Feingold-Kateusz Joins JBE Jack Barton Entertainment is ecstatic to announce the addition of Mandy Feingold-Kateusz to the staff as Senior Administrator. It is a reunion for Feingold-Kateusz and JBE Founder/President Jack Barton, who collaborated at FMQB from 2001-2011 – along with the now-retired Beth Kaufmann – building the outlet’s Triple A department into one of the format leaders. Feingold-Kateusz, who will report directly to SVP Ellie Sanders, will be involved in all aspects of the company including management, marketing and consulting projects, as well as her familiar role assisting in Radio Services, including the weekly Triple A charts and the JBE Triple A SummitFest.
"I am so thankful and excited to be working with Jack Barton again. It feels like a long-awaited reunion,” commented Feingold-Kateusz. “I'm also grateful to partner up with Ellie Sanders and help the team at JBE continue to evolve in new directions and develop new projects. I look forward to catching up with many old acquaintances in the music and radio world!"
“I couldn’t be happier welcoming Mandy back into the fold,” stated Barton. “As a key member of the Triple A staff at FMQB, she was a major part of building what would morph into JBE at the end of 2019, making it only fitting that she be part of the growth and expansion of the company as we evolve along with the music industry. Having first-hand knowledge of her dedication and passion for music and the business, as well as her tireless work ethic and intelligence, I knew she was the perfect fit with us as soon as she expressed interest. I can’t wait to begin scaling new heights with her!”
“It's a privilege to welcome Mandy back into the organization, I'm looking very forward to gaining the strength of her perspective on all current and future JBE projects.,” added Sanders.
Mandy will start with JBE the week of February 12.

WTTS Plans Move WTTS/Indianapolis has announced that the station will broadcast live from the city’s historic Stutz beginning November 2024. The Stutz has gone through an extensive redevelopment project encompassing 441,000 square feet of leasable space, spanning a 3.8 acre, seven-building complex located between 10th and 11th streets and Senate and Capitol avenues in Indianapolis. The Stutz exudes a creative spirit, attracting both top talent and tenants, as well as neighbors, visitors, and tourists looking for an authentic Indianapolis experience.
“The Stutz has long been a creative hub for the Indianapolis community,” said Brock Kenyon, Vice President, SomeraRoad. “We are proud to add to this innovative and artistic identity with the unique addition of WTTS-FM. Through this distinct partnership, WTTS-FM will bring live arts, media and entertainment to the center of the historic Stutz campus. We are thrilled to have them.” WTTS’s new 3,787 square foot space will include a broadcast studio and production, sales, and talent team offices, as well as the iconic Hotel Tango Studio 92 live performance space. WTTS will broadcast live from the historic Stutz daily, establishing a unique live arts and entertainment experience for tenants and visitors of the micro-neighborhood.
“WTTS has carved out a unique space in the hearts and minds of our loyal audience,” said Brad Holtz, President of WTTS-FM and parent company ST Radio. “It seems fitting that we will soon broadcast from The Stutz, one of Indy’s most unique spaces. We are thrilled the next generation of WTTS will originate from this local gem.”

Around The Horn SoCal Sound's Valentines Giveaway is still going through Wednesday. Listeners can sign up to be in the running for premium tickets to the upcoming Tyler Childers show at the L.A. Forum and a signed Tyler Childers guitar, courtesy of RCA Records... Maggie Rogers will release Don’t Forget Me, her third studio album, on April 12 via Capitol Records. On Friday (2/9), Rogers shared the title track, an intimate reflection on the legacy we create through our relationships. She co-produced Don’t Forget Me with Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris) at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, writing eight of its 10 songs with him and penning two alone. Shawn Everett (Brittany Howard, The War on Drugs) mixed. The album was mastered by Emily Lazar (Beck, Coldplay), who has mastered all of Rogers’ albums to date... Only God Was Above Us, the fifth studio album — and first in five years — from Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson, is due out April 5 from Columbia Records. Inspired and haunted by 20th Century New York City, the album was recorded all over the world, from Manhattan to Los Angeles to London and Tokyo. Only God Was Above Us was primarily produced by Koenig and longtime collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid, mixed by Dave Fridmann and mastered by Emily Lazar.

