#29 Aaron Pritchett - Out Of The Blue
Total: 159
Average: 22.71 Std Dev: 5.74 Chart Peak: #13 castleoblivion26 - 11 🌺CountryLineDancer - 21 .indulgecountry - 23 nuggie99 - 24 bboat11 - 25 LBTrocks - 26 tim - 29Aaron Pritchett RD History
2018 #9 Worth A ShotAaron Pritchett escaped the bottom spot by 2 points. tim scores the perfect ranking, while castleoblivion26 became the first participant to lose the top half of their list. While Aaron performed decently in his first appearance in the 2018 game, not so much with this song. He is recently joining "too-old-for-radio" team with Gord Bamford and Paul Brandt, failing to chart with singles, just like some older males are fading out from the US radio as well. CLD's Thought I am not the biggest fans of him, but I think this song is one of the better ones from him, if not as good as Worth A Shot. I can enjoy the summary, catchy vibe of the tune for sure, although there is not much depth to the song beyond.

Oh my, only 7 of us? This could be interesting! That Wes Mack song did nothing for me, I didn’t even find it catchy. I kept zoning out while it was playing. Yeahh I wish I got a few more lists coming in, but at least I'm glad that I got yours at the very end I notice some posters only care for the annual one (that is 2024 one this year), so hopefully more next time!

#28 Cold Creek County - Beer Weather
Total: 154
Average: 22 Std Dev: 5.54 Chart Peak: #18 nuggie99 - 11 bboat11 - 20 .indulgecountry - 22 🌺CountryLineDancer - 22 tim - 25 castleoblivion26 - 27 LBTrocks - 27 There was a tie at 154 points, so the one with higher standard deviation is leaving first. The first group to leave the game is Cold Creek County. This is their first appearance in this game, and not to my surprise, they did not perform well. This received only one top half ranking from nuggie99 . CLD's Thought I am not too familiar with this band, but I always consider their music style to be similar to that of LoCash. This song is a catchy drinking anthem, and I can definitely enjoy it for the sake of the positive vibe, but again, there is not much depth to the song. They were on hiatus for a while, but they just released a song for the first time in 5 years, Life Goes On, written by Hardy, so curious to see if they can come back to the radio.

#27 Aaron Goodvin - Woman In Love
Total: 154
Average: 22 Std Dev: 4.12 Chart Peak: #7 🌺CountryLineDancer - 15 nuggie99 - 19 .indulgecountry - 21 tim - 22 castleoblivion26 - 25 LBTrocks - 25 bboat11 - 27
Aaron Goodvin RD History
2017 #30 Lonely Drum 2018 #35 You Are 2020 #24 Good Ol’ Bad Boys 2021 #28 Boy Like Me 2022 #26 Lucky Stars
The second song with 154 points is the debut single from Aaron Goodvin (yes you don't have to rank him going backward from here! lol). Again, this song received only 1 top half ranking from myself, while bboat11 scored the perfect ranking. Mr. Goodvin has never gained favor among Pulse despite his exposure to the US radio; this is his 6th appearance in the game and always ending in the bottom 10, frequently in the bottom 5... CLD's Thought I know his vocal is polarizing, but he sounds decent in this one (better than You Are, for instance), and the guitar production is quite pleasant to my ears. I also enjoy the chorus melody, despite not being a big fan of this tempo of songs in general.

#26 David James - Lonely Girl
Total: 147
Average: 21 Std Dev: 8.25 Chart Peak: #39 The last song to fill the bottom 5 is Lonely Girl. bboat11 becomes the first participant to lose the top 10 song, while .indulgecountry also becomes the first person to lose the last spot (only one #30 loss in the bottom 5 is kinda rare). This song was co-written by Aaron Goodvin. Looks like he was recently released from MDM Recording per their website. This is his worst performing song so far in this series. CLD's Thought I like this song pretty well. I kinda wish I ranked it a bit higher. The melody is quite strong, and I do like the vocal production, although he is not the strongest vocalist.

Any weather can be beer weather! Sadly the song itself sucked lol. Vocals were terrible too!
"Woman In Love" is prolly the best I've heard from Aaron Goodvin but it's still terrible lol. Basically he's awful to me
I liked the melody of "Lonely Girl" but not enough to put it in my top 10

I mentioned to CLD when I submitted, none of these songs jumped out to me as bad, nor did anythig jump out as great. Everything was good and enjoyable, mostly. So, let the picker and coin flips decide:
I lost count-- This was ok, I guess. On Apple Music, the video is available, but no the song. Seemed familiar, but not in a good way.
Out of the Blue-- Ok, in a Chesney sense.
Beer Weather-- Liked the rhythm here. I am the outlier as usual.
Woman in Love-- I liked the groove, did not like the line "oh what it do" even if I use that phrase in real life.
Lonely Girl-- Very poppy for my ears. Not terrible, just victim of the picker.

