#10 Kimberly Dunn - Stumblin' Through
Total: 93 Average: 10.33 Std Dev: 4.77 Team: Texas
Chart Performance: #100s in Texas Regional Chart Losing another one from Texas team here. While Kimberly Dunn has had a few hits on Texas Regional Chart, this was not one of them, and her success is not as consistent as other Texas women, such as Kylie Frey or Bri Bagwell. CLD's Thought
Kimberly is one of the most underrated Texas women (assuming no one knew her). As bboat11 pointed out, she definitely has Miranda vibe. While the vocal of this song is a bit rough, this song is just fun and catchy. Even if the vocal of this one was not your fav, there are some great materials in her albums "New Smoke Show" or "Forever on the Run" that are definitely worth checking out, if you feel like exploring a new Texas female singer.

#9 Gord Bamford - Diamonds In a Whiskey Glass
Total: 92 Average: 10.22 Std Dev: 5.45 Team: Canada
Chart Performance: #20 in BB Canada Country Chart Team Canada is done now! Tim loses his #1 here. Australian-Canadian singer Gord Bamford has been a regular hit maker in Canada Country chart since the late 2000s. This is the 4th single from an upcoming album, which is expected to be announced this year. He's definitely one of those singers that keeps a traditional country music sound in Canadian country radio, which now has a lot of pop-influenced materials. CLD's ThoughtHe is definitely a hit or miss. His previous 3 singles were quite bad, and this one is a huge improvement from those. I love the mood of this song which is just straight up sad; no over production or no catchiness, consistent with the lyrics. Quite surprised that it made it to top 20 in the radio chart for that, and this did better here than I expected. While you can expect more of his materials in my year end RD, I will be harsh on his bad songs as well (Just Let Go, #REDNEK etc). Also, I was 1 week away from his concert when this pandemic started. :'(

#12 Casey Donahew - Bad Guy CLD's ThoughtThis is disappointingly low. Definitely one of my favorite Texas Country songs from 2019, and Casey Donahew is my current favourite Texas male singer. One Light Town is a solid album, and aside from Bad Guy, songs like A Cowboys Prayer Promise Land or Wishful Drinking are also great. Quite surprised to see low rankings of recordyear and Tim (especially Tim liked my post when I posted this song in "Current Songs on Repeat" thread). C'mon, this one has great instrumental production and lyrics!! but this was also a grower, so the weak first impression was also kinda understandable. Oh, I don't think this is a bad song by any means...it's just something had to occupy my last place spot lol. Also, I thought it was great that you were listening to a fellow Texan as Casey Donahew is pretty much a household name down here in the Lone Star State.

Glad to see "Diamonds In a Whiskey Glass" make it into the top 10 as next to Orville's "Summertime" this was one of my favorite discoveries. That opening line about finding a way to cope and dragging yourself back up really hit me. And as you mentioned I love the mood that the song sets as well and it's very fitting for the lyrics.
I need to check out some of Gord's other material as I was just looking over his discography on Wikipedia and had no idea how well-established he is up there in Canada. From the sounds of it, the country music being played north of the border is miles better than what's on the airwaves down here in the States.

He has some uptempo materials as well, such as Dive Bar (far better than Garth & Blake's song lol). His newest song is called Heaven On Dirt, which I also posted in Canadian Country Thread in the Main Board. I must say it's hit or miss, but there are definitely some artists that deserve to be played in the US over some generic songs in the Airplay Chart. Also, one thing I like about Canadian country radio is the short chart run. If a song failed to make it to top 30 within 20 weeks, it will be sent to recurrent. Therefore, the chart run is much faster and we rarely see songs more than 35 weeks in the chart.