WNRN Blankets Virginia WNRN/Richmond-Charlottesville has expanded its coverage of Virginia to include Hampton Roads (Hampton, Newport News and Norfolk) via the 102.5 FM frequency. Parent company Stu-Comm, Inc. purchased WRJR AM in Suffolk County, VA in October of 2022 and recently completed construction and installation of their antenna in Hampton to make this new signal possible. Additionally, WNRN can now be heard on one signal in the Shenandoah Valley. 94.3 FM simulcasts WNRN in Staunton, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg and Lexington, Virginia. As if that wasn't enough, WNRN has changed the call letters of their Richmond signal (formerly WFTH AM) to WNRN, broadcasting on 88.5 FM and their new call sign in Charlottesville is WNRN-FM. "Please study all of this - there will be a quiz later," quips GM Mark Keefe. He adds in all sincerity that WNRN will have even more news in the next few months.

I know what XRT means to folks here and around the world, and I’m honored to finally be a part of it. I can’t wait to get back to my friends and family!”
Chanley most recently hosted afternoons at The SoCal Sound in Los Angeles. He returns to the Midwest after over two decades on the West Coast, including ten years at The Sound (KSWD-FM) in Los Angeles.

SoCal Sound Ups Julie Slater To MD 88.5-FM, The SoCal Sound has announced that middayer Julie Slater takes over the MD chair recently vacated by Andy Chanley as he headed to WXRT/Chicago.
“I feel like everything has come full circle for me, and I am in my total dream job,” said Slater, who will continue as The SoCal Sound’s midday host. “Being on air, discovering new music and giving a voice to the LA music scene is what I live for. I am so proud of where SoCal Sound General Manager Patrick Osburn and Program Director Mookie Kaczor have taken the station, and I am grateful to be a bigger part of its expanding future. I also can’t wait to get my pretty little paws on that ‘add’ button.”
Kaczor said Slater brings a wealth of radio experience from her work on Los Angeles and Orange County airwaves while at The SoCal Sound and other radio stations in the Los Angeles and New York markets. “We didn’t have to look far to find the best candidate for the music director position,” he said. “Julie is one of the most passionate broadcasters and music fans I know.”
Music lovers who listen to Slater during her regular midday slot of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday will appreciate the “integral role she will be playing in shaping the sound of KCSN and KSBR (the two stations that make up The SoCal Sound),” Kaczor said.
“From New York to LA, Julie Slater has continued to demonstrate she has great chops in front of and behind the mic,” Osburn agreed. “She will be a great music director.”

