85. Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me - Oingo BoingoI have to admit to kinda liking this song. I don't have much hope for one of the songs off their debut album, so I doubt we will ever see Oingo Boingo in the top 50 during the 80's RDs. This one had its charm. The music and "why should I care" chant are the highlights for me. 84. Church Of The Poison Mind - Culture ClubOne of their best. I feel they were more of a POp band, but you can't deny singing along to classics like "Miss Me Blind" and " Time (Clock of The Heart". 83. The Stand - The AlarmThe only aspect here that makes any sense is my consistent high ranks for the band. C'mon just admit it. You all just don't like The Alarm. ironically this band was one of the more 90's sound bands I actually loved. Deep down inside their music melodies I hear a little Billie Joe Armstrong . 82. Legal Tender - The B-52'sActually one of my favorite songs from the band. The valley Girl vibe is off the charts on this one. It just misses my top 50, because my top 50 is reserved for songs that made the big splashes on my music charts. 81. Making Flippy Floppy - Talking Heads I'm sorry but this one used to freak me out when I was a kid. Just like that little peepee and baby feet one did. Come to think of it it still does. 80. I Confess - The English BeatDave is another 80's vocal wonder in my book. His vocals flow with the rhythm of the song. They can go up and they can go down, but he still take control of the melody. This song is fun. The percussion was very Haircut 100. 79. Never Stop - Echo & The BunnymenA bit too clunky ,and upbeat for this band. usually I love this kind of song, but his vocals didn't settle in with this style. It almost feels like A Cure filler song. I would have enjoyed this one more for say a band like Pseudo Echo. It's a fine song ,and falls where I believe it should. 78. True Love Pt #2 - XI thought I was gonna drown this first time listen. Unless the word "-Men" follows the "X" I'm not a fan of this band. I wouldn't say I like it, but it grooves like Duran Duran song might. The downfall are the vocals, and believe it or not the chick tuned me out this time. 77. Love Is The Law - The SuburbsAnother one that got some KROQ spins. Nice guitar strums, but I was never a fan of this guys vocals tones. There are reasons songs like these didn't cruise over to Casey Kasem's top 40. 76. 2000 Miles - Pretenders The truth is this is a terrible Pretenders' song. Watered down and corny. The first two albums are the best ones to show their garage rock like gritty New Wave sound. This feels like a Christmas song gone wrong. 75. Fields Of Fire - Big CountryThis one sounds like another of their themes songs. I like this band, and charted this one for a few weeks. I love that they were so patriotic to Scotland's them music 74. The New World - XSomething about this band's music sounds corny as hell to me. Like a Country Western band parody. Plus their dual vocals are melodically catastrophic. 73. Rainy Season - Howard DevotoNot too too terrible, but seriously who the hell was this guy? Must have been one of those College hard-on acts, because I never heard him on KROQ. 73. Living On The Ceiling - BlancmangeInteresting sounds. There are times where he kinda hits Pete Burns tones. I love that, and the claps are cool as F U C K. 72. Nobody's Diary - YazI'll take any kind of aesthetic sounding Synthpop as my preferred sound on this list. This one was mellow ,and hasn't etched itself into my 80's young heart. It's the kind of song I would put higher on a members' random 80's RD, but I couldn't quite squeeze it into my top half this time around.

EXTRAS:Pack Jam - Jonzun CrewI knew of and charted one song from this band, and this sure wasn't it. The one I knew was titled "Space Cowboy". Also from 1983. One of my favorite Pop stations of the 80's KIQQ featured this one their weekly top 30 for a few weeks. I dug it ,and recorded it off the radio. Much more radio ready than "Pack Jam". Hope you enjoy this one. I used to love it as a kid. Get Out Of London - IntaferonI couldn't find one attractive aspect about this chaotic mess. There is a reason this song didn't make the Hot 100. Our Lips Are Sealed - Fun Boy ThreeI remember this one. Not as valley Girl as The Go-Gos version, but still an interesting take. I wonder if this is how he actually envisioned the song to sound like. Can't Shake Loose - Agnetha FaltskogSorry babe , but there is only one Olivia Newton -John. I still love the Samantha Fox rock side of this. I actually think this fits more my rock style than "I Know There Is Something Going On". I gotta say The Swedes have the melody etched in their hearts. Knocked Down, Made Small (Treated Like A Rubber Ball) - Was (Not Was)I feel like this is the band that walks the Dinosaur? Anyway Was Not Was never was on my charts. Who else thought that was David Hasselhoff on steroids. Fatally Beautiful - T-Bone BurnettThis was a bit too musically simple for my taste, and the vocal delivery was a big tune out.

