Closing Thought:Thank you all for the participation. Great to see some new participants, as well as regulars in this game. Don't forget to join the main RD series to be opened by Darkest Hour and looking forward to seeing how the top 5 songs from this game would do over there. As well, don't forget to leave comments on the result of this game! Personally, while the female dominance in RDs is quite common, I did not expect the entire top 10 to be dominated by female artists, especially considering that two male songs snuck their ways into the top 5 in 2022. Hopefully in 2024, more male singers can release stronger materials to be worthy of higher rankings. As well, two independent artists, Parker Graye and Shantaia managed to find their ways in to the top 5, so it will be exciting to see how these new independent artists would do on the chart, now that the threshold to enter the chart is low. I am going to host the 2016 Canadian country RD in early spring, so hope to see you returning! Final Result1 MacKenzie Porter - Chasing Tornadoes (113) 2 Meghan Patrick - Greatest Show On Dirt (117) 3 Madeline Merlo - Tim + Faith (122) 4 Parker Graye - Good At Getting' Gone (125) 5 Shantaia - Know You (130) 6 Tenille Arts - Girl To Girl (132) 7 Hailey Benedict - Damn You July (133) 8 Genevieve Fisher - Best Thing About the Rain (137) 9 Jess Moskaluke - Heartbreaker (148) 10 Five Roses - Livin' in A Country Song (153) 11 Jason Blaine - The Road That Raised You Up (173) 12 Jade Eagleson - Rodeo Queen (180) 13 Josh Ross - On A Different Night (188) 14 Tyer Joe Miller - Back To Drinkin' Whiskey (194) 15 Teigen Gayse - Sleeping With Her (195) 16 Steven Lee Olsen - Outta Yours (200) 17 Karli June - Feels Like Home ft. Top 3 was great!
"Chasing Tornadoes" was the only logical choice for #1 IMO, it easily blew everything else in this RD away! I love it WAY more than even my #2. I think it's the best I've heard from MacKenzie Porter yet, and I've quite liked her thus far.

Yeah, definitely wish Greatest Show On Dirt would win this between the top two with more interesting lyrics and bearable chorus melody. Thanks 🌺CountryLineDancer for hosting.

What an absolutely FANTASTIC top 3. I'm sad "Tim + Faith" was the one to get shafted from the top 2, but "Greatest" and "Tornadoes" are also great and seeing that the final point spread was all within 10 points for the three of them was nice. Excited to see how all of them do in the overall RD now.

Been out and about for the holidays, here's my thoughts (will skip the it was alright ones)
Let Me Be Your Whiskey-- Knew Alexandar from Bad Bots 4 Life, but not the music(was aware of it, just not familiar). This was ok.
Confident-- Way too pop for me.
Rodeo Queen-- This was old school country, which is my favorite, hence the #1.
Livin' in a Country Song-- Just the right combo of moods and a song titles.
Heartbreaker-- Really liked this.
Girl to Girl-- This one got a lot of play on Apple Music, but not really my thing.
Know You-- This one seemed like the a mirror of the Gene Watson classic "You Could Know as Much about a Stranger: so it hit me just right.
Tim + Faith-- This was ok. Not the biggest Tim nor Faith fan (was in the early days, they got more pop as time went on). Unfortunately, every time I see the Madeline Merlo all I can think of it the line from the movie Sideways "If anybody orders any Merlot, I'm leaving!!" (yes my brain works in odd ways)
Greatest Show on Dirt-- Liked the vibe and the story line here.
Chasing Tornadoes-- Enjoyed this one. Thanks for this rankdown, I liked most of these songs. They should have been released down here (or I need to make more effort to listen to Canadian artist, need to carve out some time.)

