Thanks for another great RD! I hate that Jana is becoming tabloid fodder because she really had a good albeit short run with music. Even the singles she released independently were high quality. I’ve Done Love is probably my favorite song of her entire catalog. Soooo good.

I’ll take 7 perfect rankings and a perfect top 3! “Whiskey” is definitely my favorite but I also love “Why Ya Wanna” and “ I Hope It Rains” so any of them winning would have been nice. The non-singles on the album were non-memorable so glad there wasn’t an upset by one of them sneaking in somewhere. I may have listened to this back when it was released but I don’t recall hardly any of the album tracks (only “Goodbye California” sounded familiar). It’s surprisingly disappointing since I loved all three singles a lot.
Also lol at LBTrocks changing the final outcome with his vote alone

I listened to "I Hope It Rains" multiple times because I knew how loved it was but I found myself not caring for it more and more so it fell more and more. Whereas both "Whiskey" and "Why Ya Wanna" were both enjoyable. Though I absolutely love "Over You By Now" and "When You're Lonely", both should have made it to the Top 5!!!

Jana Kramer is so underrated. Can't wait to rank her sophomore album as it is heaps and bounds ahead of this debut effort. She really came into her own with album #2 and it's a shame that her label didn't stick with her and attempt any further projects after it because she is SO good.

Like most of the albums included in this series thus far, this was the first time I had listened to this album and as always I’m glad that I participated. She isn’t necessarily someone I listen to, but I nonetheless appreciate doing these and discovering music that I probably should’ve listened to long ago lol. I dang near put “Whiskey” as my #1 song and only swapped it for “Why Ya Wanna” at the last moment, so I’m thrilled with the end result either way. Okay, I cannot ignore the fact that quite a few of you have expressed the excitement for Thirty One RD.
My initial plan was to host it in either October or December, and do Caylee Hammack or Hailey Whitters in August, but I might as well just do it in August...?

This is 🌻CLD, and time for another monthly album RD!! This month is a male month (yes the less poplar one), but Ryan Hurd got the highest votes in the poll (7 votes), so I better get a decent number of participants! Ryan Hurd is one of my fav song writers, and even though he has not been the most successful one on the chart, he has quite a few great materials in many of his EPs. This list includes 3 EPs, "Ryan Hurd", "To A T" and "Panorama" + Her Name Was Summer, which was released just by itself. 2 radio singles, To A T and Love In A Bar are in the list. The materials from "Platonice" and "EOM EP" will be included in the part 2 of this RD. (I was planning to put all of them at once, but I figure 24 songs would be too much).
As for the next female, I am still deciding whether to go with Caylee, Hailee, or Jana, but y'all will be ranking all three of them at some point in this year, regardless of the order!

His music is surprisingly good. I liked a few of his songs, but "To a T" being total dreck kinda turned me off to him and made me less interested in checking out more of his stuff. Glad that song was more of an outlier as everything else he's put out is much better!

Kris Kringle Opening Thought:This is the best turnout for my male RD! In addition to the regular tractors, gladly welcomed maine and Sambalada to my monthly RD series! Ryan Hurd is my favourite song writer, and one of the most underrated singers on the current mainstream country radio scene. These three EPs include two radio singles, Love In A Bar and To A T. A bunch of solid songs, my top 5 are in my regular playlist, and may add my #6 soon. He has not released a full-length album yet, but looking at the success of Chasing After You, and him just releasing a new song "Coast", I predict we are not too far from his full-album! Coming up is #12, and 1 person will lose #2!

#12 Hold You Back
The bottom of this RD is Hold You Back, from Ryan Hurd EP. This was released as a promotional single when he signed the record deal with RCA Nashville. castleoblivion26 lost his #2 right off the bat, while LBTrocks and bboat11 had a great start by getting rid of their #12s. This music video is somehow "unlisted" on YouTube. CLD's ThoughtThis one is alright. It has a solid melody, and I don't mind this kind of relationship song, but I don't love some of the lyrics. Like, "I got drunk, you got drunk. We had sex, we woke up" is just so shallow and plain description. I usually don't mind this poor lyrics in a catchy song, but in a ballad song, it didn't sound great.  |

Another song from his debut EP is leaving and sadly, ClevelandRox and HeyHeyHey lost their #1s!! On the other hand, this received seven bottom 3 ranks, including 2 bottom ranks. Looks like this was released as a radio single, even though this did not chart, and no thread was made on Pulse. He was unsigned when this song was released, but it had a great debut on Spotify. CLD's ThoughtI think this is not bad! I'm considering adding this into my playlist. It has a distinct production and melody, and very catchy. The only problem is that bridge right before the last chorus, I don't like that part at all. I thought the background vocal was Maren Morris, but looks like it's one of the co-writer Laura Veltz.  |
