Sorry about the delay, (blame it on LBTrocks   jk) but I'm here to complete the reveal. Not the best turnout (9 participants), which was surprising, considering that there were 13 participants in the part 1! I honestly think this is as strong as the first set, or slightly stronger, I daresay, but we lost 5 participants, and nathanalbright joins from this part. This part includes only 1 single, but also have four cover songs, including Pulse's fav What If I Never Get Over You. Would the covers be the popular ones here, or his original materials would take the crown...? Time to find out!

The bottom of this RD is Payback from EOP EP. This received four bottom rankings, and only nathanalbright placed this in the top half of the list. Neil Mason from The Cadillac Three co-wrote this song with Hurd.

CLD's Thought 
This is simply a mess. The melody is meh, and The Cadillac Three is not adding anything to the song. I don't mind some materials from TCT (I like Dirt Road Nights and Long After Last Call), but yeah, not a big fan of their southern rock style, and this was not the exception.

The first cover to leave the game is Heartless. The original was released by Diplo aka Thomas Wesley featuring Morgan Wallen, and became a decent hit on Hot Country Chart (#10). The writer also includes Wallen and Diplo, as well as Hurd and ERNEST. LBTrocks lost their #2, while tim scored the perfect ranking.

CLD's Thought
I'm not a big fan of this version of the song. I also don't love the original version of Diplo, but I like Wallen album version with stronger rock production, or ERNEST's version that I heard at his concert. This song was a grower for me, and I really like the second verse (Monday night ~ part). I just feel like Wallen's voice suits better for this song, compared with the Hurd's voice.

The first song to exit from Platonic EP is Florida with A Girl. zaclord 🌈 scored the perfect ranking, and tim and nathanalbright got rid of their bottom ranked song. This song did not receive any top 3 rankings.

CLD's Thought
I quite like this song, but just couldn't rank it higher in this list. The production is not the most country thing, but I love the melody, and the song itself has a nice mood that suits the Hurd's voice well. Although it is in my playlist, I did't really play this as much as his other songs, but I feel like I should, as I really enjoyed it when I just played it now.

Taylor Swift cover is leaving! False God was released as a non-album/ep song, and the only song in the list that was not written by Hurd. This one also did not receive any top 3 ranking, but also no #10 ranking. castleoblivion26 scored the perfect ranking.

CLD's Thought
This is an underwhelming song overall. I definitely prefer Taylor's version, but still, it is far from my fav from "Lover" album (Cruel Summer remains as my best fav of all the pop-Taylor songs). I just feel like the melody is pretty boring, and any other aspects of the songs is not saving me from getting bored about this song, unfortunately. I guess he did a decent job in covering, but I don't care for the original, so all I can say is that I wish he covered something else from Taylor lol.

The last song to miss the top 5 is another cover from EOP EP, Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset. This song was released as the third single from What Makes You Country by Luke Bryan. This received one top 3 ranking from me, while LBTrocks and maine got rid of their bottom spots.

CLD's Thought
This song is a summer jam, and perfect tune around this time. I love this song in general, and I love Hurd's cover as much, or even more. The production is better than the original, and I like how Hurd pronounces lyrics in this song (ex. the first verse "little red honda" part, Hurd pronounces "Honda" with melody, while Bryan just says "Honda", like it's so slight, but since I heard this song so much that I cannot help but notice lol). My fav cover by Hurd by far.

Platonic made it to the top 5 with 13 points difference from SSS. The title track from Platonic EP was rather polarizing, including zaclord 🌈 's #1 and LBTrocks 's bottom 2. Myself and castleoblivion26 scored the perfect rankings.

I like this song well, the melody is pretty infectious, even though it had to grow on me for a bit. I get that snap clap production may be leading this to be the polarizing song, but I quite like the production and lyrics are pretty fun. I don't think this was going to be a good radio single, but it's a nice album track that I often visit.

The last "cover" song (I get zaclord 🌈 's point, but cannot really think of a good terminology, so let me just say "cover" for now lol), to leave is What If I Never Get Over You, the winner of YE RD in 2020. bboat11 and castleoblivion26 placed this at their #1, while this joined the bottom 3 of LBTrocks .

What If I Never Get Over You is a great song, one of my favs from Lady A for sure, but Hurd's vocal also sounds great. I mean the original is so good that it was challenging for him to beat that version, lacking the female vocal/harmony, but I often visit his version as well.

Half Hoping vs. Every Other Memory, only 3 points difference! I'm personally glad that the top 2 songs are Hurd's original materials.

This is it! With 3 points differences, the only single in the list Every Other Memory took the crown. Myself and tim scored the perfect top 2. Half Hoping was the most polarizing song, receiving seven top 3 rankings, but also two bottom 3 rankings. On the other hand, EOM was the least polarizing one with no bottom 3 ranking. 

CLD's Thought
Perfect top 2 for me, and I love both songs so much. I was crazy about Half Hoping when it was released, with fun lyrics and strong melody. It was on repeat, and I was bummed when it was not a single. But then, I started paying more attention to EOM when it became the single, and I started falling in love with it. It was such a shame that it flopped on the chart! Personally, these two songs are the strongest top 2 of all the artist RDs I have hosted so far!

I'll gladly take another perfect ranking thank you very much ! I'm happy to see "Every Other Memory" come out on top as that's one of my favorites from him, although it's one that had to grow on me. In regards to "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset", I'm not sure if I'm alone in thinking this but I happen to kind of prefer Ryan's version over Luke's. His voice is just a better match for the song in my opinion which probably makes sense considering that he was one of the writers.

Closing Thought
Thanks for joining this RD. While this was one of the shortest RDs I've hosted, I have many favs in this list. Ryan Hurd is definitely one of my fav male artists out there, both as a vocalist and as a songwriter, and it is sad to see that he has not gained a big success as a lead singer without the aid of his wife. I was hoping he could become a star from the momentum of Chasing After You, but looks like that is not the case... Pass It On was not the best single choice, but still, I was rooting for it! I also found EOM EP to be an interesting one, and I hope more song writers would release albums/EPs like this, I can definitely take some from Nicolle Galyton or Steven Lee Olsen, who are known both as a singer and songwriter. I enjoy different versions of big-hit songs sang by the song writers. The next up is Hailey Whitters "Living the Dream" RD! Pelago RD is also coming soon, still monitoring the potential release of the Deluxe version.

Her current single Everything She Ain't is her debut to the mainstream radio. Heartland and How Far Can It Go? were radio singles in a small market, and I recall my local station testing "Fillin' My Cups", but none made it to the Billboard/Mediabase Airplay Chart.