#8 Kaylee Bell - One More Shot
Total: 88 Average: 9.78 Std Dev: 6.55 Team: Global
Chart Performance: #30 in Australian Country Airplay Kaylee Bell is a pop-country singer from the South Island of New Zealand. While there is no country music chart specific to NZ, she appeared quite a few times in the Australian Airplay Chart. CLD's ThoughtKaylee Bell is definitely one of my favorite country singers from the AUS/NZ area. Many of her songs have catchy melody, pleasant mood, and pop-rock kinda instrument. I knew this would be polarizing, as her music is heavily pop-influenced. She has a song called "Keith", a tribute to Keith Urban, which may show up in my future RD. (Definitely better than Keith Urban's recent materials lol)

#7 Drew Parker - While You're Gone
Total: 85 Average: 9.44 Std Dev: 4.93 Team: US
Chart Performance: NA/TBA Drew Parker was known more as a songwriter, cowriting songs like Homemade by Jake Owen or 1, 2 Many by Luke Combs. I recall seeing this song in the secondary chart in Country Aircheck, and now, it was announced to be sent to the mainstream radio in May. CLD's ThoughtI'm happy that this is going to mainstream, while I have low expectations towards its performance. I like how the song builds up itself from the quiet verse to the strong chorus. Great instrumental production as well.

#6 The Shires - Lightning Strikes
Total: 83 Average: 9.22 Std Dev: 7.05 (2nd Highest!) Team: Global
Chart Performance: NA The Shires is one of the most successful contemporary UK county artists. All of their albums hit #1 in UK Country Album Chart, and 3 of them hit top 3 in UK All Genre Album Chart. The version featuring Lauren Alaina was sent to Country Radio small market, according to Music Row, but never charted. CLD's ThoughtI lost my #1 here with castleoblivion26 (good choice there!). This song is definitely one of my most played songs in 2019. I adore everything about this song; lyrics, instrumental production, harmony, and melody. I love "Just Maybe" part as well. This is far more polarizing that I thought (I get that, as this is not the most "country" song), and it started quite low, but glad it lasted this long. Wish the version with Lauren Alaina did something in the chart. (or wish there was a UK country airplay chart). This song is one of the reasons why I established Global Team in this RD in the first place as well.

The vocal production of Stumblin' Through is a bit muted, and the vocal actually reminds me of Liz Rose more than Miranda Lambert. (Also that single cover on Spotify is terrible.)
The vocal of Gord Bamford reminds me of Jamey Johnson a bit, which is not a bad thing. It’s a decent traditional country sounding song.
Also don’t like the vocal production of One More Shot either. It feels over-mixed to me.
I had a slightly high expectation of Drew Parker’s song because of Luke Combs connection. I end up feel somewhat bored with the song because the chorus does not hit as hard as I expect.
I hate the melody of Lightning Strikes, especially the "Just Maybe" part. The male vocal also sounds a bit cringy.
Here’s hoping the runaway #1 is my #1.

I went into this fully expecting Randall King to come out on top, so I'm going to stick with that presumption. I also suspect that "Nobody Warned Me" is a dark horse for the top two if not for the win, so we shall see! Other than that, I'm not all that certain how or where the other songs might land.

#5 Presley & Taylor - Everybody Sees It
Total: 73 Average: 8.11 Std Dev: 3.72 Team: US
Chart Performance: NA The first song to leave without bottom 5 rankers is Presley & Taylor. @countryrock loses his #2. They are siblings, 20 and 18 years old. This song was never sent to the radio, but a few of their singles have made it to MusicRow Country Breakout Chart. They have a collaboration with Pam Tillis, Heart Over Mind CLD's ThoughtTheir music sound very mature for their age, and most of their music have traditional country elements with a little influence of Pop sound. This song was an instant hit to me and definitely their best work. Chorus melody is very strong, which is further strengthened with their beautiful harmony.

