#13 "Pop That Bottle"
Total: 76 Average: 10.86 Std Dev: 1.77 (Lowest)
CLD's ThoughtThis song has a good energy, but that's all I can say. I do not necessarily dislike this song, but the lyrical development and melody is definitely weak, compared with other songs on the album. It almost feels like the writers forgot how to write a song in the middle of the album, as the lyrical quality is significantly underwhelming among other well-written songs.

#12 "Bullet ft. Steven Tyler"
Total: 66 Average: 9.42 Std Dev: 2.64 CLD's ThoughtI'm not sure this collaboration was necessary. Surely, it is unique for a country singer to release a country rock song that actually features a rock singer, but the execution was not there. I am not a big fan of Steven's vocal in general, and although Aerosmith has some strong songs due to their strong melodies, I was never into their vocal performance as much, and not surprisingly, he failed to impress me with this tune. The melody is also all over the place. It would have been an interesting collaboration with a right song for sure.

#11 "Dealbreaker"
Total: 65 Average: 9.29 Std Dev: 2.21 (2nd Lowest) CLD's ThoughtThis song has a generic theme of a narrator accusing a man of cheating, which was reveled from the perfume or lipstick stain. I do not mind the theme, and the idea of calling the breakup as Dealbreaker or Game Changer is not a bad word play, either. However, I definitely struggle to enjoy the verse melody and the latter half of the chorus melody. I do like the melody of "Dealbreaker, Game Change, Bye Bye baby see you later" part, but "give me the keys to my door" melody just sounds kinda lazy and does not have the energy I wanted from this song. It is a near miss song for sure.

#10 "Dance In The Rain"
Total: 63 Average: 9 Std Dev: 3.32
CLD's ThoughtA little surprised to see multiple #13 rankings to this song. This song has a decent melody while nothing too memorable. The lyrics are focused on the process of overcoming the breakup, and the sadness of the end of the relationships is compared with the rain, while by learning how to "Dance" in the rain, the narrator is describing the process of going through and coping with the sadness. The lyrical development is not bad, but she definitely had a stronger "Rain" song, I Hope It Rains, in Thirty One album, both lyrically and melodically,

I didn’t even dislike this, just felt the weakest song to me.

#9 "Last Song"
Total: 60 Average: 8.57 Std Dev: 3.04 CLD's ThoughtThis song has rather beautiful melody and Jana's vocal sounds pretty fitted to the subject, conveying the vulnerability. I also like the production where it starts slow and building up as the song goes on, as when I heard it for the first time, I was worried that this song would be one of those songs with good melody but boring production. But year, after the deluxe album release, this was not the last song she was singing about "him" in that she still talks about him in Dealbreaker lol.

#8 "Don't Touch My Radio"
Total: 48 Average: 6.86 Std Dev: 4.14 (2nd Highest) CLD's ThoughtThis song has a good energy production, and Jana's vocal sounds nice and powerful, again, suited to the subject where the narrator is stressing that she has the control over the car radio. I'm unfortunately not too keen on the chorus melody of this song at all. It is lacking the catchiness that I was looking for in this type of song.

"Don't Touch My Radio" is a BOP. Deserved better here. It would've been the perfect follow-up single to "I Got the Boy" imo. Sounds like fairly typical radio fodder, but much less polarizing in nature than "Said No One Ever."

#7 "Boomerang"
Total: 48 Average: 6.86 Std Dev: 3.80 CLD's ThoughtEven though the melody of this song needed to grow on me, I definitely like the fast paced production and energy of this song. I can see myself further liking this song if I give more chances. I also like the use of Boomerang in the song as a metaphor of a person keeping coming back to the relationship. I know two other songs called boomerang, by Ward Thomas and by Christie Lamb. Ward Thomas took the approach of a narrator keeping wanting to go back to the man like a boomerang, while Christie was teasing about a man who keeps come back to her. Jana's approach of "I am not a boomerang so I am not going back to you" is fitted to the album throughout which she demonstrates her strength in a relationship, whether it is at the end of it or in the middle of it. Might have been a little harsh on my ranking, as it is a decent effort overall as an opening track.

#6 "All I've Got"
Total: 44 Average: 6.29 Std Dev: 3.82 (3rd Highest) 312999 - 3 bboat11 - 3 castleoblivion26 - 4 🌺CountryLineDancer - 4 .indulgecountry - 7 Kanenrá:ke - 11 tim - 12 The last song to miss the top 5 is All I've Got. There was another tie with 44 points, so again, the one with higher standard deviation is leaving first. This song received four top 5 rankings and two bottom 2 rankings, being the third most polarizing song in the game. This leaves Just Like in The Movies as the only album track to make it to the top 5.
CLD's ThoughtThis song has a typical breakup subject, but I like Jana's approach in that she used the mid-tempo song in this, not those ballads nor those powerful songs. The execution was also well done, as I do find the melody to be quite nice. It is surely not the most memorable song, but the fact that it was released as a deluxe track makes it actually stand out from the other album tracks and helped me remember about this tune.

