4(=) Ariana Grande - positions 101.73(-0.23) 8(=) The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 84.57(-0.03) FFS radio, let them go! For real, radio is having a very tough time getting rid of BL especially.

This fading popularity and over-saturation only applies to very recently, however (with Lonely, Monster, Anyone, and Hold On, though the latter it's still to be seen how it does). From mid-2019 right up to the release of Lonely, at least singles-wise (though there's been some misses), it's factually inaccurate to say he hasn't had some pretty big hits, with I Don't Care, 10,000 Hours, Intentions, and Holy. minus 10,000 hours and IDC (which is from 2019) , the others weren't exactly big hits and their chart runs were fuelled by the excessive radio he always seems to get. It's a big commercial difference from his old music which used to dominate the chart and now he's producing album singles that wouldn't spend multiple weeks top 10 without massive radio numbers. From my short time on here, the Bieber hate seems to be a little excessive. Everything he does get's excessive scrutiny on here. The GP and a lot of the people I know have really liked his recent singles, and the callouts for Holy and Lonely show that. Everyone points out his "payola", but they refuse to do the same thing when other "pop icons" like Dua, Harry Styles, or even Bruno get the same exact treatment. I mean Levitating had awful callouts for months and continued to rise on radio and nobody brought that up lol. People seem to praise Dua's success when she did like 66K on her last album, and her singles are pretty hit or miss commercially. And I love Bruno, but if you look at any of his songs since 2018 like Finesse or Please Me, they both were solid hits, but were also largely boosted by radio. I absolutely love Leave the Door Open, and God knows Anderson.Paak deserves a big hit, but look at the radio updates its already getting (still wishing that song the best). I guess all I'm saying is that of course most proven Pop musicians get good radio treatment, but people need to stop pointing it out for some artists and not others.

For real, radio is having a very tough time getting rid of BL especially.Β This (and the insane longevity of Circles and I Hope over the past year or so) is why I think AC and Hot AC really shouldnβt be counted toward the Hot 100. I donβt mind those formats having their own separate Billboard charts, but they shouldnβt count for the chart that focuses the biggest current music in the US when they are so slow to rotate in new songs to replace old ones that have been around for ages. But those songs are currently big, just with an audience that tends to latch on to music later than others and for longer. Because it makes the chart boring for some of us an entire audience should be excluded from representation? Should CHR/Top 40 be excluded because they just recently caught on to Chris Brown's "Go Crazy"? The longevity of "Circles" and "I Hope" demonstrate they had multi-format appeal and spread slowly to those different formats. It's mind-numbingly dull for us but that doesn't make it inaccurate.

Something interesting I saw on the Spotify Global charts, Hold On is doing quite good, much better than it is in the US at 9 while What's Next is down to 7.

Not someone suggesting that Billboard should remove certain formats because they're playing songs for a long time. Making the chart even more inaccurate is certainly... an idea.

Yeah they are ultimately representing something. And they get enough of an audience to have an impact on the charts, so they represent something that is at least somewhat significant. I think they're valid, even if ultimately I find it tiresome.

no feat..the remix from tik tok..Silhouette Remix So the remix is only going to incorporate the βput your head on my shoulderβ sample in the beginning? If thatβs it then Iβm not expecting any major boosts.

The entire point of my post was honestly just to mention how his music has had a big drop commercially compared to purpose. Even to changes when you look at yummy and intentions, don't think any of the singles on this album are putting up those sales units. The main reason for his high chart placements on BB is quite literally due to radio is my point. And to go off your point, not sure about the callouts but the streams are not definitely not reflective of the radio numbers. At least levitating and harry styles songs put up great streaming numbers. Even finesse put up fantastic streaming numbers. Not sure why you'd use that as an example. not too sure about please me i dont rmbr much for that one

We should honestly let BL have itβs moment. I definitely know that there wouldnβt be a hit that would storm in the top 3 on the all time charts for a little while so let it be. Let it set records it never touched before and let it last an eternity if it has to, at least its still an excellent, timeless song that deserves its success. And we know that this song hasnβt killed Abelβs hitmaking career because the singles and features he was on after still managed to hit the top 20 despite lacking longevity. And even then, his own SYT still ended up being a top 5 hit and can possibly go higher in the coming weeks so yeah. I know radio is part of helping the song stay anywhere in the 3-8 range, but streaming is still as high as well, and that matters even more nowadays.

If Bruno didn't release this week, Drake could've also become the first artist to debut at every position in the top 10. He's only missing debuting at #4. Lemon Pepper Freestyle is projected to debut #5 nine points behind #4 though (TalkOfTheCharts prediction), so it could possibly still happen this week.
#1 debut(s) - God's Plan, Nice for What, Toosie Slide #2 debut(s) - Nonstop, Life is Good, Laugh Now Cry Later #3 debut(s) - She Will, Popstar #5 debut(s) - Look Alive, MIA #6 debut(s) - Summer Sixteen, Right Above It, In My Feelings, Going Bad #7 debut(s) - Money in the Grave, Pain 1993 #8 debut(s) - Forever, Passionfruit, Emotionless, Greece #9 debut(s) - Take Care, Portland, Don't Matter to Me, No Guidance #10 debut(s) - Mr. Right Now

It's random at this point but who would have thought that Eurodance/ Europop would have made resurrection in 2020/2021?
(Yes I'm talking mainly about Ava Max. Nothing against her she's releasing decent music)

Finesse was just a victim of bad timing. It's peak occurred during 2 of the strongest #1's ever, in Perfect and God's Plan. Had its peak happened almost any other time, it would have been a #1 hit. Don't forget that Finesse topped each of the metrics at some point in its run.

Idk, I think a good portion of people might swap out the original βstreetsβ for the silhouette remix but well see π€·πΌββοΈ I swapped it out, but Iβm not sure how thatβs going to help. The original version will fall off the ranks on Spotify and the new remix might get caught somewhere in the middle.

Finesse was just a victim of bad timing. It's peak occurred during 2 of the strongest #1's ever, in Perfect and God's Plan. Had its peak happened almost any other time, it would have been a #1 hit. Don't forget that Finesse topped each of the metrics at some point in its run. Finesse started behind Havana as well.

hitsdailydouble.com/streaming_songs--1 DRAKE WHAT'S NEXT OVO/REPUBLIC 40,776,823 --2 DRAKE WANTS AND NEEDS (FEAT. LIL BABY) OVO/REPUBLIC 40,549,160 --3 DRAKE LEMON PEPPER FREESTYLE (FEAT. RICK ROSS) OVO/REPUBLIC 30,836,270 --4 BRUNO MARS, ANDERSON .PAAK, & SILK SONIC LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN AFTERMATH/ATLANTIC17,846,222 Great numbers, of course HITS overestimated Drake as per usual though. They overestimate nearly every single release he ever does with their first projections. They are almost not even a good source for him at this point.