Hudacek Named Rounder President Concord has announced that it has hired industry veteran Stephanie Hudacek as President of Rounder Records. Hudacek’s hiring emphasizes Concord’s commitment to the historic Nashville-based label and to American roots music. Drawing from Rounder’s esteemed heritage, the label will continue to honor tradition while fearlessly navigating the ever-changing music industry landscape. The mission of all the labels in Concord Label Group remains steadfast: to elevate and amplify the voices of artists whose work deeply resonates with audiences around the world.
Founded in 1970 by Marian Leighton Levy, Ken Irwin, and Bill Nowlin, Rounder Records has consistently demonstrated a commitment to nurturing and developing the careers of extraordinary artists such as Norman Blake, George Thorogood, Alison Krauss, Nanci Griffith, Bela Fleck, Sierra Ferrell, Katie Pruitt, Sarah Jarosz, John R. Miller, and many more. With 54 Grammys in its 54-year history, Rounder Records was acquired by Concord in 2010.
“Throughout her career, Stephanie has shown a deep commitment to artists and songwriters as well as an incredible intuition for what it takes to bring their music to the world. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her at the helm at Rounder,” stated the Chief Executive of Concord Label Group Tom Becci. Adding, “She has the requisite skills to preserve the label’s distinct history while ensuring her artists and team have the resources necessary for continued success in an evolving environment.”
“It is an unbelievable honor to be able to lead Rounder Records. Throughout its history, Rounder has shown an uncompromising devotion to great, authentic artistry, which has made it a natural home for artists seeking the same. That is a tradition I am thrilled to carry on,” said Hudacek.
As the founder/President of Soundly Music, a music distribution and label services company she founded in 2017, Stephanie and her team bolstered the careers of several notable artists including Kaitlin Butts, Joshua Ray Walker, Tyler Ramsey, Aubrie Sellers, Maggie Rose, Pony Bradshaw, River Whyless, Darrell Scott, and many more. Concurrently, from 2022 to 2023, Hudacek was also the President of Late August Records and worked with artists such as Cody Jinks, Erin Viancourt, and Caned By Nod.
Previously, Hudacek was General Manager of Riser House Records, a Nashville-based record label that signed and launched the career of Mitchell Tenpenny and Dillon Carmichael, among others. In this role, she continued to develop both an eclectic music pallet, as well as a deep understanding and strong passion for Country and Americana.
Before she transitioned to label and distribution companies, Hudacek was both a recording engineer and tour manager, where she spent years in the studio and on the road. Among the many artists with whom she worked were Joan Baez and Darrell Scott alongside Ray Kennedy, a five-time Grammy-winning engineer, and producer (Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Chris Knight, Ray Davies, Reckless Kelly) – who continue to be mentors and friends.

XPN Celebrates Record Store Day Locally Every April, Record Store Day celebrates record stores and the special role they play in their communities with special promotions and releases made exclusively for the day. WXPN/Philadelphia produced its first vinyl Homegrown Originals LP for Record Store Day 2023, which featured six local artists and was available in five area independent record stores. This year, the station has amped up the offering.
WXPN Local program host John Vettese, who wrote the new collection’s liner notes, said, “Homegrown Originals was so well-received by the music community last year that we’re able to do even more this year: More artists featured, more copies pressed, and more stores carrying the album. With a variety of genres from R&B to folk to rock to pop, Homegrown Originals Volume 2 is a unique snapshot of the Southeastern PA music community from the past year.”
All ten songs on WXPN Homegrown Originals Volume 2 were recorded and produced during 2023 by WXPN staff, either at WXPN studios for the station’s Key Studio Sessions and XPN Free At Noon concert series, or at WXPN’s XPoNential Music Festival.
Around The Horn KUTX/Austin joins with Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child to present The Breakfast Boogie, a live Saturday concert series for kids and parents, under the shady trees of the Far Out Lounge in South Austin. The Earth Day Celebration is It’s So Easy Being Green, featuring Red Yarn and Andy Sprouts…. The full schedule for the 2024 NON-COMMvention, May 7-10 at WXPN/Philadelphia, has been announced. Bonny Light Horseman, the trio featuring Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson, and Josh Kaufman, has announced their third full-length and Jagjaguwar debut, the double album Keep Me on Your Mind/See You Free, will be released on June 7. They’ve also shared lead single “I Know You Know” alongside their first-ever music video. Anchored by Mitchell and Johnson’s entrancing harmonies, the song demonstrates the band’s keen ability to lace emotional devastation with a pop sensibility as its feel-good, breezy arrangement and anthemic chorus belie its wrecking refrain… The new album from 49 Winchester, Leavin' This Holler, will be released August 2 on New West Records. On Tuesday, (4/9) the band shared the first track, “Yearnin’ For You.” The band also announced their initial tour dates in support of Leavin’ This Holler. Their worldwide touring features several arena gigs opening for Tyler Childers, a subsequent headlining European tour, and numerous festival slots throughout the rest of the year including their Bonnaroo and CMA Fest debuts, as well as a 2-night stand at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. And, in a highly-anticipated appearance, 49 Winchester will also be headlining the famed Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in September… Former The Wallflowers guitarist Michael Ward has died aged 57 after complications from diabetes. The musician died in Los Angeles on April 1, confirmed by his sister Tracy Ward Hartfiel in a Facebook tribute.

