I'm going to need Dark Blue Tennessee and I'd Lie to be 2 of the 6 new tracks on Fearless.

Fearless was the best first choice to release for the re-recorded albums because it builds the hype and everyone has listened to the album. I am most excited on her debut album on how it sounds, and most excited on Red & Speak Now's unreleased songs. I think that 1989 will be the less hyped album of the re-recordings because it already sounds as the present Taylor, unless she had something in her bag that will surprise us (cause she's Taylor, duh), or maybe do an all-collab songs for the album 🙈 Nevertheless, I'm so hyped up on this #TaylorVersions era!

Very excited that Red will finally get its Grammy chances according to these rules. April 9 is going to be the death of me and if she draws these albums out over the next entire year or so, I don't know how I'm supposed to survive. Also:

It's a good re-recording. It's nice enough to have on streaming or something although I don't really hear enough differences or even improvements to go out of my way to switch to this version on my library.
Excited for the new tracks though!

The throughline across her discography is amazing. "Love Story" has lyrical parallels with "Betty"

As excited as I am for its chances, I'd just rather the songs are entered into songs/performance. Imagine if everyone decided to start rerecording (we know its only going to be a matter of time) Red already had it's moment.

I remember it being leaked long before Fearless, but your point stands. We deserve this. Also I am stanning the thought of “I Heart ? (Taylor’s version)”.

I don't know how much of a shot the re-recordings will have at the Grammys—unless she releases one album per year, which we already know isn't going to happen since evermore and fearless (taylor's version) fall in the same eligibility period. if she drops another one over the summer, that makes 3 Taylor albums eligible for the same Grammys.
I'm just glad folklore had its own moment for Grammys 2021.

Does anyone know the record for most Hot 100 entries in a single year? If the performance of love story on streaming so far is any indication, I could see her having enough power to have a ton of tracks enter, especially if she plans on releasing all/most of them this year.

Getting late Grammy appreciation for “All Too Well” would be a great moment in her career (though the Grammys are getting less and less important day by day).

Richard S. He at Billboard with a good observation on the big difference between the original recording and the new version: It's way more dynamic and less impacted by the late-2000s loudness war.

Also: So this version is different because of a poster? All of these acts draining their fans' bank accounts is ridiculous.

Taylor has always had special editions at Target, with reputation magazines, Lover journals, or a different folklore cover. fans know this.

Different to what? The original album has six less songs (or even fewer if you own the non-Platinum Edition), plus you get to own a copy of "Today Was a Fairytale", since that was never on any of her albums.
Or you mean different to the non-Target version? I don't think anyone will necessarily get both the Target and non-Target version because of a poster, but If I had to pick I'd go for Target and get a nice poster for the same price.
If I were a hardcore CD or vinyl collector this would be a great opportunity to boost my Swift collection. Imagine having both version on display, it would be kinda cool (and if you own the original from some time ago, you've never given your coin to Scooter Braun, so well done!)

Yes, it's different because of a poster, and it's almost like they can just go to Target and get that version and call it a day? Like...that's what I'm doing! What's ridiculous is artists (particularly country artists) only dropping EP-length "albums" and then having to come back later to have a "deluxe" version that they can finally call an actual album, unlike Taylor who is literally coming with 26 songs for one album, all at once. Fearless (Taylor's Version) is gonna be the same price at Target as on her website anyways. Bank accounts will be fine.

Imagine buying Lil Uzi's album on release day just for him to drop a deluxe with 14 more tracks 7 days later. a poster is fine by comparison.

I'd love a good version of 'Firefly' for the debut album, that song is sooo sweet.

Fearless did over 3m Spotify streams yesterday, up from an already impressive 1.2m the day before. Even the deluxe tracks got similar streams to a typical early 00s smash hit...
I wonder what it will do today.

No fan should be draining their bank accounts for their fav act, and if they are, it’s their own fault. They’d probably spend it on something frivolous like pogs regardless.

I'm just glad folklore had its own moment for Grammys 2021. I feel like evermore will take the general/pop categories while they might send the re-recordings for the country performance categories (and maybe one of the new songs for Best Country Song? or they could just send one of the new songs for both Song and Performance), I think that would make the most sense. Now if they release multiple re-recorded albums within the eligibility period, I guess they're going to have to see the reception of those albums and the tracks in it to see what they should submit.

Just listened to the re-recorded "Love Story" and I prefer it to the original? Taylor really is that bitch. Two hugely critical acclaimed/selling albums in the space of a few months followed by re-recording/releasing a large portion of her discography... I'm excited to see the numbers her older albums pull.
Taylor is likely going to sell/stream huge numbers throughout 2021.
Is she going to be re-doing Taylor Swift, Speak Now & Red? If so, the re-releasing of those albums could push them closer to diamond ceritifcation. I believe they're 6 or 7x platinum each. She might end up with 5 diamond certified albums by the end of this decade.

She might end up with 5 diamond certified albums by the end of this decade. That will depend on whether RIAA combines the versions or counts Taylor’s versions separately. If they are counted separately, she may miss out on diamond certifications, but we’ll all know what the true story is. I’m just floored at how much releasing Love Story and announcing this new era has generated all this interest in her catalog. This year is going to be HUGE for Taylor. I think every album is going to see big first week numbers and will get lots of new fans on board with her older material, fans who started listening in the past 1-7 years but haven’t checked out her older stuff yet. This might be the biggest thing she will ever do in her entire career to cement her legacy. One thing I was thinking last night is about how folklore and evermore were such genius moves to set up this era. The high quality on the music and the new musical direction helped people fall in love with her as an artist and a musician and showed she isn’t just relying on her old material to boost her career. Along with those albums, the pandemic has created an atmosphere where people are yearning for comfort, and these re-recordings will remind people of simpler, happier times that they will want to cling to. The result is Taylor has once again managed to make herself bigger than ever, and I don’t think she’s ever had so much goodwill from listeners.

That's a boost of about 16.5m compared to how much she was typically doing. For comparison purposes, The Weeknd's daily streams were boosted by about 15m by his Super Bowl Half Time show... The numbers aren't out yet for which songs and albums got boosted the most, but I'm definitely very curious to see now!

It’s already clear to me that I underestimated the GP’s interest in the re-recordings.. she’s already one of the biggest artists of all time (#8 if Billboard’s “Greatest” list combining the Hot 100 with Top Album Sales is to be believed), and she’s embarking a victory lap on her first 6 albums!! (yes, I realize #6 will probably come much later). “Cement her legacy” indeed.

Fearless and Red all but guaranteed to re-enter the charts this week, possibly even cracking the top 100. Speak Now has a chance at re-entering too.
