He's really out to sabotage himself. He's seen more success in the last 3 weeks than he's seen his entire career and the saddest part is this is who he is. If TMZ never captured and posted that video, we'd have never known and he said it because he's used to saying it and feels comfortable saying it. Any "apologies" saying "this isn't who I am," "I wish I could take it back" or any thing similar to that are all bills**t because he's only sorry he got caught. I've always thought that the best way to punish rich/famous people for their ignorance is to hit their pockets because that's all they truly care about.

While I honestly don't know how long the pushback against him will last or if it'll even do anything to slow down his momentum, I know that if he feels like the powers that be in the country music industry are against him, even if only publicly, it'll do some good. I can never not see him as a racist now but maybe it'll make him slow down on his constant partying and recklessness (especially during a global pandemic), if only because he has a young son to focus on now.

No artist can survive in the mainstream without playlist placements, and AM and Spotify have effectively blacklisted him along with one of the biggest country radio apparatuses. I could hypothetically be wrong, I don't believe that most country listeners would drop him by choice, but that decision has more or less been made for them.

Nah, no way does this end his career. He's only getting this much backlash because he's the biggest country artist and a superstar right now. Other country acts have done far worse and are still getting spins (FGL hosted super-spreader concerts, Jason Aldean was caught with blackface, Gabby Barrett's family). In 6 months, they would've swept this under the rug, and especially since many country acts and execs are still conservative, they'll have no problem working with him just because of this. He'll be back on playlists sooner rather than later. There's way too much investment to pull out right now. And there's no way he's gonna get blacklisted the way The Chicks and Kacey Musgraves have been. If anything, Maren Morris might be at more of a stake for calling him out on his bs. She's going to get praise from her fans but execs might not like that.

If PewDiePie can still have a career after saying the n-word with a hard r while sober, Morgan can still have hit songs.

Normally, I wouldn’t expect anything to happen to him. Nothing happened to Camila, after all. Now that controversy has been relegated to footnote status.

But this is a pretty big deal. As stated in the article, Cumulus controls 400+ stations. It’s a gutsy move for country stations to stop playing the #1 country artist. We’ll see how this affects his overall radio performance in the coming days, but this could really impact his chart placements in the future.

Men, ESPECIALLY white men, are always able to pull off some sort of comeback, regardless of what horrific things they do/say, whether in their past or present.

The worst thing that'll happen to Morgan Wallen is that his momentum slows down a little and maybe he doesn't end up being as big of a music star as he was on the trajectory to be but there's no way he gets outright cancelled. Too many racist white folks in the US of A who like and listen to his music for that to ever happen.
