if you combine the adds for all formats this got more adds than Maroon 5 and Drake.
Silk Sonic Pop 129, Urban/R&B 53, Hot AC 48 ,Rhythmic 44, Triple A 1, AC 1 = 276 Maroon 5 =218 Drake = 127

Why is there so much police coming in here to proclaim this wonβt be a hit. Itβs not like people arenβt explaining their reasons for why they think so. Meanwhile youβre on the defensive believing people are trashing the song, as if the issue isnβt with radioβs unwillingness to play songs that donβt fit within restrictive lines. Relax. Itβs a prediction. Whether itβs a massive hit or not, weβll all find out eventually regardless of what predictions are made.

In fact, many songs with explosive beginnings end up having short chart lives. Plus, the song itself isnβt super pop radio friendly so thereβs reason to suspect that it may not be a huge long term hit. Personally, Iβm on the fence. I can see it being a decent-sized hit but I could also see it fade after a month or two. Again, theyβre only predictions people are making that arenβt a knock on the song itself. We can all wait and see what happens and if you really need to, you can gloat about it if you end up being on the correct side.

Can you give me an example of songs that started off strong on multiple formarts and then fizzled? We have the Calvin Harris/The Weeknd song from last year thatβs the only example I can think of. However, that song tanked in streaming from the beginning so the verdict was out long before radio dropped it. Major 1st singles by Taylor Swift might be another example, but TSβs singles always fade in streaming by the end of the debut week, which translates to the public not caring for the music as much as her fanbase does. But I really canβt think of a song that stabilized in sales/streaming during its first few days and then all of a sudden radio decided to drop it in a few weeks.

It is Bruno Mars's lead single in a long time, that is why it is doing so well. It is not about the music actually. So after the Bruno's new single hype is gone, the reality will come in - and only then we will know whether the music actually works for people. And it's not gonna start falling in a few weeks in any case, just that if this song fails to reach top 10 for example, it will be considered as a flop. Also - is this song that good to start new trend - soulful songs coming back into charts? Sadly I cannot see it, Bruno Mars is not that strong brand and his career is rather in the last third, so they should enjoy the success while it lasts, but even myself I'm not that much into this song, although I am a big roots raw funky soul music fan. And finally - their second single might be the real banger for pop charts, hopefully!

He was the most consistent male artist of the 2010s after Drake. He had three huge albums that all spawned multiple hit singles, Uptown Funk and a bunch of other Collabs/features. I feel like heβs continuing that consistency. Heβs a great example of an artist who never over saturated himself and gave the public enough time to miss him. Hopefully that translates to continued success. Maybe Drake and Bieber should take note.

The last third meaning he might be near the top for another 5 years(he has been there over 10 years now), but I am pretty sure his career has already peaked.

Whoβd have thought Pop radio would be head over heels for this track? I simply love to see it.

It's the first Bruno Mars release in a while... I would have been more surprised if it hadn't exploded out of the gate. "Please Me" also did really well at first and eventually didn't even reach top 10 on the format, so let's give it some more time to see where it goes.

I don't know if your throwing your own feelings around about him and assume other's feel the same way but most don't...? Right now Bruno Marrs is considered cool, hip, and does his own thing with such a charismatic personality that he can almost do no wrong. Now I could be throwing my own feelings around but I've heard so many people already talk about how good this song is and basically say it's a breath of fresh air. We'll see what happens but I hope this sticks!

Funny because Iβm the opposite. I think heβs the most charismatic, talented guy to emerge in music in the 2010s and while I honestly havenβt cared for most of his throwback hits (24K, Uptown funk, thatβs what I like, etc), heβs always someone whose performances are worth watching. Iβd even go as far as to say I donβt even think heβs at his peak yet.

He was very wise to slow down his output after that Grammy sweep for 24K Magic. At that point it felt like he was heading towards some sort of backlash/overexposure.
He's very fun, charismatic, great stage presence. His material is moving in a direction that I'm not necessarily interested in, but every once in a while he'll do something like "Finesse" and keep me interested.

I think he has a great will power but less talent. It's all very subjective - just because Bruno's music never worked for you doesn't mean it has the same effect for everyone else. For better or for worse, his penchant for emulating old-school sounds appeals a lot to older demographics, who might not connect with the brash electropop, trap, or minimalistic trends. And of course, Bruno Mars is objectively one of the most exciting and fun performers of our generation, particularly among the guys. The man seriously doesn't have a single bad performance to his name, both on the vocal and choreography departments. And this is very appealing to many people as well. Again, each to their own - if you aren't too fond of him, that's your prerogative, but don't project your own feelings onto others, as we all have our own opinions, and the current numbers for "Leave The Door Open" suggest that there is still a demand for his music from the general public.

I know the word perfect have used a lot. but this song is PERFECT in every way ! how it sounds, the intruments and how they go along together, Bruno Mars and Anderson paak. voices (soo dreamy!) the lyrics omg its so so so perfect. literally it cannot be better. on repeat all day.
and i agree, adults and older people loves this song. i have an old father (80y.o) and with his friends are listening this song just like me and they loved it.Just few artist can make a multigenerational song (i don't know if that word exist, sorry !), Adele is another one.