85.(81) Oingo Boingo - Nothing Bad Ever Happens To Me: Honestly, why should we care Oingo Boingo??
84.(64) Culture Club - Church Of The Poison Mind: I'm honestly confused why this got tanked. This is infectiously catchy, strong list seems like a good enough reason though tbh.
83.(57) The Alarm - The Stand: This reminded me of a Midnight Oil song, but more vague. I hope Midnight Oil gets treated better here though, much better.
82.(91) The B-52's - Legal Tender: I didn't like this much at all, probably the worst B-52's song I think I've heard. High bar but still.
81.(75) Talking Heads - Making Flippy Floppy: This is fine, but not one of my favorite Talking Heads songs. Girlfriend Is Better was right there, and it is so much better than this.
80.(72) The English Beat - I Confess: I don't remember this at all. I am relistening now and the instrumentation is very good, but not very memorable. This is a good spot imo.
79.(96) Echo & The Bunnymen - Never Stop: This just did nothing for me. Echo & The Bunnymen are usually better than this from my experience.
78.(24) X - True Love Pt. 2: Shit, I liked this a lot. I need to dive deeper on this band because I've heard like 10 songs and liked them all quite a bit.
77.(13) The Suburbs - Love Is The Law: This is surprising to me, this was maybe in my top 5 discoveries from this list. This could pass for a Billy Idol song and I wouldn't second guess it.
76.(82) Pretenders - 2000 Miles: Another example of not the best from a band. Pretenders have so many bangers and this just isn't it tbh.
75.(22) Big Country - Fields Of Fire: Not as good as their other song in this rankdown but still a solid guitar song that I'm glad I discovered through this list.
74.(19) X - The New World: This X song rules, and it doesn't sound like a Doobie Brothers song either. I'm a sucker for harmonies like this, and for main riffs like this song has.
73.(83) Howard Devoto - Rainy Season: This is ok, but it's way too long. There isn't a good reason for this to be 5 minutes.
72.(93) Blancmange - Living On The Ceiling: The sitar lead is cool, but I don't have much else to say about this. Even this being my 93 I don't really dislike it, this list man.
71.(94) Yaz - Nobody's Diary: Another song that could have been a minute and a half shorter, either that or build up through the song. This just goes on for 4 and a half minutes. Again not even bad, just not good either.

Ya, I was saying that The New World didn't sound like a Doobie Brothers song, while True Love riff definitely did.
Edit: My original post could have been worded better, but ya I definitely hear what you heard.

Extras Review
Jonzun Crew - Pack Jam 4/10: I bet this is great for breakdancing but I feel like a generationngap is between me and enjoying this.
Intaferon - Get Out Of London 6/10: This song gives you no room to breathe from beginning to end. It also just went in one ear and out the other but it sounded nice so 6 seems fine.
Fun Boy Three - Our Lips Are Sealed 7/10: This is a cool more alt take on a truly fantastic pop song. I prefer the Go-Go's version but this is still solid.
Agnetha Fältskog - Can't Shake Loose 8/10: Banger, Agnetha reminds me of someone else but I can't quite put my finger on who. The bass slap in the chorus is such a simple trick that will always work for me. Great guitars too. I would have loved to rank this.
Was (Not Was) - Knocked Down, Made Small 8/10: This sounds like it would have been a better fit for Active. It's got that John Parr sound, like a denim jacket learned how to play guitar. I like this sound, even if this sounds like it would be perfect for an 80s training montage. I also only know this band for that random Ozzy Osbourne feature they had, but this sounds nothing like that song.
T Bone Burnett & Pete Townsend - Fatally Beautiful 7/10: Solid song but kinda missing something to push it over the top for me.

Fantastic example of a song that has been punished for being in a RD that it is just a little bit out of its depth in. Perfectly fine song, it's just that it's in a sea of sharks.

I'm with Red, a classic of the MTV era, just simply outclassed. This would be a great top 20 on a weaker year.
