For me, the last five months of the year is split between Taylor’s last three albums: Lover - August-September Folklore - September-October Evermore - November-December Though I have been listening to both folklore and evermore kind of back to back so I might need to remove that and essentially combine them to be September-December. How about Red? I only listened to Red a few times when it came out. My interest in Taylor beyond some of her singles didn’t really start until 1989 and even then, it was with Lover that she won me over. I might get the re-release of Red when it comes out though so maybe that’ll go into my annual rotation somewhere.

The way All Too Well (10 minute version) is explicit... I mean, we were already expecting this based on a past interview. What surprises me is "I Bet You Think About Me" being a second explicit song. I imagine Taylor was probably encouraged to avoid swearing in her music to maintain a family-friendly image + her own personal pressures as a people-pleaser to keep this 'perfect' image, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get more explicit songs from "Speak Now" and "1989" as well. "Reputation" seems like a given to me. Here's an interesting graph on the subject (disclaimer: the second 'damn' from debut was part of the original version of "Teardrops") Reminds me of Beyoncé with her transition from Mathew's management to self-titled. Funny how both started expressing themselves more freely in their music starting with a surprise drop (+ one which solidified their status as current legends ❤).

The article also says she will be performing with Carole (and Jennifer Hudson, who will also be performing as part of Carole’s induction).

With Taylor releasing Better Man on Red Taylor’s Version, I’m wondering if Taylor would put her version of This Is What You Came For as a vault track for either on 1989 TV or Reputation TV, it would be cool if she did.

I really hope we get the lead single from Red (Taylor's Version) this Friday. It would be a fantastic opportunity as it is the nine year anniversary of Red (Stolen Version). I reckon Adele ruined her plans but I don't think she was ever gonna aim for a #1 single with re-recordings of 10 year old music.

I just realized that Red (Taylor’s version) is classified as pop on iTunes/Amazon. About time they did that

Right Where You Left Me is SO GOOD!! I only started actively using Spotify last February/March but it is my 7th most played song of all time on it. In general, although I enjoy it, Evermore is boring compared to Folklore for me so I don't play it often outside of Willow, Champagne Problems and Right Where You Left Me

I wonder what are her plans for the re-imagination of the remaining album covers, especially when those for "Speak Now" and "reputation" are already so fantastic and hard to improve. While I have loved all three so far, it does feel weird that those from "Fearless" and "Red" both came from the "evermore" photoshoot (unless these sets were deliberately left as hints - in true Taylor fashion). The one for "1989" was relieving in that regard, but I'm still a bit hesitant on whether she'll be able to replicate the magic of the two more elaborate album covers. I trust her vision, though. On another note, what are your thoughts on the potential cover for "Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)"? I am really hoping she's planning to make a montage of pictures from her childhood and early teenage years, which not only perfectly encapsulate the universal youthful themes of the album, but also add a new meaning to it being self-titled, referencing her remembering where she came from and revisiting the past. Think something in the vein Selena Gomez's placeholder cover for "Rare", but with a brighter colour palette (possibly taking the hues present in the stolen cover). Just an idea 🙂

This was brought up a few pages back and as much as I'd love for Taylor's version of it, it will never happen in a trillion years. I'd be gobsmacked as I don't see Taylor's pride ever allowing it lol. Note: I say this coming from a place of also being a petty betty because my pride would never allow it either lol

She still performed it at Circuit of the Americas and at Super Saturday Night after they broke up.

Agreed, if anything she’d pull a Look What You Made Me Do (Jack Leopards) and completely change the production/arrangement and still get her point across.

Completely agree - although I add 'Ivy' and 'no body, no crime' into my faves from Evermore. Otherwise yeah, still don't love evermore nearly as much as Folklore but I do still adore those five.

If she were to record it and release it for profit, C*lvin gets a cut of that. Right Where You Left Me is SO GOOD!! Such a simple FYC ad this year. They're not aiming for another Album Of The Year/nomination domination. What's interesting though, is that one of the (only) two excerpts they chose mentions "alt-rock" which makes me think that they actually submitted to the Alt/Rock field. That would be interesting and it would look great on her if she actually bags a Best Alternative Album nomination. It's true, evermore is definitely Taylor's most alternative-experimental album, but seeing it 'separated' from its precursor is a bit surprising.

^^ No submissions to alt rock categories.
The reason for the simple look on the FYC ad is because the Recording Academy has apparently made it a rule in the last year that an artist/label cannot air their achievements with the work they were nominated for—they can add critical praise, but no chart achievements or things like that.

Where did the "Stolen Version" title come from? I keep seeing it all over the place now but I never saw it when Fearless (Taylor's Version) came out.

I remember seeing posts calling it "Scooter's Version" but yeah, "Stolen Version" to piss him. But "Original Version" looks formal.

I kinda use it as a joke, because everyone on Twitter likes using that haha
I would use "Original Version" but I don't like that it gives that much power to the music Taylor wants to replace, so I usually use "Old Version".

Hm...if Taylor and her team didn't submit to alternative despite how the project was marketed on FYC, my guess is that they're focusing on appealing to the alt-rock voters to boost its chances in the General Field...I guess? Just pure speculation here.
Speaking of Grammys, I find it absurd Taylor has yet to win SOTY. "You Belong With Me", "Blank Space", and "Lover" would have all made highly deserving winners (I understand "cardigan" 's loss given the competition, and 2015 belonged to "Chandelier" or "Take Me To Church"). I don't think "willow" has a shot this year, though. Still, it's only a matter of time until she's inducted into the Songwriters' Hall Of Fame, so I'm sure her skills are definitely recognized by the industry (+ the 3 AOTY wins, of course).
And yeah, "Stolen Version" is an inside joke among fans to devalue the old recordings. I think folks used to refer to them as "Scooter's Version" at first, but after Scooter sold them, "Stolen Version" seems more fitting.

Just pure speculation here. Yeah that's the only reasonable explanation. Since she already has the support of the Pop/Country field, she needs that extra boost from the Alternative voters. Even if this doesn't help her sneak into any GF categories*, the narrative surrounding her is changing, positively, as it has for the past few months. * I currently have her in Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year but I wouldn't really be surprised if she misses out on both. My biggest wish for this year is a nomination (and why not, win) in Best Music Film. folklore: the long pond studio sessions is a gem.

I actually think the folklore film is her best bet to win this year, but I also can't recall who she'd be competing with? The Billie one didn't really get much hype.

At this point, I honestly don't think she's even going to release a lead single to this, which strikes me as a very odd move, because the general public has forgotten this re-recorded album even exists lol.

She released "Love Story" almost two months before the 'Fearless' re-recording came out so I'm not sure what their tactic is this time.
