^drivers license seems the most likely next #1 on Radio Songs. How quickly will depend on when Go Crazy starts losing daily audience noticeably and consistently. When it does, it will join 7 Rings and Blinding Lights as the only songs in the past 3 years to top all 3 metric charts and the Hot 100.

^ I mean, "X" is pronounced "Multiply", so we already got "*". I don't follow Sheeran closely. I've obviously noticed the titles of his album related to math symbols, but does that theme carry into the songs, or is it just a gimmick with the titles?

In Mood's case, it was sales. We even got one hit (Finesse) that got done in by good old the Hot 100! Oddly enough, in the year previous, Shape Of You, Despacito, and Perfect topped all lists.

Radio seems to have its own universe these days. Indeed it is. Radio thinks Go Crazy is what people listen to the most and not giving a damn about what is actually being listened to in streaming services.

If there is any song that is greater than Blinding Lights, it's Uptown Funk, and the argument can be made based on the Components chart. No song - before or after it - dominated across the board like UF did. UF stands alone in spending at least 12 weeks on the Radio, Sales, Streaming, and Hot 100 charts (and it's almost certain that this will never be matched). It's not like UF did this against weak competition, as it had to hold off very big hits like Blank Space and Thinking Out Loud. Unlike the other songs that spent double digit weeks at #1, UF experienced very little (if any) burnout. In fact, UF was so strong, Billboard needed to change the recurrent rules towards the end of its run (I really wish they would have grandfathered UF under the old 50/20 rule it came in with).

Just a gimmick - kind of like Weezer's '[insert colour] album', and like Adele's number titles (but without the real-life context of them representing the age she wrote them). I don't know if he ever explained the reasoning behind it, though.

Dua will probably fine, her next lead will surely be better/a big deal. But the prospects of them actually going back to the main Future Nostalgia album for another single (as promised) greatly diminish if the singles start flopping.

Reports of its radio demise have been greatly exaggerated. A year in the Top 10 confirmed.

Radio seems to have its own universe these days. Indeed it is. Radio thinks Go Crazy is what people listen to the most and not giving a damn about what is actually being listened to in streaming services. There's always been a disconnect between radio ('airplay' hits) and sales/revenue generators singles, digital tracks and, now, streaming. Major selling singles - e.g., Gold-singles: 'Juicy Fruit,' 'Swingin' couldn't crack the Top 40 specifically because radio refused to play them. Like the people who used to buy music, I think radio/streaming are different audiences - most likely in less desirable demographics for music stations. I've only listened to radio the few times since 2014. Why would I subject myself to end commercials to listen to preprogrammed music? It's easy to connect streaming to car system. I wonder how 'popularity' on streaming would changed without playlisting. That's a built-in boost in popularity that not organic - like radio.

Idk why people on here are so certain We're Good is going to flop when the streaming numbers clearly show it's resonating on some level. It has been stable on Spotify (even gaining on one of the red days) and making gains on AM (it was around #130 yesterday and is at #106 now).

When was the last time a song ruled all 3 metrics at the same time? Probably Despacito Despacito for five consecutive weeks. Since 2013 (Streaming Era)...Uptown Funk 9 weeks (#1 in all metrics simultaneously) Closer 6 weeks Despacito 5 weeks Shape of You 4 weeks Hello 3 weeks All About That Bass 2 weeks The Hills 2 weeks Happy 1 week Fancy 1 week Blank Space 1 week Nielsen Era record (1991-2021)End Of The Road: 12 weeks at #1 in all metrics (physical sales + radio) simultaneously

If Calling My Phone lands at #2, i think this would be the first time the top 2 is ruled by artists who are born in the 21st century (Lil Tjay in 2001, Olivia in 2003)
EDIT: Oh wait i think second(?) time. Back in November Mood was at #1 and Therefore i Am was at #2 (24kGoldn in 2000, Billie in 2001)

You were right at the beginning
