looking at the success of Things I Shouldn't Say. I like this song far better than Girls Like Me or My First Car (wish they'd tried this song instead), but this is not as strong as Things I Shouldn't Say, vocally or lyrically. Still, one of the strongest songs from her newest EP. I'll stop here for now, and continue tmrw!!

#16 Five Roses - Might As Well Be Me
Kicking off the third reveal day with a duo from Quebec. They are new act from MDM, and this is their debut single to country radio, peaking at #34. Except for .indulgecountry 's #28, 8 participants placed this song in their 10s, mostly around the middle the list. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #27)I didn't know this duo until this year, and I like them fine so far. This song has a nice energy and good melody, but I found the male vocal to be a bit weak, while harmony is not too bad. As a song, I thought people would think this to be a weak tune, lyrically and vocally, hence my low prediction, so a bit surprised to see it making it to the top half. While I'm not sure I like them the way I like other duos, like The Reklaws, Sons of Daughters, or Leaving Thomas, I'm excited to see how their career plays out. I cannot really see them lasting too long, but we shall see.

Ok so âMight As Well Be Meâ was a song I thought was pretty great but wow, the dudeâs voice... so much yuck to my ears lol. I couldnât handle some of the vocals I was hearing in this yearâs RD tbh, like is this the best Canada has to offer? Lol