#25 Leaving Thomas - Waiting Kind Of Girl
Total: 140
Average: 20 Std Dev: 8.58 Chart Peak: #33 The first song to escape the bottom 5 is the first duo to exit the game; Leaving Thomas's debut single. .indulgecountry becomes the second participant to lose their top 10, while LBTrocks bids farewell to their bottom ranking. The duo was favored by tim in the previous game with #1 ranking to Blame It On Neon, while this song did not received the same mind of treatment this time. Otoh, LBTrocks continued to place this duo at the lower end of the list. The female vocalist Annika is now a solo singer and recently released a collab with Chad Brownlee, which may show up in the 2024 game. CLD's Thought I do like the verse/bridge melody and production of this song, but the arrangement at the beginning of the chorus feels a bit awkward. Still, along with Blame It On Neon, I sometimes revisit this song. Did not really expect to see those bottom 2 rankings.

#24 The Abrams - Fine
Total: 138
Average: 19.71 Std Dev: 8.46 Chart Peak: #37 Another duo is leaving back-to-back. The Abrams Brothers came back to the game for the first time since the 2019 game, but did not do as well this time. tim got rid of their bottom ranking, while this is the first song to leave with multiple top 10 rankings. I believe this duo still exists, although it has been a while since they release new music. CLD's Thought This song is pretty fun. It is lacking the lyrical depth, but I love the production and melody. It is very catchy and fine song to dance along to. I would still rank their previous entry Good Old Days higher than this, however.

#23 Gord Bamford - Breakfast Beer
Total: 133
Average: 19 Std Dev: 9.29 Chart Peak: #17 The first top 5 loss is here by nuggie99 with the exit of Breakfast Beer. On the other hand, two participants ( bboat11 and castleoblivion26 ) placed this song at the bottom of their list. Fun fact is that this was cowritten by Meghan Patrick. This song was a decent hit for Gord back when he was more relevant, while he is definitely phasing out from the mainstream radio scene in the last few years. CLD's Thought This song is a fun drinking anthem with slightly more interesting hook compared with other random drinking songs. As well, I think Gord did a great job delivering it with a catchy melody. I would take Diver Bar and Drink Along Song (as well as I Ain't Drunk and Diamonds In A Whiskey Glass that showed up in other RDs) over this, but this would be my third favourite, compared with other songs that are listed above as his previous entries. Also surprised that this escaped .indulgecountry 's bottom 10 lol.

#22 Jason Blaine - Back To You
Total: 127
Average: 18.14 Std Dev: 8.73 Chart Peak: #30 The next song to leave is Back To You by Jason Blaine. nuggie99 was the sole participant to rank this in the top 5, while two participants; .indulgecountry and tim , got rid of their bottom 5. Jason Blaine became irrelevant for a while and came back to the radio last year, just like Joe Nichols, and performed well here, but not so much this time. CLD's Thought This song was alright, but kind of middle of the road. It is a nice song to have it in the playlist, but not something that I would necessarily seek out. I would prefer all 3 songs of his that previously showed up in this series over this one for sure. At the same time, if I listen to this more, it may grow on me at some point, as it is pleasant after all.

#21 The Washboard Union - Shot Of Glory
Total: 126
Average: 18 Std Dev: 11.79 (Highest) Chart Peak: #5 The last song to fill the bottom 10 spot is Shot Of Glory. This is their first appearance to this series since the 2020 game that I hosted at the very beginning of this thread. This song was the most polarizing song with two top 5 rankings and three bottom 3 rankings.
CLD's Thought Aside from my bias to this song thanks to it being a line dancing from a local band, I do enjoy the catchy melody and production a lot. Not surprised to see the hates, considering that their music style is pretty close to that of High Valley, which is disliked by most participants in this series, but glad to see nuggie99 boosting this with me.

Waiting Kind Of Girl-- This was ok, a little poppy for me.
Fine-- I got Bowling for Soup vibes from this one, which I liked (Please note 1985 and the Phineas and Ferb theme make up my complete knowledge of Bowling for Soup). Light duty, but that's ok.
Breakfast Beer-- Got a classic feel from this one (I like greasy bacon and eggs, but the idea of clams and Caesar salad for breakfast... ugh) Really liked this one.
Back to You--So the line "85 set on cruise control" is that mph and kmph? Otherwise I liked this one a lot, the theme and the style.
Shot Of Glory-- Preferred the diesel remix a little. I enjoy a good boot stomper like this. (yes, High Valley style is my style)

#20 Chad Brownlee - I Hate You For It
Total: 124
Average: 17.71 Std Dev: 11.15 (2nd Highest) Chart Peak: #8 The first song to escape the bottom 10 is the second most polarizing song, I Hate You For It. LBTrocks becomes the first participant to lose their #1 ranking, not surprisingly, as he has been showing his love towards this song since the beginning of this series. This also received another top 5 ranking from castleoblivion26 . On the other hand, this received two bottom five rankings. .indulgecountry scored the perfect ranking. Chad had two successful entries to this game, including the top 5 in 2017, but this one existed without making it too far. CLD's Thought This one stands out in the list as a song with a nice dark mood, but as a big fan of Brownlee, this is not my favourite from his. The verse is solid, but the chorus has not much of development and melodically not my style overall.

