Found this lady on Spotify via ‘New Music Friday Canada,’ and I really like her voice. Kinda raspy bluesy but pop at the same time. I was kinda shocked to see what she looks like, I didn’t expect a white tomboy...no shade, just not what I expected.
This is her new single “Meaningless” -
Another couple I liked -
I guess this one was her breakthrough song:
Spotify profile bio:
Each day offers an opportunity to build, grow, and evolve. Charlotte Cardin maximizes this opportunity as both a singer and a songwriter. Guided by instinct and gifted with a seismic voice, the Montreal-based artist pens personal anthems about life and love without filter. Rather than shy away from specifics, she shines a light on every little detail, empowering herself in the process. Amassing over 117 million streams and attracting acclaim from Harper’s BAZAAR, The FADER, Flaunt, NYLON, PAPER, W Magazine, Interview, Pigeons & Planes, and more, she takes flight out of flames on her first new release of 2020.
After the success of her Big Boy EP across Canada, she made waves worldwide with the Main Girl EP in 2017. Featuring “Main Girl” and the breakthrough “Dirty Dirty,” it sparked a whirlwind two-year journey around the globe. She supported the likes of Nick Murphy and BØRNS in addition to selling out headline shows on multiple continents. Not to mention, she graced the stages of festivals such as Bonnaroo and Osheaga in addition to Festival d’Été de Québec (as a special guest of Sting and Peter Gabriel).

Pretty good album, I’d say my favs are the ones released thus far, with a couple new ones.
One thing I did realize is that her voice gets grating after a while, I definitely can’t do a whole album of hers in one sitting other than to check it out. She’s a little Xtina in that regard, always trying to do the best runs, notes and such.

She’s back! Globally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin kicks off an exciting new era of music with “Confetti” – available now via Cult Nation. The single marks the first new release from Cardin in nearly two years, arriving on night 58 of what has been a mysterious 99 night countdown teased on social media. ‘Confetti’ is an ode to introverts. I had the realization that at every single party I had ever been to, I would lock myself in the bathroom at some point and try to compose myself and gather my thoughts. And when I became aware of that, I thought “okay I should write a song about this”. It’s a party track for people who hate actually being at the party.” – CHARLOTTE CARDINwww.sonymusic.ca/press_release/charlotte-cardin-celebrates-new-era-with-single-confetti-out-now
