Back to my contemporary album series! Time for female, and as much as I wanted to Jana/Hailey/Cassadee, I think it is time to try Gabby's debut album, as the deluxe version just came out, and she is likely to be wrapping up this era with her newest single Pick Me Up. This album contains four singles, including two mega hits I Hope and The Good Ones, and one flop, sadly, Footprints On The Moon. Gabby was my fav contestant back in American Idol Season 16, and I am wanting to see her establishing a long-term career, so let's visit this album before she moves on to the next page. Please note, I'm being merciful and did not include I Hope Remix with Charlie Puth, not only because I hate that version, but because I don't see the point of ranking two of the same songs and I know I'm not the minority here to have an issue with Charlie's vocal in that song.

Welp, I'll jump into this first even though I'm not necessarily the biggest fan amongst the group lol...
1. What is going to be #1? "The Good Ones" #15? "I Will Always Love You"
2. Which single is going to do the best? "The Good Ones" Worst? "Footprints on the Moon"
3. Which album track is going to do the best? "Hall of Fame"
4. Which song is going to be the most polarizing? Title Track Least polarizing? "The Good Ones"
5. Any other thoughts on this album/Gabby's career? Gabby has only recently caught my attention as I admittedly wasn't too fond of this album initially. That said, I've been a bit captivated by some of her live performances and "Pick Me Up" has me all but rooting for her success. I see no reason why that song won't be a huge success for her in 2022. That said, I do wish that "Pick Me Up" was released as the lead single for her next project as almost two years have passed since the release of this album.

I honestly do not think I have ever seen two less-appealing predictions for last place. "I Will Always Love You" and "Got Me" are both absolutely incredible  Like, easily her two best vocals on record, coming from someone who's biggest claim to fame is vocal prowess... #maximumjudgmentactivated |

I know "The Good Ones" SHOULD feel like the obvious shoe-in........but as someone who has some background knowledge of the 2021 rankdown results, let's just say I'm not as confident as I would have been a couple weeks ago.....  But then again, this pool is mostly people who are fans of her, so the different demographics might work out in that song's favor! Guess we'll see! "Pick Me Up" is easily my favorite single of 2022 so far, and I am connecting with this album a LOT more right now than I was upon release! Her husband's an ass clown, but I'm rooting for great things for her! Hopefully "Pick Me Up" can take her back to #1, and her second album will incorporate more of that sound  6. I did not include this in this RD, but any thought on River Deep, her American Idol single? She sounds so much like Carrie here! Lol

I do like her cover of "I Will Always Love You" though and definitely don't think that should be last place. "Got Me" is the only logical choice on this otherwise fantastic record IMO. |

What a concept!  ) My goodness, I hope your taste in this album happens to be the outlier here cuz I don't want to live in a musical world where "Got Me" being one of the best on this record and "Jesus & My Mama" being one of the worst is a widely accepted opinion J&MM is a certified Jesus jam whereas GM is a certified Jesus mess. Pulse usually lacks taste but yikes, this would be bad if your prediction turns out to be accurate lol. |

Honestly this album was good and I didn’t think that there was any bad songs. My bottom 3 is more average than anything and would definitely be around top half if they were in 2021 Country Rankdown for example.

Au$tin Opening Thought:While I'm a bit busy, looks like some excitement is here, so I can a couple of reveals now. Turnout was not as great as I thought, and while missing some semi-regulars like castle, crox, or Jordan, great to welcome a lot of new participants in my series, including Fire , kf1992 , jab820 , zdm1998 , nathanalbright , Au$tin , and 312999. I honestly have not spun this album as much before hosting this RD, but yeah, this was a strong debut for sure. And I'd say they are making solid single choices so far, despite the unfortunate flop of "Moon". Coming up at #15, one person will lose top5. |