“I Hate You For It” is AMAZING! Totally obsessed with it since it came out. I still actively listen to this. I honestly thought it would be out bottom 3 so I’m happy actually it made it all the way to 20 lol Also castleoblivion26 coming thru with taste

I Hate You For It-- This one didn't hit right with me (again the margin between the top and bottom was very slim) Probably just because of the use of hate. I'm all about love and I hate hate. (That's a Razzy Bailey line, y'all)

I got busy yesterday after one reveal, but starting early to continue now! #19 George Canyon - Daughters Of The Sun
Total: 124
Average: 17.71 Std Dev: 10.55 (3rd Highest) Chart Peak: #8 Another song with 124 points is leaving. This is George Canyon's first entry to this series. He was a hit maker back in 2000s, but joined too-old-for-radio club in 2018 and has been failing to chart for a while. This song was his last top 10 single. I think he has an entrance to the US radio chart once in 2005. This song was also the third most polarizing song with three bottom 5 rankings and two top 5 rankings.
CLD's Thought George Canyon is not the artists that I am really into/familiar with, and this song is pretty mid. Melody is below average and the vocal sounded pretty weak as well. Production is at least pleasant to my ears. He may show up more in the future RDs so hopefully I can introduce something stronger. Surprised to see a top 5 ranking from bboat11 , as I did not know that this was his style!

#18 James Barker Band - Just Sayin'
Total: 123
Average: 17.57 Std Dev: 6.91 Chart Peak: #6 With 1 point difference, another group is leaving. This song received one bottom 5 ranking, as well as two top 10 rankings. Congrats to .indulgecountry and tim for clearing their bottom 10 songs with this reveal. LBTrocks scored the perfect ranking. This s JBB's second best performing song in this series, as they have been always in the bottom 10, except for that one time when they managed to win the silver medal in 2022. CLD's Thought This song is really catchy, from the intro to the chorus. I honestly enjoy JBB mostly for their catchy melody and this is also one of those songs. Glad they for once escaped the bottom 10.

#17 Jessica Mitchell - Workin' On Whiskey
Total: 113
Average: 16.14 Std Dev: 9.48 (5th Highest) Chart Peak: #45 First female singer to exit the game is the contestant of Canadian Idol, Jessica Mitchell. This was the fifth most polarizing song with two top 10 rankings and two bottom 10 rankings, including my bottom spot. This is Jessica's third entry into this game, and while she had a good run in 2017 with Don't Love Me, her performance is not as strong as other female acts here. Another perfect ranking from LBTrocks. CLD's Thought This song is a little boring to my ears. It is a very low-key song and as much as I do not mind ballad songs, I don't think there was anything memorable about it; neither the vocal or melody was significant enough for me to revisit it. Definitely her weakest output so far in this game.

#16 Autumn Hill - Mixtape
Total: 110
Average: 15.71 Std Dev: 8.44 Chart Peak: #19 The last song to miss the top half of this game is Autumn Hill. Surprised that this is their first entry to this game, as I feel like this duo has a high degree of exposure in Pulse, featured in PC 50 and castleoblivion26 's personal RD. castleoblivion26 becomes the second participant to lose their #1 ranking here. This was their last charting song before the separation. CLD's Thought I think I supported this song well in other games, but in this game, it did not really go high on my list. The production and verse is really strong, but the vocal arrangement, especially at "I Know You Loved Me I Know You Did" part always sounded really rough; Tareya usually has better vocal imo. So that was the unfortunate part that impacted my enjoyment of the song. The melody is also not as strong as their other singles.

Daughters of the Sun-- I thought this was ok. Didn't really standout but wasn't bad either.
Just Sayin'-- I like this, hit the 2010's modern country band sound just right.
Working on Whiskey-- Ok, just a little slow for me.
Mixtape-- I liked this, except the songs they shouted out were not songs I knew. (I had heard of them, but not my songs, I'm old and country with a capital O) but otherwise a good song.

#15 Brett Kissel - Pick Me Up
Total: 102
Average: 14.57 Std Dev: 9.57 (4th Highest) Chart Peak: #6 The first song to leave in the top half of the list is Pick Me Up. This song was the fourth most polarizing song, receiving three top 10 rankings and #30 ranking from nuggie99 . LBTrocks scored another perfect ranking! Also realized that Brett Kissel is one of the few artists that are showing up in the game every year. This song was co-written by Chase Bryant. CLD's Thought This song is fantastic. Brett Kissel is very consistent with his singles, but even among his strong catalogue, this would be placed on the higher end if I were to rank all the songs that showed up in the game so far. Such a beautiful melody.