JBE Retires SummitFest It is with great sadness that JBE announces the cancellation of the 2024 JBE Triple A SummitFest, that had been scheduled for August 7-9 at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa and The Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO. All registrations will be refunded within the next 30-days.
“A colleague recently used the phrase, ‘strong economic head winds,’ and was not incorrect. I just don’t think I anticipated them being quite as strong as they turned out to be,” comments JBE Founder and President, Jack Barton. “Producing SummitFest was a labor of love, motivated primarily by our extreme passion for radio and, specifically, Triple A radio. It was by design that it stayed a relatively small, programmer-focused gathering intent on exposing new music while creating an inspiring environment for Triple A programmers to bond and share their challenges and successes in a very unique and diverse radio format. Because of that intent, we relied almost entirely on promotion and marketing budgets to support the convention and the recent industry-wide reallocation of resources has made the event financially inviable going forward.
“I will always consider it an honor to have been able to steward this legendary event for the last 15-years. As a new programmer attending his first Triple A Summit in 1999, I was in awe of Gavin’s Keith and Kent Zimmerman attending to all the details of the convention they founded in 1993. I was completely overwhelmed by the thought of what it must take to do that job, one I was sure I could never do. I was then amazed by Dave Einstein successfully navigating that path as The Zimmermans’ successor, and – quite frankly – I thought R&R’s John Schoenberger was out of his mind when he chose to take over the event in 2002, but he also raised the bar of Summit excellence. I can’t thank all of them enough for creating and then stewarding this amazing event for the first half of its life. I hope we – I and my invaluable team of Beth Kaufmann, Ellie Sanders and Mandy Feingold-Kateusz – were able to live up to the standard they all had set for us.
“Thanks to the amazing staffs at the St. Julien and PSI International, and I send a very, very special thanks to Don Strasburg, Cheryl Liquori, David Weingarden and their most incredible team at The Fox Theatre and Z2 Entertainment. They are not only the best partners anyone could ever have, but they’re amazing human beings that have become dear friends, who also believe in Triple A radio and its ability to build music careers.
“I also need to thank Fred Deane and the late FMQB founders Kal and Lucille Rudman, who took the chance the format would support the convention when R&R closed in 2009. Most of all I want to take the opportunity to thank all the artists and labels who supported the event both before and after JBE’s stewardship, and especially (especially, especially) the talented, music-loving radio community that kept showing up year-after-year. I, and all of us at JBE, look forward to continuing to work with you through our weekly charts and Triple A Report, as well as in other capacities through a new venture that will soon be revealed.”
Thanks to our friends at WXPN/Philadelphia, you can still pivot and make plans to attend the NON-COMMvention, May 7-10 in Philadelphia. In light of SummitFest’s cancellation, they are offering the expired Early Bird Registration rates using the coupon codes listed.

David Gilmour has announced his new album, Luck and Strange, to be released on September 6 on Sony Music. The first track from the album, “The Piper’s Call,” was released last Thursday, April 25, following a world exclusive first play on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. Musicians contributing to the record include Guy Pratt & Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry & Roger Eno on keyboards with string and choral arrangements by Will Gardner. The title track also features the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, recorded in 2007 at a jam in a barn at David’s house. Some contributions emerged from the live streams that Gilmour and family performed to a global audience during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021; Romany Gilmour sings, plays the harp and appears on lead vocals on “Between Two Points.” Gabriel Gilmour also sings backing vocals.