2016 Year-End CAN Country RDDeadline: May 8, 2024
Welcome (back) to the Canadian country YE RD series. We are slowly steadily making moves, and this time, it's a throwback to 2016! This is the time before Tenille Townes, Jade Eagleson, and The Reklaws became hitmakers, and back when Autumn Hill, Cold Creek County, and The Lovelocks were still together. In addition to the artists that scored the hit on the radio chart, I added a few random picks, including April Kry and Runaway Angel to balance male-female ratio. This is also the first series to introduce George Canyon to this series, who was a hitmaker in 2000s. Looking forward to your submission!! List of songs (30 songs) Aaron Goodvin - Woman In Love Aaron Pritchett - Out Of The Blue April Kry - FirefliesAutumn Hill - Mixtape Brett Kissel - Pick Me Up Chad Brownlee - I Hate You For It Cold Creek County - Beer Weather Dallas Smith - One Little Kiss Dan Davidson - Found David James - Lonely Girl Dean Brody - Time Genevieve Fisher - Blame It On You George Canyon - Daughters Of The Sun Gord Bamford - Breakfast Beer James Barker Band - Just Sayin' Jason Blaine - Back To You Jess Moskaluke - Take Me Home Jessica Mitchell - Workin' On Whiskey Kira Isabella - I'm So Over Getting Over You Lanie McAuley - Pour Me One More Leaving Thomas - Waiting Kind Of Girl Lindsay Ell - All Alright Madeline Merlo - War Paint Meghan Patrick - Still Loving You ft. Joe Nichols Runaway Angel - Witness Small Town Pistols - Jester In A Crown <----NEWTenille Arts - Wildfire And Whiskey The Abrams - Fine The Lovelocks - Home Sweet Home The Washboard Union - Shot Of Glory <-- I added the Turbo Mix in the playlist, as I personally think that's 100x better than the original. Dallas Smith was also the lead singer of Default, a band from the early 2000s known almost exclusively for their big hit "Wasting My Time". It kinda goes in the music category with stuff like Nickelback, Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Days of the New/ Tantric, and Creed

Lol just does the RD with two participants.
I am going to do this for sure, but knowing me, the deadline will arrive and I'll be asking for an extension lol.

Some good stuff here. As usual though, the women definitely outdo the men.

Howdy! I just submitted The Judds album, and then March New Releases needs to be the next priority because indulge is about to start sending me death threats, and then I'll get this one done! So, my goal is hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday! May as well knock them out in one large-ish push

1. What would be in the top/bottom 5? I have no idea, probably the top 5 will be songs in my bottom 10 and vice versa.
2. What was your favourite discovery? All of it really. 2016 I wasn't listening to much modern country music. much less Canadian music. Runaway Angel scratched a SheDaisy itch I had forgotten about. Least favorite discovery was the concept of clams and Caesar Salad for breakfast.
3. How would you compare the list to the previous games? I had never heard any of the songs before, I don't thank and only a few of the artists (from the yearly rankdown and whatever's been on the Casey Clarke countdown the last few months. I started listening to that almost every week)
4. Which song would be the most/least polarizing? Jess Moskaluke - Take Me Home least, Chad Brownlee - I Hate You For It most (I have no idea)

Opening Comment: Sorry for the delay, but now that I got the final list, I am starting the reveal. Always enjoy hosting this series; some predictable results combined with some surprises. Also it is a great opportunity for me to remind myself of the acts that became irrelevant in the last few years, being replaced by Tenille Townes/TJ Miller/Josh Ross etc. Many of the bands/duos here are also split (clearly Canadian country bands don't last too long eh...). Without further ado, let's dive in. nuggie99 .indulgecountry bboat11 tim castleoblivion26 LBTrocks

#30 Wes Mack - I Lost Count
Total: 161
Average: 23 Std Dev: 3.83 (2nd Lowest) Chart Peak: #29 castleoblivion26 - 16 LBTrocks - 20 bboat11 - 23 .indulgecountry - 24 🌺CountryLineDancer - 25 tim - 26 nuggie99 - 27 Wes Mac RD History
2018 #26 House On Fire 2019 #19 Never Have I Ever ft. Sons of DaughtersThe bottom spot goes to the actor-singer Wes Mack. This song was the second least polarizing song; all participants included this song in the bottom half of their lists, while this did not receive any bottom ranking. This song was co-written by Adam Hambrick. Wes have not performed really well in this series so far but this is his first time to land in the bottom 5. It was around the time he was in Supernatural, so his radio career was also better, while now his name is nowhere to be seen on the chart.
CLD's Thought This song has a catchy vibe, especially around the verse, but the chorus melody did not quite grasp my attention, not as fun as House On Fire. Definitely his weakest song so far that showed up in this game.

Oh my, only 7 of us? This could be interesting!
That Wes Mack song did nothing for me, I didn’t even find it catchy. I kept zoning out while it was playing.