#4 Ward Thomas - It’s Not Just Me
Total: 72 Average: 8 Std Dev: 3.84 Team: Global
Chart Performance: NA The last one to leave from the Global Team is Ward Thomas. A sister duo (they are twins) beats another sister duo by 1 point!! Alongside with The Shires, Ward Thomas is a big hit maker in the UK, with three #1 albums in UK Country Chart, including the one with this song, "Restless Minds". They have released a collaboration with Cam recently, called "Don't Be A Stranger". CLD's ThoughtI really enjoy the harmony of this duo, and I'm planning to check out more of their materials. While they have been successful in the UK, hope they will try something in the US market. Many of their songs are catchy and radio-friendly while somehow they don't give me the generic impression that some female pop country singers do. Another favourite from this duo is "Boomerang".

"It's Not Just Me" is sooooooooooo catchy! Seeing that #2 and 3 are in a tie and would both be going into a future Revenge rd had me really get my hopes up that this song would have a shot of at least doing that, even if it didn't win :(

#2 (Tie) Mira Goto - Nobody Warned Me
Total: 66 Average: 7.33 Std Dev: 5.15 Team: US
Chart Performance: #25 in MusicRow Country Breakout #2 (Tie) Tori Martin - What Would Dolly Do?
Total: 66 Average: 7.33 Std Dev: 3.08 (2nd Lowest) Team: Texas
Chart Performance: #15 in Texas Regional Chart #1 Randall King - Around Forever
Total: 36 Average: 4 Std Dev: 3.39 Team: Texas
Chart Performance: #49 in Texas Regional Chart (still going up) It's high up in the ranking, so I would call tie between Tori and Mira, instead of choosing Tori as a sole #2 based on Std. CLD's ThoughtsNobody Warned Me was actually running for #1 at first, but lost the momentum in the middle. I adore this song, melodically, lyrically, and vocally. I really wanted to introduce this song to people, and that's why I came up with this RD series. Glad to see it made it to top 3! Mira Goto's debut EP "Nobody Warned Me" is worth checking out, especially "One Step Closer" and "Fine" What Would Dolly Do? made it to #2 without having top 3 rankers. While many Texas country songs are heavily influenced by traditional country music, Tori Martin does a great mixture of traditional sound with catchy, pop-country elements. This song was also in Music Row Country Breakout Chart. Also, I slightly prefer WWDD by Lainey Wilson, which has the same topic. Randall King is the King of this RD!! I knew this would be poplar, but this was more than I expected! Definitely my favourite song by Randall King, alongside with Hey Cowgirl. Currently being released as a single in Texas, and climbing up Texas Regional Chart. His name is definitely getting popular even around mainstream audience, so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing his name in the mainstream radio. I personally think he has more shot than Cody Johnson.

"Nobody Warned Me" is sooooo good, so I am happy to see it do so well! Mira has a nice voice, and the song's main theme unfolded in a unique way.
I agree that Lainey's "WWDD" is better than this one, but this is still pretty good. It has nice traditional/throwback vibes to it, and I love the energy of the chorus.
"Around Forever" was admittedly my least favorite Randall King song so far based on first listen... However, I still liked it enough to put it in my top half! And I REALLY like what he offers as an artist, so I am rooting for him hard, and am more than happy to see him join the rankdown winner world for the first time! I'm sure this will grow on me a lot by the time BotB comes around :)
Thanks for hosting!

This top 3 is incredible. Loved both Mira and Tori's songs and they were among my favorite discoveries from doing this.
Randall King winning is just wonderful to see! "Around Forever" is just everything I could want in a neo-traditional country song. His voice is hands down one of the strongest of the newer male acts making country music today and the lyricism and production on his songs is PERFECTION. It is so heartbreaking to listen to this one knowing he wrote it in the wake of his sister's untimely passing much too young. It really hits on what country music is all about and I definitely feel all the emotion in this one. He needs to be huge in the mainstream and I hope he can crossover with something soon and get some hits like Parker McCollum and Cody Johnson, i.e. have recently. He deserves!

I always considered something like Tejano to be Mexican country, but I'd have to look to see if there is anything given a genre name like that.