#5 "Said No One Ever"
Total: 44 Average: 6.29 Std Dev: 3.73 Peak: #57 CLD's ThoughtAside from the fact that this song caused Jana's career to tank and that she looks uncomfortably tanned in the music video (yeah I definitely agree with Grady Smith on this and music video itself is good), this song is kinda overhated. I mean the lyrics are very stupid and this was a awful single choice, but it is a very catchy song. So yeah, no regret on my ranking, and pleasantly surprised to see so many top 5 rankings here.

#4 "Love"
Total: 42 Average: 6 Std Dev: 2.45 (3rd Lowest) Peak: #32 CLD's ThoughtThis song feels...like it is just there. The production is beautiful, and the melody is not bad, but it is definitely a weak single choice. It was a huge stepdown from those three singles from Thirty One era. Even compared with other album tracks in the album, there are some more interesting songs that could have been a single. Again, it is not a bad song, but just feels weak to me.

#3 "Just Like in the Movies"
Total: 37 Average: 5.29 Std Dev: 4.46 (Highest)
CLD's ThoughtSpeaking of a stronger album track that could have been a radio single, this is the one. This song has such a catchy melody and production, and yet, the production is managing to keep the song from going too poppy (unlike the cover below). This is definitely a standout album track in the album, and happy to see so many positive rankings from many of the participants. I suppose the lyrics could sound a bit cringy to some, so I do understand the lukewarm response from some, but overall, its catchiness is undeniable. Here is the poppy version released by Southern Halo (American Blonde now)

#2 "Circles"
Total: 22 Average: 3.14 Std Dev: 2.54 Peak: #55 Kanenrá:ke - 1 bboat11 - 1 🌺CountryLineDancer - 1castleoblivion26 - 2 tim - 4 .indulgecountry - 6 312999 - 7 #1 "I Got The Boy"
Total: 22 Average: 3.14 Std Dev: 2.49 Peak: #6 castleoblivion26 - 1 tim - 1 .indulgecountry - 1Kanenrá:ke - 2 312999 - 5 🌺CountryLineDancer - 5 bboat11 - 7 Surprise surprise, there is a tie at #1!! Both songs received three #1 rankings and the lowest ranking of #7. Circles was barely more polarizing than I Got The Boy, so if I must decide the winner, it would be I Got The Boy, while I am calling a shared victory here, like I have been in other games where there was a tie at #1. I Got The Boy was Jana's most successful single from this album and recorded the highest peak in Canada at #22 (yes she was not too successful up here). Circles, on the other hand, was Jana's final appearance to the country airplay chart.
CLD's Thought I love Circles, such a powerful chorus melody and vocal. It is definitely an iconic song from this era, if you ask me, as I have listened to this one the most for sure. I Got The Boy has a better production and more interesting lyrical development, where Jana is comparing her ex's wife and herself from a mature perspective. I just wish that the success of this song transitioned to Jana's long-term success, instead of losing all the momentum with Said No One Ever.

Closing Thought: Thank you for joining another album series. All the radio singles managed to sneak into the top 5, including the one with the polarizing reputation. Still, this album has a variety of strong album tracks, and I must not be the only one thinking that her career would have been different if she did not lose momentum with Said No One Ever. We have seen so many artists who lost their radio career with their single choices, the recent examples being Kip Moore, Elvie Shane, Travis Denning, and Brantley Gilbert, but Jana is for sure one of them. While this was her last full album that was released, (not even an EP, what a shame), she has released many standalone singles. I am willing to host Jana Kramer Extra RD, even though it is a bit hard to decide the cut-off timing for that game. Let me know your thought. Otherwise, this thread will come back sometimes next spring with another female album, whether it would be Lainey Wilson, Hailey Whitters, Cassadee Pope, or Megan Moroney, hope to see a stronger turnout. Also, it's been too quiet! Share some thoughts folks! Final Result1 "I Got The Boy"(22) 2 "Circles"(22) 3 "Just Like in the Movies"(37) 4 "Love"(42) 5 "Said No One Ever"(44) 6 "All I've Got"(44) 7 "Boomerang"(48) 8 "Don't Touch My Radio"(48) 9 "Last Song"(60) 10 "Dance in the Rain"(63) 11 "Dealbreaker"(65) 12 "Bullet ft. Thank goodness "I Got the Boy" wins the tie-breaker because I'm sorry but that should've been a landslide victory, lol. "Circles" is fine, but doesn't come even remotely close to IGTB imo. The dobro and instrumentation alone on it is some of the best I've heard out of country music period in the past decade. It essentially feels like the musical blueprint to everything Carly Pearce puts out now, lol.

"Love" video is showing up instead of "Circles" and "Dancing in the Rain" instead of "Last Song" hehe
I love this album, would've done it had I seen it before. I'm surprised about "Said No One Ever" in the top5, I always liked that song and it became kind of a guilty pleasure for me 'cause I've seen so many people hating it. glad others like it too!
overall I don't think my rankings would change a lot and this is similar to what I think about the songs. I'd put Last Song way ahead of #9 for sure but it was so far from the song ahead of it that it wouldn't change anything.
